I grew up watching this movie on weekend TV or classic TV movie channels.

Movie was shipped in a timely manner and arrived when expected.

Bought for a friend who wanted the film and got to get points.

I had this on vhs years ago and have been looking for it on DVD ever since.

Wonderful musical. Great songs, fun movie. Will watch again and again.

It's great to know Best Buy still carries the muscials I enjoyed as a youth. In this now violent world, It's wonderful to escape and watch a movie that let's us fantasize and believe in happy endings.

When I'm down, I watch the barn-raising scene and immediately feel better. There's nothing delicate about the dancing -- it's sheer power, agiility and elegance. "I'm a Lonesome Polecat," on the other hand, is laugh-out-loud funny. Howard Keel (Adam) and Jane Powell (Milly) are the putative stars of the movie but they really just provide the basic plot device. Watching Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank and Gabriel woo and win their girls is where all the fun is. It's as politically incorrect as can be, but there's a sweet innocence to it that makes it inoffensive. The video quality of the DVD is very good and, considering the movie is over 50 years old, they managed to provide excellent extras.

This classic is both entertaining and witty. The lyrics are both clean and mesmerizingly humourous at times. The opening song by Howard Keel will grab your attention and imagination as he searches for a wife before harvest! The dance numbers are unforgetable and well choreographed. The barn raising dance will entertain even skeptics with men dancing on 2x4's! For musical enthusiasts or families wanting good clean musicals for their children this movie is a must. My only criticism being the unrealistic side of the movie. Finding a woman to marry you in one day and her new brothers-in-law finding love at first sight in one day is unrealistic, but ultimately not harmful.

If you enjoy musicals, then Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a must for any movie collection. It is one of those diamond in the rough movies that the big wigs of Hollywood never thought would be much of anything an yet it earned 5 academy awards in 1955 and won for Best Music. It's just a classic that should be cherished and enjoyed but everyone. Additionally, I am a part time nanny and the 7 year old little girl who I take care of loves to watch old movies. This has become one of her favorites, along with Meet Me in St. Louis. You have to agree, she's got good taste. Buy this DVD. It's worth it.

I may be pretty young, but I love old movies! This is one of my faves! I can watch this movie over and over again. It is a musical, old movie, but FUNNY! If you don't buy it, at least watch it once in your life time.

My wife loves the story and this set comes with both 1.85:1 and 2.35:1 formats. The 1.85:1 disk was amazing and I have never seen this movie look so good. Also enjoyed the extras.

This is a wonderful musical. It has always been one of my favorites, and when I purchased it for my 12 year old daughter, it became one of her favorites, too!!

The alphabetically named human-relations challenged Pontipee boys are a delight to watch as they sing in this old yarn about trying to get yourself a wife, in a very politically incorrect, possibly-wouldn't-get-made-today kind of way. It's a special kind of movie, that probably isn't everyone's cup of tea, but is worth a try for it's classic nature.

A must see movie!! If you like old school musicals you won't be disappointed

One of the best classic musicals of all time. The dance scenes are fantastic.

This is a belly laugh movie.The mucical is uplifting and entertaining for the entire family.
