This earphone is perfect for sport fans, street runners and even treadmill workouts. Though it's sound quality is just so so, it's water proof feature is great. I can even wash it!!

I picked these up for running and while I can be assured that the in ear buds won't break due to sweat, they aren't special in the comfort or sound department. I've heard great things from senheiser and thought an Adidas collaboration would be a home run but I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, especially given the price.

I purchased these based on the price and many of the reviews I found hear. I did notice the thumping of the cord initially, but I got used to it pretty quick, as after a few minutes I didn't even notice it. After about five minutes of running, they started to slip out of the ear canal and that's when they lose all bass and the sound gets really tinny. That drives me batty. I don't expect Bose quality at JVC prices, but I'm having a real problem finding good sounding buds or phones, at a decent price, that stay in my ears.

I had a pair of the Bose SIE2i headphones (that I loved) but was a fool and lost them while traveling. My wife purchased these Sennheiser headphones along with a pair of Klipsch headphones so I could have one pair for working out and one pair for everyday use, all for about $65 less than the SIE2is. Unfortunately the sound quality of the Sennheiser headphones is not good. For $50 (we price matched and saved $20!), I'd expect the quality to be much better. There were no lows, only tinny highs. I ended up returning both of these and ponied up the extra money to get another pair of SIE2is. I love them.

The part of the earpiece that is supposed to extend and hold itself in your ear is so flimsy that it won't stay in place. These headphones were so extremely poorly made that I didn't even bother turning the mp3 player on to hear the sound quality. So to be nice, I gave them an "average" in sound quality. I just put them back in the box and immediately returned them.

Bought these to hold me over until I decide on a higher quality pair of earbuds, but for under $50 these are impressive. There are some obvious limitations at the price point, but the classic Sennheiser sound is there, which I like (others may disagree).
The one thing I wasn't expecting from a sport headphone however was the microphonic cord (tapping the cord makes an audible thump through the earbuds) -- this is easily solved by using the shirt clip and then wrapping the cord over and behind your ears.
While the highs are very detailed, they become quite sibilant at normal listening levels. Hopefully burn in will reduce it.
To improve the sound and comfort I recommend comply foam sport tips, however I was able to make my own custom earbud tips by folding the silicone tips provided inside out (while still on the headphone) applying a pea sized amound of sugru (that I made into a snake shape) around inverted tip, then replacing the tip to its original position now with the sugru underneath. I then placed them in my ear for a minute, then pulled them out and let cure for 24 hrs. There are videos out there that might explain this better, but the comfort and isolation improved greatly with this mod.
Overall I'm satisfied with these for the money. Much better than many other similarly priced sport headphones on the market.

Excellent...but you must use proper sized cuffs

These are excellent earbuds...but I have to stress that it's ESSENTIAL that you experiment with the three cuff sizes provided with the kit.
After reading several reviews, I came to expect that the Sennheiser's frequency response, particularly in bass, would be superior to what I was hearing in the Sony set that I already owned. When I first tried the Sennheisers, I was shocked at how tinny they sounded; I then noticed in the (sparse) instructions that you have to extract foam inserts from the ear bud channels using their special tool before use. Unfortunately, this made no difference in the sound. I was also disappointed at how much external noise leaked past the ear buds, apparently because I simply couldn't insert them far enough into my ear canals to block it.
Finally, after trying the largest size cuffs, I noticed a DRAMATIC improvement in sound; this included vastly increased bass coupled with dimininished ambient sound intruding past the ear buds. The seal provided by the right size cuffs makes ALL the difference in how these ear buds perform, something each user needs to know, and is not made apparent in the instructions, or frankly, in any review I've read thus far.
While running with these ear buds, I also find that they do a very good job of staying in my ears. It's posible they may become slightly uncomfortable when worn for long periods of time; I haven't had a chance to discover this yet.

Excellent in-ear workout headphones

I have owned many different brands of headphones (Sony, Koss, Bose, Apple) and the Sennheisers are by far the best as far as sound quality is concerned. I bought the CX 685 as a replacement for the discontinued CX 680s and their are much improved in design and fit. These head phones are loud, they isolate sound very well and can double as ear plugs, low impedance design lets you set your mp3 player at a lower volume so you save battery life, wider frequency response so you can really hear the highs and lows. I would recommend playing around with the equalizer function so you can tailor sound to your personal taste and style of music. One thing that really sets these headphones apart for is their low profile design so I can wear them under my helmet while riding my motorcycle. They stay in place while I ride so I don't get distracted allowing me to focus on the road. I should also note that Sennheiser is a German company and they only make headphones, microphones and telecom equipment, they don't just dabble in headphones.

I was looking for some headphones that would actually stay in my ear during my runs. My pair of Skullcandy Titans were getting too sweaty about 4 miles in and constantly slipping out of my ear. I read quite a few reviews online about these and decided to pick them up. I was not let down at all. They have a very secure fit and the sound is worlds better than the Skullcandy earbuds I was previously using. I'm also using them for everyday use and am noticing subtle things I missed before in the music. I can't imagine Beats earbuds are that much better for all the extra cash you're going to spend on them. I also like that these didn't have a stupid microphone/control thing attached. Not something I would ever need or use, so I like that I don't have to pay extra for it while still getting high quality sounding headphones.

I have has several earphones during my time, and these are about the worst. No nuancing of the music, all sound comes across like garbage cans crashing together. No real highs, no real lows... just noise. No separation. Just noise. Don't buy these.

Finally found a pair of headphones I like

I have been looking for a pair of headphones for a while. I tend to go through them a lot so I was willing to spend a little more for a good pair. I use them for music just about every day and needed them for running too, so I was looking for something that would stay in my ear. I found these and they were a little pricey but decided to get them. As soon as I put them in my ears they fit perfectly, and they are comfortable. They are basic and do not have any kind of volume control or anything on the cord, but otherwise they are perfect for what I need so I am not complaining. The only reason I say that is because the last brand I had were the first headphones I have used that had the volume and mic on the cord, and it was kind of convenient but unfortunately the sound kept going out so I had to return them twice, but I'm glad because I found these. I would definitely recommend them, I'm not sure if they are worth $70 but the good thing is Best Buy has a price match guarantee, and I found a lower price somewhere else and they gave me the difference which was almost $30, which was pretty awesome.
