Headphones were either broken at time of purchase or shortly after due (in my opinion) to poorly designed connector end that was shorting out. Could only hear left side of headphones. My last pair of this brand lasted ten + years

An excellent headphone choice. Why a short cord?

Sennheiser has a great reputation. I use their wired and wireless mics at our church. I have had a little experience with their headphones, so I was excited when I found a stereo headset microphone for my smart phone. Once a month, I spend 10-12 hours each day over a weekend on various tech calls, and have been looking for a good fitting set of headphones, as the ear buds just aren't meant to be worn that long.
These have the typical Sennheiser headphone design. They are over-the-ear, so they can feel a bit bulky until you get used to them. They are closed-back, so they eliminate outside sounds. The sound is well defined and balanced, even a low volumes. The bass is nice and solid sounding (typical for Sennheiser#.
If you are looking for a great quality sound, these cannot be beat. There is no hype with brand name #read: Beats) but instead a great quality sound and a SUPER reasonable price. Don't hesitate, buy these!

Purchased these headphones due to price. The sound quality was so bad that I returned it the same day. I could not believe how bad it was. I would have returned them if they were free.

For the price, these are pretty good. If you're willing to spend a bit more I would go for their higher end varieties, but these definitely do the trick.

After messing with wireless astro a40 and turtlebeach px5 I've decided to see Sennheiser. I use Denon and Bose speakers. So I bought HD 429s for $99 got cable extension and bigger jack for my Denon got home plugged it in and they blow away others I had. Not saying TB or Astro ate not good its just I have lotta devices around and I always had to deal with some disturbance in my ears. For $99 this is a great set for movies gaming on the go etc. Next time mite got with $200-300 ones. But these are just awesome.

Poor headphones that don't deliver on their promise.
Bass is not "powerful" by any means.
You can also hear EVERYTHING going on outside of the headset. I know they do not promise any noise cancellation or isolation but this is what I expect from a $10 pair of headphones.
The cable also feels too thin and flimsy.
The good stuff? Sound is very clear. Range is amazing. The mic works like a charm.
Save your money.
I will be sticking to my HD202s. These feel like a massive step down.
