Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these after I was not really pleased with the bose QC35. Easy to use, great sound. I used them for my trip to Argentina and they lasted the day without recharging. They are on the expensive side but worth the additional 50 dollars over the bose.

Favorite Headphones for Music and Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love listening to music so I spent a long time trying to find the best headphones for a decent price and I found these. I love all the unique and futuristic features it has. Long battery life, comfortable, and stylish. I also use this headset as a gaming headset with my PlayStation. I had one issue after a year of use when the band wasn't sliding, but I contacted Sennheiser and they sent me a new pair within a few days.

Excellent sound but poor noise canceling
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sennheiser is a great company, and this headphone has excellent sound as expected from them. Very comfortable. But poor noise canceling, which I need for airplane use. So I exchanged for Bowers& Wilkins PX and am very pleased.

Great Sound, ANC Could Be Better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sennheiser has a reputation for great sound and these latest keep the reputation intact. Whether it's music or movies, everything sounds great. They don't have the "club sound" as Beats and a lot of other manufacturers have which was a plus for me as I am not personally all about that bass. I use them primarily for the gym and sometimes when playing cards. The controls of these take a little getting used to since everything is touch or twist based (eg, there's no "off switch"...you need to twist one of the ears to turn it off or on). The ANC though is a little hit or miss. It's not going to tune out much during silences or soft music parts, but overall does the job.

PXC-550- Failed in 8 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so impressed by the features at first sight, that I changed my option of having bought the BOSE equivalent, to returning the BOSE, and waiting for a week to get the set. At first, amazing in every way, but a few months in, they started to failed randomly and became spotty and easy prey to interference. If one of the reasons you are investing on (upgrading to first class on headphones) is that you want them for isolation and peace in a busy environment, I figured, it was not the headphones; it was me. So after, installing, re-installing, re-booting, re-starting and almost moving to Africa and changing my name, I realized I needed a base line to compare to. (blame my Engineering mindset) So, I used my son's BOSE (bought a couple of years back; the headphones, not the son) and ran several tests under the same conditions. In every test the BOSE came on top, and almost impervious to any of the interference (like saving a file on your computer) that the otherwise superior Headset was a victim of for a few seconds -or minutes- each time. As of last week, I decided to reach out for help to Sennheiser customer service/technical. They did not responded at first, so I e-mailed again. When getting the answer, and getting the "10-ways in how to lose a customer" I got a semi-class of why interference affects Bluetooth protocol, and wish me good evening...... ,,YUP; that's my happy experience with Sennheiser. I truly hope this helps, and hope your experience is different in every way. All the best

Great sound...not for active noise cancellation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound - in fact, for most genres of music, superior to Sony's and Bose' top models. But for noise cancellation - FORGET ABOUT IT. Just sitting with here with my TV on and the headphones on with no music, there is virtually no difference between Noisegard off, on, or in adaptive mode. None.

Literally damaged my hearing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially was quite satisfied with my PXC-550's until I had a very disturbing issue start occurring. Every so often (maybe once every 2-3 months or so), it would BLAST me in the ear with an extremely loud high pitch sound. So loud that anyone in the room with me would jump, but it was on my head and actually blasting into my ear. I called Sennheiser and they were surprised by this and suggested all sorts of trouble shooting - maybe it was the computer I was connected to? Changed it. Maybe it was the environment I'm in? Changed it. Maybe it was a defective set? They replaced them. Well, the same thing kept happening with all of that changed. While making phone calls, I would just get blasted in the ear every once in awhile with a completely deafening sound. Sennheiser offered to replace these with Momentum Wireless and I very stupidly declined because frankly, I bought these for work phone calls and the Momentum mics are bad. Fast forward to a year later, where I have constant tinnitus in my left ear. My wife finally convinced me that $400 headphones weren't worth damaging my hearing. I don't know what I was thinking. I went ahead and called Sennheiser to say listen, I know it's been a year but is it at all possible to switch models now just so I don't have this issue and can at least use them for music listening. I was told i had to talk to Mary Joe as she was the supervisor who could authorize it...except I never talked to her. Transferred to her three times, left voicemails, never a word back. Left a voicemail on the general customer service number, never heard back. I've since bought Bose 700's and love them. Superior mics, superior noise cancelling and MOST importantly they don't have a defect which permanently damages my hearing. I mean of all the things that can go wrong in a headphone, that is probably the most ridiculous experience I've ever had.
