Great until they die

I used these head phones a lot, sad thing is I wouldnt be reviewing them if the right ear hadnt died on me. They lasted 2 years. Sound is great, I'm not complaining about comfort. It's better to have a longer cord than not have enough (get a twist-tie). Not sure why they died. I'm not using them in a rough environment, I sit at a desk and walk around my house with them, most brutal thing they endured was use while mowing the lawn... idk Sennheiser wouldnt warranty them because it was right at the 2 year mark from when I bought them. Good for the $, hope they dont die on you.

I bought these for my 13 year old son for Christmas as a first set of "nice" headphones and for the money they are very nice. I have an old set of model number HD590's that I bought refurbished 15 years ago and they could stand to be refurbished again but they still sound great, so these should last at least half as long is my hope

I really reviewed a number of headphones available prior to selecting the Sennheiser. These worked great for the DJ event I had to complete and met all my expectations. They are well worth the investment and seem to be very durable headphones. The only negative may be that over a period of a few hours thay can become a little uncomfortable, but I stand behind the product and the value. If your looking for a quality set of headphones that don't kill your checkbook, I highly recommend you give them a try.

Needed new headphones in a hurry, these looked good. Unfortunately there were none to try on at the store. They sound great, except the low end is a bit lacking but that actually works in my favor. The cord is straight, not coiled - ok I could deal with that if I have to but sooner or later it'll get broken as its flimsy. They should show the cord through the package. Lastly, they're rather tight and uncomfortable - unacceptably so for a 7 hour gig. Once my new pair arrives, I'll give these to a tiny-headed friend of mine.

I didn't get very far in my audition of these phones, because they felt like my head was in a vise! If they fit, they might be the ones for you.

I use these at low volume while recording voiceovers and vocals- the comfortable headphones with great sound lived up to the Sennheiser name, but only for a while. Within 6 months the earpads began to lose their leatherette covering, and within 18 months the speakers' sound were distorted and unable to reproduce higher notes, rendering sound in the human vocal range inaudible.

I bought these based on the reviews. Wow...thin anemic sound, weak bass, and terribly uncomfortable. My head is not that big, and these were so tight that they gave me a headache after just a few minutes. So very disappointed in these headphones. I was expecting so much more from Sennheiser. These are going back for something like the Klipsch Image series

You would think a company that made "Audiophile" grade headphones could have done better than this. Sound was not as good as the old Sony unit it replaced. The Sennheiser's were comfortable so I kept them. Then they lost sound in one of the speakers in LESS than a year. Much better out there for less money.....
