The best robotic vacuum out there!

I owned the RV750 that retired already. The SW has been greatly improved and the app functionality, as well. The first set up to connect the WiFi took longer than older Shark robots. But once you’re connected, this is where the fun begins.
The robot starts with exploring your house first. It’s mapping the floorplan of your house, and it’s very very accurate. It recognizes our kitchen island, etc. Once your floorplan was mapped, you can designate the rooms and label them accordingly. Once you’re done, you can select which rooms you want to clean.
Just like that! It’s very impressive. Our house is always clutter. I hate having to do declutter the whole house first before letting the robot does its job. This way, I have better control on which room I want to clean.
I work for a robotic company, and I must say this robot maps and navigates very very well. The new roll brush is also a lot better in minimizing hair tangles. We have a Siberian Husky, so we use this robotic vacuum a lot! Highly recommended!

I got this as a gift for my wife for Christmas because she gets frustrated with all the vacuuming. Our house is mainly one level, about 2,400sqft, and we have the same wood flooring throughout with several thin area rugs. Since we have guests in town for the holidays, we only had the robot map about 1,400sqft staying out of the guest bedrooms.
Assembly was a piece of cake and I set its home base in my office so it can get anywhere in the house without being underfoot. The app was simple, and just a few questions to answer. She named it "Mama-san". After the mapping, I took about 10 minutes to create rooms. Unfortunately, all rooms are squares in the app so if you have any hallways you'll just have to include them as part of a room. Minor, but a way to make it better would be to allow polygonal shapes. The only other downside to the app is that you cannot schedule the robot to clean a specific room on a schedule. It's all-or-nothing. For our house that means the robot takes most of the day to clean the house because it needs to go back and recharge about halfway through. Shark needs to update the app to allow room schedules. There are rooms like the kitchen and master bathroom that could use daily cleaning and rooms like the dining room that could use a once-a-week clean.
From a cleaning point of view, the robot works very well. The brush sweeps the dirt into the vacuum. The vacuum itself is reasonably powerful. It had no trouble with a pile of hair/dust/debris that I created to see how it would do. It even slowed down to get the entire pile. The robot does a good job in the corners and under cabinets. It is short enough to get under almost all our furniture that we can see under and it cleans the perimeter of the furniture it cannot get under. Also, I have a couple of floor power cables (lamp, computer) and the robot can get over them. It slows down to do so, but it can clear them and keep going.
Charging takes about 3 hours. So the robot will clean about 1/2 the house in the morning, recharge, and clean the other 1/2 in the afternoon before we get home. The App tells you what it did. I also showed my wife how to tell it to just clean a specific room, like if she wants the master bath vacuumed after she blow dries her hair.
Noise is acceptable. Less than half the racket of our Hoover upright vacuum. I'm writing this as it vacuums my office and it's not bothersome. It finished by 12x12 office in about 15 minutes. (it has to navigate a desk, office chair, power cable, etc.)
For the price, I'm thrilled. There are much more expensive options out there. We did not get the mop one because we just have too much floor space. But, since the floor is vacuumed all the time, we can quickly mop without a lot of prep time sweeping.

This is the third robot vacuum I have used over the years so I have quite a bit of experience when it comes to knowing what I like and what I don't like. This is my first Shark brand vacuum and it does some things better than others for sure.
Pros:
- The self-emptying feature is really cool. You can run this thing for days without having to empty the debris basin as it empties out when it gets back to the dock. You can also use the app to manual empty if you need to. Just don't forget to clean the filter. Self-emptying is nice, but would love to see a self-filter cleaning model next!
- It can climb up onto secondary carpets well. Other robot vacuums sometimes struggle if you have a carpet on a carpet.
- Good battery life! We had this thing run for about an hour straight on the highest power setting.
- Adjustable suction power is nice. You can get more battery life if you run it on a lower power setting for lighter jobs. But I recommend always running on high as robot vacuums rarely clean anywhere near as well as traditional vacuums.
- AI navigation was great. During testing this model did not get lost or have trouble finding its dock. It also covered every inch of the rooms that I used it in, performing a very thorough job.
- This vacuum runs very quietly! Even at high power, you can watch TV in the background without much issue.
Cons:
-Filters are not as easy to clean as other robot vacuum models. This filter style can be cleaned with a gentle brush, but isn't as easy as some foam type filters I have used before. I've even run some filters through the washer and dryer in the past but you can't do that with this one. I foresee having to buy a new filter every 6-12 months for this unit. It would be nice if this vacuum shipped with 1 extra filter.
- Suction power could be better. While it is not poor by any means, some vacuums have more juice and will clean more deeply. This is a not so bad trade-off for how quietly it runs, though.
Overall, this is a buy. It is a great set it and forget it vacuum that you can create a regular cleaning schedule for within the app and just pop in to clean the filters a couple times per month. Check it out if you are in the market for a robot vacuum!

The Shark AI vacuum is simple to use, set it up once and don't mess with it again. This Vacuum is very simple to set up. Download the app follow a few simple steps and that’s pretty much it. In the box you get the vacuum, the docking station, two brushes and some manuals. Once all setup and connected to the internet, you will start by creating a map of your house. Mine took approx 25 minutes for 1900SQF, and it did a really excellent job on the mapping. I was surprised how accurate it was that the mapping looked like the actual house floor plan.
I am always on top of the cleaning of my house and for the most part is always clean, so I thought. After giving this vac it’s first run I checked on the trash bin and to my surprise I found dirt and other debris. That being said, this vacuum does work and the best part, it does it on it’s own. Something that will differentiate this from other robot vacuums is the way it cleans. This thing is not just going around different places cleaning, it actually does it in a grid pattern meaning better coverage and more consistency cleaning than just random moving around. I noticed that after it cleaned the first zone of the house it went back to the dock, empty itself and then continued to the next zone skipping the previous one, that was pretty impressive.
When it is on it will make some noise of course is a vacuum but is not super loud just loud enough to be noticed. What made a loud noise that actually scared me the first time was the docking station when it does the dust suction from the vacuum. Vacuum seems to be nicely built of course pretty much is made of plastic but the technology behind it and the components inside this thing is what makes it worth. The app is very easy to use and pretty much self explanatory and is a must for the initial setup. For this vacuum to work on it’s own you have to create a schedule within the app. Also in the app you can see when, where and how long it took to clean your house. You can also see a map of the zones it previously cleaned. That feature was not working properly for me at the time of this review. I was able to see the time it took to clean throughout the day but not the actual map.
Another cool feature is that it will work with Alexa and Google Assistance. I tested that with my Google home and it worked like a charm. All I had to do was tell Google Assistant to start shark and that was it, and if you want to send it back to the dock, just say ‘send shark back home”. That was pretty cool, and it worked almost instantly. The dust tray is pretty big, in my opinion. For my home it will take weeks or maybe months to fill it up. I cannot say for others with high traffic and pets. Overall this Vacuum does work and it does it in a systematic way, and the best part is to set it up once don’t mess with it again.

We love our girl named, "Sweeping Beauty". We have a long haired dog and she cleans sooo well! With that being said, we do have to empty our x2 a week. We have a hoover hand held and this girl cleans so much better. We only use matrix cleaning in bedrooms (carpet). This is actually our fourth robot and we are keeping her (others were off brands from Amazon and/or didn't have mapping or self empty). The battery does die faster when we use matrix, but it's no biggie. We just matrix clean the bedrooms when we get home and have an automatic schedule for late at night to run while we are sleeping, which allows her to recharge. No regrets! Makes our lives SOOO much easier. Also, our previous purchase and return was a Roomba i4. The Roomba has nothing on this girl. Buy ittttttt

I absolutely love this device. I am a disabled vet with mobility issues so pushing a heavy vacuum around the house has it challenges. The Shark mapped out my house and cleaning has been a breeze with the app. The learning curve on the app is minimal, within a half hour or so you will be an expert. I have four cats so the cat hair can be an issue. The Shark has done a great job dealing with that but there has been an occasional issue, when docking the vacuum got clogged trying to discharge all the hair into the docking station. The docking station has to be 100% on a flat surface, I had the docking station on hardwood but the edge of the robot was on a rug, it could not dock with the docking station. So I moved it to 100% hardwood and the vacuum had no issues docking. If it wasn’t for the clogging and the finicky docking issues I would give it five stars.

Having had the robot for a month and a low model Roomba prior, I much prefer the hardware itself over the Roomba. The single biggest issue is the poorly implemented smartphone app.
It is far quieter than the Roomba and can find its way without too much trouble. It manages to find its way around the house without much issue and doesn't run into many obstacles. It has had an issue when squeezing through tight places that cause it to start spinning in circles requires assistance getting it back on track. Another issue is that if you move the base station, the robot knows where it is at, but it still decides to run over the bottom part of the base station unless you have it remap the area.
It does return to its base station when full and then resumes when it empties. The only issue is that if you have it running at max speed it does not resume with that speed. It will resume vacuuming with the lowest setting, and you have to reset the fan speed in the app to get it back.
The base station is nice, and the auto empty is definitely nice. Especially since you do not have use a bag for it, thus avoid spending more money and creating more unnecessary waste (looking at you iRobot). The filters for the base station can also be rinsed off, which is nice. That said, the cord for it would be better if it was longer and easily replaceable. It's about a foot shorter than my previous Roomba's base station and the cable cannot be detached without opening the base station. While it is nice that you can neatly wrap the excess cable on the backside of the base without issue, that shouldn't mean the cable should be permanently attached. A damaged cable should not make or break something this expensive.
Finally, the only thing really holding this back is the smartphone app. To say it is poorly implemented is a bit of an understatement. You have to use the app to schedule and configure the robot which is easy enough. The map editing allows you to combine rooms, set high traffic areas, and designate no go areas. You can also specify extra cleaning options and set a schedule in the app. These are some nice features but the app on Android has some issues that are extremely frustrating. First and foremost, the app loses your home/room map and requires you to remap the area every time to get the map back in the app. The robot remembers but the app does not, and this handicaps the robot badly since you have to constantly waste time remapping your home if you want to tell it to clean a specific area. Next is the fact that the app isn't closed after a certain point, the next time you open it will tell you there is a communication error and you can't get rid of the error without force closing the app. If it can't recover from the error, then why waste your time and not restart the app? The last issue is that it does not give you the option to manually enter wifi network information. So, if you have your SSID hidden for some reason, you won't be able to connect it to that network for some reason. What's worse is that their help documentation says you can do it but is apparently out of date. This is a common feature as it is dumb that the app can't handle it.
To summarize:
- Pros:
* Quiet and can get around easily with minimal need to intervene.
* Base station has a cleanable filter and does not require a bag to be emptied into like an iRobot vacuum.
* App has some nice features with map management
- Cons:
* Does recognize if the base station is moved but will still run it over unless you remap.
* Base station cable is short and permanently attached, making it a liability.
* App has some hindering bugs like your map going missing and causing features to become unusable without having the robot remap the area, unrecoverable errors that require a force close of the app and missing basic functionality during setup.

Thank you for your review of the Shark AI Robot Vacuum. We are happy to hear you are enjoying the auto-empty base and some app features. Some suggestions to improve performance would include ensuring to always use the latest version of the app available. For improved navigation the robot requires 26” to navigate properly. If the base is moved and a new map is not generated we would suggest adding a no-go zone to the area. If you require further assistance, our Robot Specialists are available at 1-888-228-5531 Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm EST, as well as Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.

I had a Roomba 980 which was excellent but this machine being 5 yrs newer has a lot of improvements. It is quieter, empties itself, navigates much better, does not get stuck as easy, and is easier to program. Whether it will last as well as the Roomba, have excellent parts availability and be as easy to service I won't know for several years. The Roomba was a snap to fix anything that gave trouble and parts were available. Most of the time it just needed some hair removed from a moving part and most things just snapped apart.

Shark representative was very helpful when my new robot vacuum wouldn’t charge. I returned the one I bought at Best Buy and they provided return shipping. Then I got a new one in a few days. I love it. It will go back to its base to self empty when it's full of hair from my dog and it returns to where it was and resumes. It will also return for charging midway through if needed. I also like that it can work in the dark and hasn't gotten stuck even once. So much better than my previous robotic vacuum!

I currently own another self-emptying robot by another manufacturer and am very pleased with it, but wanted a second self-emptying robot for another floor. I have had many positive experiences with Shark products and was curious on how this Shark AI robot would compare.
The robot vacuum looks a lot like its competitor, but has a large, raised platform for laser guidance (LIDAR). What makes it most different from its competition is that it has a bagless self-emptying base, as well as a single modified roller for cleaning.
Setup
After charging the robot on the base overnight, I was able to easily follow the directions for setup. A voice projected from the unit, but I had a hard time understanding what it said. The initial run to create a map was surprisingly accurate and didn’t take long. I like how I can modify the map to create No-Go zones and permanently block rooms I do not want to include.
Cleaning
I was very impressed with how quickly this robot cleaned all the rooms. I set the cleaning power to “Max” and it seemed quieter than my other vacuum at medium power. The Shark robot seemed to cover all areas while avoiding the areas I requested.
Pros
Quiet
Powerful
LIDAR floor map accuracy
Virtual No-Go zones
Bagless self-emptying base
Low cost
Cons
Taller profile than competitor
After using this AI robot vacuum for about a week, I can state it is very impressive. It has great cleaning power, is quiet, and has great app features, all the while being able to keep the cost low. I would highly recommend this robot vacuum.

This is not my first robot vacuum cleaner, But the best I've owned yet. Especially for a pet hair I have four animals two cats two dogs and it sucks up more hair than I realized was in here… Lol, I've never had a problem with any hair getting stuck in the rollers whatsoever which is a huge win in my book I've had vacuums that cost twice as much that couldn't do that, if I was going to be overcritical I would say it's a little bit loud especially on hard floors, could get the corners a little bit better and wish the app gave a live view of where it was traveling but all of those are tiny little details because overall it is an amazing vacuum does an excellent job everything else is perfect excellent AI, mapping and easy to use app, works perfectly dark or light conditions and it cleans excellently I honestly can't say enough good things about this robot. It's definitely a game changer and I couldn't imagine life without it. I empty the base bin every couple days not that I really need to I just do and I take it apart and clean it once a week could probably go longer on both I just like to keep it clean and working efficiently, otherwise set the schedule and forget about it, it will take it from there. :)

I recently purchased the Shark AI Ultra Robot Vacuum with Matrix Clean, Home Mapping, HEPA Bagless Self Empty Base, and Wi-Fi connectivity in Black, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. This robot vacuum offers exceptional cleaning performance thanks to its Matrix Clean technology, effectively tackling dirt and debris on various floor surfaces. The home mapping feature has been a game-changer, allowing the vacuum to navigate my house with precision and ensuring a thorough clean every time. I particularly appreciate the HEPA filtration system, which has noticeably improved the air quality in my home. The self-emptying base is incredibly convenient, as it saves me the hassle of frequently emptying the dust bin. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connectivity has made it effortless to control and monitor the vacuum remotely using the smartphone app. Overall, the Shark AI Ultra Robot Vacuum is a fantastic addition to my home, combining advanced features with exceptional performance. This is the quietest robot vaccum I have ever owned. I love how it has mapped the house to how it gets right along the edges of the base boards of my kitchen. Compared to the roomba which I have own 3 of them previously, I will never go back. Also impressed on how well it also works on carpets, they looks and feel so clean where I don't have to run my big kirby as much. We own 4 inside dogs so it works just like all reviews said it would. Took advantage of some Black Friday deals and got a robot vacuum for our upstairs. This unit is great. It maps the area you want to clean to create a virtual map of the space. After that you can use the app to tell it to start cleaning and it goes and does it thing. Not to mention if it gets full it automatically returns to the base to empty itself (no bags!) and then just heads back to pick up where it left off (same goes if it needs to recharge)
A few things to note to be prepared when you get a robot vacuum. Yes you need to pick up the spaces before it starts. Otherwise it can get stuck and you will constantly be having to 'fix' the machine if it gets stuck on something. The other thing to be aware of this particular unit is fairly tall, so be aware if you have a low space (for us that was our bed) it will not fit under. Not show stoppers by any means, but something to take note of.
Overall, those cons are nothing when it comes to a constantly clean floor. We run this little guy 3 times a week and don't have worry about it. It self empties and that bin hold a lot, we might empty it once every 60 days. I forgot to mention we have pets as well and this handles all that pet hair without issue.

After owning 2 Neato D7’s in the past, I am very pleased with this purchase. We have hardwood, ceramic tile and carpet in our house. It handles all very well and helps keep up with 2 long hair cats and wife with long hair. Setup and mapping were a breeze. Many great settings and cleaning features, the self-emptying was a great addition over the Neatos, but one thing I miss and hope is added to the app is the ability to schedule individual rooms or zones to be cleaned at a specific time. Currently you can only schedule your whole house minus any No-Go zones. That one addition would make this Vac perfect IMHO. 3300 sqft on normal suction takes about 3 1/2 hrs with 1 recharge/resume in the middle

We’ve only had the vacuum a month, but so far we are impressed with it’s performance. We had another brand name vacuum many years ago and she only lasted two years. Normal battery wear and tear leads me to believe this is a typical life expectancy for the robot vacuum. We will see with Rosie. The dump tank is something I didn’t think I would need, but I’m glad we spent the extra to get it. We own two cars, a German Shepard, and a Husky. The Shark name brand vacuums have always out performed when it came to pet hair. The Shark robot vac doesn’t disappoint when it comes to animal hair either.
We live in a 120 year old farm home and have original hard wood flooring with different pile rugs throughout. Rosie transitions between the two and over the thresholds with no problem. We are truly impressed so far with this little vacuum.

I watched and read reviews on all different brands of robot vacuums for about a month before I decided to purchase this one. So glad I did. Setup was simple and effortless. Follow the directions and let the unit fully charge before use. I have a 2000 sq ft ranch style home. Mapping took about 25-30 min. I was very impressed with how accurate the mapping was. But even more impressed with the performance of the vacuum. This thing picks up dust and pet hair that you can't even see. The amount of stuff this thing picked up on the first run was crazy. I run it about every other day now. The self emptying feature is awesome as well. Once cleaning is complete it goes right back to the base, empties itself, then charges back up. Our home is primarily hard wood but we have thick area rugs in each room. This machine goes right over them and cleans no problem. I've had it for about a month now and have had zero issues. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.
