The product gets only 3 stars due to no water resistance rating and poor voice audio quality for calls. The sound is good for the current price. But not if you're buying full price.

Fantastic product, if you're an audiophile and actually care about the music, and none of that other gimmicky nonsense, you need to do yourself a favor and purchase these. The soundstage is unbelievable. For comparison, better than the HD1s/Original Momentum 2s (overhear). Haven't tried the Momentum 3s but after this, I don't feel the need!

Disappointed with the quality of this product from this brand. App lacks good tools to set sound quality. Bass is OK and highs are crisp.

(This is my first ever “review” on any product, so sorry for any mess-ups!) The CX 400BTs are not a bad pair of earbuds, but from my experience, they are just “good” and not great. This isn’t really a review of these earbuds, but rather my experience with these for a short time period. I am not an audiophile by any means, but I feel like that because I am not an audiophile, it indirectly has something to do with my unsatisfactory experience with these earbuds, and how it left me wanting something more from its performance. Design- the earbuds and case are big, but not huge. There isn’t really anything special about their design. They are made out of plastic, but it does feel good and will not fall apart easily. Battery- The product states it will provide roughly 6hrs of charge for the earbuds, and an additional 13 hours with the case. I think it is decent, but not great. It will vary depending on your way of usage. Sound- I feel that for audiophiles, the sound that these come with out of the box will be great for them, as it is very balanced with clarity. However, for some one like me, an average consumer, I like my music to have that “thump” and energetic feel to it. I downloaded the Sennheiser smart control app, and messed with the EQ for days. Though I managed to make the sound more suitable for my tastes, it still was only a marginal increase in the sound clarity, bass and treble when compared to my AirPods with Apple Music’s EQ activated, which makes the AirPods sound better. Without the Apple Music EQ however, the CX 400bt do perform significantly better than my AirPods. The same thing can be said if I used the CX 400BTs without any EQ. They would only sound marginally better than my AirPods, and the bass was even a bit lacking when compared to the AirPods. The treble would hurt my ears on some songs, as it would be extremely brought out for some reason. Now for some genres of music, such as instrumental from my experience, the CX 400BTs were actually great, and the soundstage was wide. This was probably one of the only things that these earbuds did so well when compared to my AirPods. Conclusion- the CX 400BTs are not bad earbuds, but I think they cater towards specific people looking for that specific “audiophile” sound. As for normal consumers like me, I wasn’t blown away, and because it did not have ANC or transparency mode like other wireless earbuds such as Apple’s AirPods Pro’s, I really was left with wanting more. I will return these for another different pair of wireless earbuds. I think these are still worth the try, but you may or may not like them. If you want features such as ANC, stay away from these, as they do not offer any of the such.

Sound quality is very nice but the connection is a bit quirky at times. On occasion, in the middle of my jog, it gets disconnected from my phone and I have to restart it to reconnect it again.

I'm not an earbuds guy, I just generally don't like them. I much prefer the comfort and performance of over the ear headphones, but I wanted something more lightweight and cooler to use when I'm working outdoors. So I pulled the trigger on the CX400BT's and I'm pretty happy. In the box you get the earbuds and the charging case, the world's tiniest charging cable, extra earbud tips, and more documentation than seems necessary. There's a button on the charging case that tells you roughly how much power you have (green, yellow, red), and pairing begins automatically when you first take the earbuds out of the case. They're dead simple to use, have great sound quality out of the box, and are as comfortable as any earbuds I've ever used (which is to say, they're fine). Overall I like the earbuds. They're comfortable enough for earbuds, they don't fall out of my ears during a walk or other light activity, and the battery life is more than enough for the length of time I'll ever use them. I like that i can pull out either earbud and still have audio playing or continue a phone conversation. Voice quality is very clear on both ends, and sound quality overall is great. Music, podcasts, and audiobooks all sound fantastic. I also like that these charge via usb type C, a requirement for any new tech I buy. I'm not going back to using a medusa's tangle of cables just to keep things charged. Things I don't like >touch controls - the touch controls for these are not at all intuitive for me. both buds have touch controls on them, but they're different for either bud. tapping to increase/decrease volume or skip forward/back just doesn't feel right. Obviously this is a concession to the fact that these things are so small so swiping is out of the question. Still i'd rather have no touch controls because then at least I wouldn't accidentally end calls or pause media. At least the touch controls work I guess. > voice assistant - so you can activate your voice assistant with one touch on the right earbud, which sounds great in practice, but if you're using a newer samsung phone (as I am) prepare to be disappointed. Instead of triggering google assistant it tries to open bixby - which yeah no thank you. Unfortunately the app is so basic that there's no option to choose which assistant you'd like to activate. So that's something you should know if it applies to you. >customization - the packaging touts sound "tailored" to you, which I guess is technically true because the app does offer you EQ control, but it's the most rudimentary EQ I've ever seen. You only have the most basic control, either using a super basic line with a dot that you drag to favor highs, mids, or lows, or the "custom eq" which allows you to manually set your highs, mids, and lows, as opposed to actual frequencies. It's enough to get you that extra bass or clearer highs to suit your tastes/needs, but I'd prefer more granular control. On the plus side there's no generic rock, pop, synth etc. pre-set EQ profiles. Those are always useless. > earbud tips - As it turns out I have two differently sized ear canals. So the left earbud fits snugly out of the box, but the right one is just a little bit loose. Unfortunately the only larger size included in the box is far too large, just straight painful to wear - so until I find some 3rd party tips that I like I'm stuck wearing one earbud kind of loosely. The rest of the tips vary in size from tiny to ultra tiny. Final thoughts? I like these overall, but they're still earbuds. As with any small piece of tech the name of the game is compromise. When it comes to wireless earbuds you're talking reduced battery life and (generally speaking) fewer features. The positive for the CX400 BT's is that they cram a ton of tech into a very small and lightweight form factor. The only thing really separating these from the more expensive MOMENTUM earbuds is the lack of ANC. I'm not particularly bothered by that since earbuds naturally filter out quite a bit of outside noise in the first place. At the end of the day though I'm only going to ever wear these when I'm working outside in warm weather. 200 bucks seems a little steep for such a specific and limited use case scenario, but it's worth it for me. If, unlike me, you have iron-clad ears and don't mind the feeling of earbuds in your ears for long periods of time these are definitely worth your attention. The sound quality is fantastic, battery life is great (20 hours including charging case), and they're super lightweight, and pretty cool looking.

Sound is very good and they are very easy to set up using the app. I don’t like that they don’t run independent of each other. I believe the right one has to remain in your ear for the left to work.

Like the earbuds. The only thing I don't like about them is that I can't be listened to the left ear bud while the right is charging. I could with an older pair, so I assumed all were like that. Not complaining it's just more of an fyi. They sound great
