This is another example of Sennheiser's precision high quality. It is a bit bulky on the head but the comfort fit allows you to go for several hours. The coiled cord can be a bit heavy and sometimes requires you to move the bulk out of the way. However, the durability makes it fully worth it. Enjoy great sound quality in a comfortable over the ear headset that will last forever.

I bought these over the Pioneer 2000 because they were on sale for $99 while the Pioneer was $300. The Pioneer are better but at this price these suckers rock! You will hear sounds you have not heard before and after some burn in it gets even better. Comfort is good for a few hours. Unusual fold up prevents turning a cup up to listen with it off the ear, not a big problem if your not a DJ. Again, these sound so good you will want to make sure you use a higher encoding rate so as to enjoy the FULL sound they produce. When I upgraded my sound card to the Asus Xonar they sounded even more awesome and now my ipod and zune sound a little lacking, not the headphones fault.

I bought these as a replacement for a well used set of BOSE headphones. I really like the comfort and these have a bit more bottom end than the Bose. They are a little heavier on the head though. Overall I'm very happy. I also have Dr Dre Beats Pros and they have an absolutely ridiculous shaped ear cup, making them useless to wear for long sessions. Dre's sound the best of the 3 but are useless to wear. Both the Bose and Sennheiser are comfortable for long wear but the Sennheiser sound better. I use headphones for a recording studio in my home and have them on for at least 3-5 hours per session. All in all, considering $$$ comfort and sound, Sennheiser is the way to go right now.

These are comfortable enough. But they are so bulky it makes it a challenge to wear them for too long. Sound quality is great.

I have owned my Sennheiser HD 280s for a long time. I wanted another pair for work. I got a little extra money for my birthday and decided to try the step up. The low end is better than the HD 280s, and at least equal with them in all other areas. The most notable improvement over the HD 280s is fit and comfort. These are noticeably lighter on my head and very comfortable for long periods. If you are looking for the best sound for the best price, I would go with the HD 280s, but the HD 380s are a great improvement in comfort while also maintaining the Sennheiser professional quality sound, and even improving upon it.

Amazing Pair of Heaphones--Minus The Discomfort

Great sound quality from these headphones, but they tend to become uncomfortable during long listening sessions. They have a slight vice grip like feel while wearing and put pressure on the sides of your face. On the other hand, this same tight feel allows for a good fit that helps block out sound. When I listen to music I am normally around other people and so I was looking for headphones that didn't leak sound. These headphones are closed which is perfect for me as it allows me to turn up the volume without those around having to listen to my music. The sound quality is also great. It is not bass heavy but you still get great bass, along with good mids and highs. Overall, I love this headphones, the only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a five is because of the discomfort.

The biggest disappointment in headphones for me was the lack of the deepest bass contained in some forms of classical music. While I have owned many very good phones in th we past, the sound of a symphonic bass drum or a 32' organ pipe sounded hollow, lacking solidity. This is no longer the case. The Sennheiser 380s not only reproduce the sound of the deepest audible notes, but also the feel - one can actually feel the sound waves vibrating against your ears, just as you feel it against your body in a live performance. These phones do that down to the lowest limits of human hearing. The rest ofvthe frequency spectrum? The 380s continue Sennheiser's stellar reputation in clarity, timbre, musicality, and overall balance. They neither add nor subtract from the sound as the artist intended and the engineer recorded. My quest for a headphone that sounds real is ended! And they very effectively seal out all but the very loudest of ambient sounds.

After trying everyone of the headphones Best Buy has to offer, I selected these. They sound great and are very comforatble. Much better overall sound quality than any of the Dr. Dre Beats Headphones and I perfer them to my Bose, which I only like to use on flights.

I had been putting off buying head phones for a while. When tested others in the same price point, these are the best sounding, most comfortable and very durable looking! I haven't ever purchased this quality of phones before to compare with others.

These are awesome headphones, it is the truest sound reproduction of any of the speaker systems I have, and I have a bunch! The only thing that would make these better is if they were wireless, but I would buy these again!

I use these for home recording with keyboard, bass, and guitars. I was just amazed at the excellent quality with EQ and technical tweeks on my recorders using a Les Paul, ES 125, and Fender Jazz Bass. The store demo was impressive and home use is even better.

You cannot find a better heaphone at this price point. Its quality is inline with the next tier up. So get it. Only small complaint is that my head must be shaped funny because sometimes if I turn my head, a space opens up between the headphone and under my ear so some sound can get through. But it's infrequent, and a minor complaint at worst. Still the best sound for price available.
