I received the shark and was trying to set it up for an hour but no matter what I did, it would not connect to wifi and of course without that, it is unusable. I called Shark directly to see if they could help (although I tried every troubleshoot) and they told me the body of the vacuum was defective once I told them the serial number on the back. Ok sure… so they sent me a replacement body and shocker, that one wouldn’t connect either. I ended up returning it to Best Buy for a refund. Positive note if you do choose to purchase and it works for you, I appreciated how small the home/base for this model.. didn’t take up a lot of space

      Hi Lauren,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. That sounds incredibly frustrating, spending so much time trying to connect, only to be told the unit was defective, and then having the same issue with the replacement. That’s a lot to go through, and definitely not what anyone expects when setting up a new device. On a positive note, we’re glad to hear you appreciated the compact design of the home base. It’s great to know that aspect worked well for your space. Your feedback is truly appreciated and helps highlight areas where improvements can be made.

      Kind Regards,
      Shark Clean.

Finally, a Robot Vacuum That Maps Like It Means It

After spending way too many years watching budget robot vacuums bounce off furniture like confused pinballs, I was ready to try something with actual navigation. The Shark Navigator caught my attention with its LiDAR mapping at a price that wouldn't require explaining to anyone. Here's what I learned after putting it through its paces for a few weeks. Setting up the Navigator was refreshingly straightforward. No complex calibration runs or finicky Wi-Fi pairing, just drop it on the charger, download the SharkClean app, and let it do an initial mapping run. That first exploration took about 45 minutes for my 1,200 square foot main floor, and I was impressed watching it methodically scan each room with that little spinning LiDAR sensor on top. The build quality feels solid without being overbuilt. It's not trying to look like a spaceship from 2050, just a practical cleaning tool that won't embarrass you when guests see it parked in the corner. What sets the Navigator apart from the random pattern cleaners I've used before is that SmartPath Navigation. In plain English, this means it cleans in neat rows like you'd mow a lawn, rather than randomly bumping around hoping to eventually cover everything. The spot LiDAR creates an actual map of your home that you can see in the app, complete with room divisions you can customize. I found myself appreciating the object detection more than expected, it navigates around dog toys and charging cables instead of dragging them across the house. The self-cleaning brush roll is the real MVP here though. If you've ever spent 20 minutes cutting hair out of a vacuum roller, you'll understand why this matters. In daily use, the Navigator handles my mix of hardwood and medium-pile carpet surprisingly well. That "50% more suction" claim versus competitors? I can't verify the exact percentage, but it definitely pulls more dirt out of my rugs than my old bounce-around bot ever did. The edge cleaning could be better, it sometimes leaves a thin line of dust along baseboards that needs a quick pass with a stick vacuum. Battery life hits about 90 minutes on mixed surfaces, and the recharge-and-resume feature actually works as advertised. When it runs low, it returns to base, charges up, then picks up exactly where it left off. Here's where this model shows its position in Shark's lineup: there's no auto-empty base included. You're getting just the robot and a standard charging dock, which means emptying the dustbin every couple of runs if you have pets. The bin capacity is pretty small at 0.135 gallons, so if you're coming from an upright vacuum, prepare for more frequent emptying. Still, at this price point, you're getting genuinely useful navigation instead of the random wandering of cheaper models. Bottom line: if you want a robot vacuum that actually knows where it's going without spending flagship money, the Navigator hits a sweet spot. It won't revolutionize your life, but it will maintain your floors between deep cleanings without constantly getting stuck or missing entire rooms. The lack of an auto-empty base might be a dealbreaker for some, but if you don't mind a quick dustbin empty every few days, you're getting legitimate LiDAR navigation and solid cleaning performance for the price of what used to buy you a bump-and-turn dummy. For anyone stepping up from a basic robot vacuum or entering the category for the first time, this is a logical starting point that won't leave you wondering if you should have spent more.

I have been a robot vacuum user for a few years now. Some were great while others proved themselves useless after a year. However, these vacuums all had a common issue . . . the brush. The vacuum brush would eventually get tangled with various hairs and fur. Much like with most upright vacuums, removing the tangled debris is a chore that no one wants to endure. But Shark decided to utilize a self-cleaning brushroll in their robot vacuum. I am familiar with Shark’s self cleaning brushroll with their upright vacuums, and I cannot praise it enough. That all said, allow me to expand this review: Set-Up: There’s not much to setting up the Shark Navigator. There’s the vacuum itself, and there’s the charging dock. Also packaged are two edge brushes for the vacuum. You only need one, and it’s easy to push into place. The other brush is a spare. You will need to fully charge the vacuum before using. For the full robot vacuum experience allowing customization, you can download the Shark app. Once the vacuum is fully charged, you can easily connect the vacuum to your device. At that point, you are good to go. On its initial run, the Navigator will map out your floor area as it cleans, creating a map that you can view on your device. From that map, you can create No Go Zones that you may not want the robot vacuum to go into. From the app, you can create a cleaning schedule. You can even connect the Shark Navigator to Google Home or Alexa, allowing you to say, “Hey Google, start (insert the customized name of your Shark). Performance: I have hardwood floors with a couple of large area rugs in the home. The Navigator had no issue cleaning either of them. I also have a couple of cats, which meant there were a couple of cat toys randomly placed. These toys were a small toy mouse and a small bird type; items that you would expect to create an issue for a robot vacuum. The Shark Navigator avoided these toys with its sensor. This sensory feature gives me peace of mind if I were to suddenly remember that I didn’t pull up all the toys previously, whereas my prior robot vacuum would become stuck on the same toys and create a noise that sounded like a moaning muppet in a bear trap. As I mentioned before, the self-cleaning brushroll is a selling point on an upright vacuum; to have it on a robot vacuum is the deal maker for me. I know there will be a lot of users who will be able to relate to why a self-cleaning brushroll is important, especially if you are a pet owner. The dust bin on the Shark Navigator might appear small, but it collects a lot. Looks can be deceiving and all that. I do suggest that you empty it each time just to be safe, since there isn’t a ‘Full’ indicator to let the user know it’s full. As this is my first Shark Robot Vacuum, I have to say that I am really impressed and am happy with the Navigator. It’s easy to set up, easy to interact with, and it cleans.

I’ve used my fair share of robot vacuums over the years where we are finally at the point that the superior technology of past expensive models is trickling down to more affordably priced models. This is exactly the case here where you get many of the premium features at an affordable price. Right out of the box, this vacuum makes a great first impression. The design is really sleek with the matte gray finish and it just feels solid and well-made giving it a premium feel. The setup was extremely simple. You just plug the dock in, download the app, and let it do its thing. The whole process was completely effortless, and it was ready to go in a couple minutes, which is exactly what you want from a smart home device. The true standout feature though is the actual cleaning performance. The “Smart Path Navigation” isn’t just some gimmicky language as it truly seems to map your home and moves in super organized, neat rows, so you know it’s hitting every spot. My floors are both carpet and hardwood and it didn’t miss a beat transitioning between the two and picked up everything. After using other robot vacuums I was skeptical of the “self-cleaning brushroll” though again I was pleasantly surprised with how it handled dog hair where this was not an issue in the slightest as I didn’t have to touch it at all. Then lastly the auto detection works right on par with what you would expect as it avoids object that may be in its way so no need to worry about picking everything up before you run the vacuum. Overall this robot vacuum checks all the boxes from aesthetics to performance and even battery life. At this price it’s one of those rare products that actually achieves all the promises it advertises. For that reason I would definitely recommend this product!

After my first two robot vacuums died on me mid-clean—both because the batteries just couldn’t keep up—I wasn’t holding my breath on round three. But the Shark Navigator Robot has me genuinely surprised. It feels like it actually gets the whole “clean my house” thing. The Smart Path Navigation is something else. Instead of bumping into walls and wandering aimlessly, it scans the rooms with LiDAR and sweeps in straight lines. Watching it work is oddly satisfying because you know no corner gets missed. Suction strength matters when you have pets, and Shark delivers. My carpets and hardwood floors look better than they have in months, and the self-cleaning brushroll means I don’t have to untangle hair every five minutes. It’s been a literal time-saver. What really sold me is how it detects and avoids obstacles. I’ve stopped doing the living-room pre-clean ritual—no more scooping up stray socks or shifting shoes out of the way. It just glides around like it owns the place. And the battery life? It finally lives up to the hype. It docks, recharges, then picks right back up where it left off. After those past battery headaches, this feature feels like a godsend. Voice control makes it even smoother—I just say the word, and it starts rolling. The box came with everything I needed, including two extra side brushes, so setup was a breeze. If you’re tired of robot vacuums that ghost you halfway through a job, give this one a shot. It’s reliable, powerful, and actually smart enough to earn its keep.

Ive had Shark vacuum in the past and the one that we have here is a more budget friendly offer from Shark. even for a budget Vacuum it still offer some great features including Smartpath navigation with LiDar. a self cleaning brushroll to help wraps from hair which is comment specially when using vacuum, honestly on everyday cleaning id say hair is always an issue. But dont think it’s because its more of a budget friendly Vacuum that it wont be strong, its powerful enough to go around on all the carpet I have at home and great on hard floor as well. EXPERIENCE: At home I mainly have wooden floors some tile floors in the bathroom abs I have about 3 huge carpet and two carpet floored room. all has been tested with this Shark Vacuum. Im happy to report that it did not have any issue moving in from room to room to map and and clean my house. Noise level when the vacuum is fairly normal nothing from an ordinary sounds so if you have experience with robot vacuum id say Shark vacuum sounds about standard noise level from what I can tell. Again remember this vacuum is more towards the budget friendly side so don’t expect all the top tier feature is included, it does require a bit more manual work compared to more high end products. APP: just like any other app this Shark vacuum integrates with SharkClean App. where you can schedule a clean time, or control a restricted location to not vacuum the app is easy to use, and is definitely something that helps with the experience. CONCLUSION: not much bad thing to say about this vacuum honestly for the price and its features its a good vacuum. I think if you’re willing to spend $300 for a robot vacuum this wont be a bad of an option. Shark vacuum has great performance, manage to clean my home just like any other vacuum options out there. I would definitely catch this vacuum during sales best buy does alot of sales specially when it comes to robot vacuum.

The Shark-Navigator Robot Vacuum helps so much with keeping up with floorcare. We have multiple dogs, so it is next to impossible to keep our floors clean. Having a robot vacuum automatically clean our floors is a lifesaver. Having owned multiple brands and models, Shark is definitely the quietest of them all. The brush system works great on luxury vinyl flooring and wood floors. The automatic mapping feature finds its way around obstacles and easily finds its way back to the home base. The initial mapping was very accurate. The Shark robots are also easy to clean and maintain. This particular model didn't like my first home network, and I had a difficult time setting it up out of the box. My router had the three major network protocols, including the 2.4GHZ network, but the setup stalled several times without success. I ended up changing to a different network, using the same model of router and the setup worked fine. If you encounter issues, maybe try rebooting your router. Please note that this model is not self-emptying. It cleans as well as any of them, but you'll need to empty if more frequently than the self-emptying models.

We’ve had a number of different robot vacuums and if you’ve shopped for them you know they come in a wide range of price tags. This Shark Navigator robot vacuum’s price should be one of the first things that appeals to shoppers. It’s priced quite reasonably for the features that it has and it does the one, fundamental thing that we want a robot vacuum to do, remove dirt from hard floors and carpet. The initial setup is easy and simplified with the use of your phone’s camera and the included QR code. Follow the instructions to link to your Wi-Fi and you’re off to the races. The vacuum’s mapping capability seems to work really well which shouldn’t be surprising since it uses spot liDAR technology. We also like that you can set rooms on the app and have it go clean a room which is a feature we will use routinely. The cleaning function has surpassed our expectation on both our ceramic tile floors and our carpeted floors. It has handled the dog hair well also which is great because there is a steady supply of that. We’ve not noticed any issues with navigating around clutter or objects that are in its path and it otherwise is very methodical utilizing its row-by-row cleaning pattern. Compared to some of our previous robot vacuums it does strike us as being a bit noisy and the battery life is ok, but not exceptional. Given the affordability of the Shark Navigator we don’t mind that it may have to charge a bit more often since it will return to the base to do so and then return to cleaning where it left off. This is definitely a great value for a robot vacuum that checks off all the boxes for a vacuum that is easy to use and does the job well. We would heartily recommend it.

I've had this vacuum for a couple weeks and am greatly enjoying it. I've had a couple robot vacuums over the years and this one does just as good a job as all the others cleaning wise and is more gentle while it's doing it. Setup is easy. Take it out of the box, take off the stickers and it only took a few minutes to get it setup on my wifi. It did a good job mapping the floorplan and I didn't clean up almost anything. It was able to work around them and get a pretty clear picture of the wall locations. It took about 20 minutes total before I called it back and it had a complete map already. The app is great. It easily lets you change settings on the robot and draw out the rooms. Having the options to only clean certain sections is almost a requirement for me now after having a couple robots that do that because you can target clearing certain areas and not have to try to clear the whole house. The cleaning is very good. It picks up everything I would expect it to and it does it very gently. My other robots have almost seemed like crash dummies because they would just ram into corners and baseboards then spin around. This robot will still make contact but it is way softer of a hit and sometimes no hit at all. The only complaint I have about this robot is it's louder when set at max than my other robots have been at max. It might be better suction also, I don't know but it is a little louder. Not a problem for me though as it cleans after we leave the house. Overall I would highly recommend this if looking for a robot vacuum.

    Shark quality robot with LiDAR

Up front, the Shark Navigator robot vacuum does everything well as would be expected from a Shark product. However, you’ll get the most functionality if you use Google smart home, because then you can activate with voice commands like “Hey Google, start the vacuum” The robot vacuum weighs 6.5 lbs, and is sleek enough to slide under most furniture except my coffee table because it has a really low shelf. Standout features which I consider standard and necessary are a self-cleaning brush roll which reduces the amount of times I have to snip tangles of long hair. LiDAR navigation means the Navigator robot vac fully utilizes its 12” cleaning path in optimal rows, rather than bouncing around at random angles. The smart navigation also helps because if the battery gets low mid clean, the vacuum will return to the base to recharge, then resume the cleaning from right where it left off. The onboard dust bin on the vacuum is decently sized, but ultimately doesn’t matter to me because the vacuum self empties into a main bin in the charging base. So far I’ve only had to clean it about once a week. All in all, this greatly reduces the amount of actual manual vacuuming I need to do, typically only for stuff that gets really lodged into our high pile rug making me use our “real” vacuum. But 90% of the time, the biweekly vacuum schedule is sufficient to keep our area clean enough.

I have been utilizing the Shark Navigator Robot Vacuum, which features SmartPath Navigation and a Self-Cleaning Brushroll, for a few days, and I find its performance to be exceptional. The initial setup process was remarkably straightforward—after charging the device and downloading the Shark app, it was ready to start. The vacuum's suction power is impressive. It handles both carpeted and hard floor surfaces with remarkable efficiency. I was particularly impressed by the Navigation, which accurately mapped my residence and facilitated a thorough cleaning process by moving in an organized, row-by-row manner, providing a greater coverage than traditional robot vacuums. The difference in cleanliness between each room is visibly evident. Another notable feature is its ability to detect and avoid obstacles. As a result, I do not need to spend time clearing so much of the area before initiating the cleaning process; the robot effectively adapts to changes within the household environment. The self-cleaning brushroll is particularly advantageous, as it penetrates deeply into carpets to capture dirt and hair while minimizing the risk of tangling. Additionally, the recharge and resume functionality ensures that the device automatically returns to its charging station when the battery is low and resumes cleaning precisely from the point where it ceased operation. In conclusion, this vacuum has significantly simplified the maintenance of my living space. It combines power, efficiency, and a truly hands-free operation, leading to a high level of contentment with its performance.

Shark - Navigator Robot Vaccuum is very good

Shark - Navigator Robot Vaccuum with SmartPath Navigation is very good. I wish the trash bin was larger. Runs very quiet and efficient. I have had it running every other day. It picks up debris, crumbs, puppy leftovers. Packaging - Was packaged very securely and all components were easy to remove and biodegradable. App - The app took me a bit to get it figured out. The grey checkbox for connecting to WiFi looked like it was already checked and greyed out. That wasn't the case. I had to click on the checkbox and then it let me connect the vacuum to my wifi. I wish it would have been more obvious. I have set alot of devices up on my wifi and usually it is evident when you need to click a box, the option doesn't appear greyed out ever. Cleans wood and carpet flooring without issue. Hasn't gotten stuck on a rug or on puppy toys. Simply goes around the toy if large enough or will suck it up if small. Plant debris is always a challenge in our house and so far no issues with leaves, just stems can get caught in the roller which is pretty standard no matter the make and model.

This is the second Shark Robot Vacuum that we have and as always I am well pleased w/ this one as well. I have had other name brand robot vacuums and granted, they do a good job, however, I truly like the Shark products. This one is NOT a self-emptying like our other but that is what I knew I was receiving. Since I have a previous Shark I didn’t have to download the App all I had to do was add this one to the App, which was seamless and only took a minute or two. I love how Shark has developed the App to work in conjunction w/ our robot vacuums. You can schedule the vacuum to clean everyday, every other day, etc., it’s really up to you how and when you want the vacuum to start. The initial program of the vacuum took a little longer than our other model but they basically have the same “path” of cleaning. I really like how the vacuum cleans and how this model doesn’t have what I call a “handle” on top and it actually goes under some of our furniture where the other doesn’t. It’s sleek, it’s powerful and it really works well. We have two dogs in our home and having both of the robots clean on the same day it really does make a huge difference. In my mind Shark has hit another home run w/ this robot vacuum as well. And I highly recommend it.

Shark knows how to make a great robot vacuum. This is my second shark robot and I've tried a few other brands as well. Nothing has performed as well as shark or been as easy to setup. I did already have the app downloaded as we have a several year old shark robot that will be used on another floor of the house that's not used as often now that it's not holding a charge as well as it used to. This new robot will go on the main level of the home. We have two cats and two young kids so there's always something to clean up. This picks up dirt, dust, crumbs, pet hair and more and cuts down on the amount of times I break out the regular vacuum for smaller messes. The room mapping was pretty neat and I do feel like this newer robot is more effective at cleaning because it doesn't spend as much time bouncing off furniture and redirecting itself while trying to clean. The bin size is pretty comparable to other robot vacuums so no complaint there. Another nice feature for shark in general are the rollers that help prevent hair wrapping, if you have long hair it makes keeping your vacuum in running order a lot easier. I feel like this robot is quieter than some of the older models too and it actually snuck up on a cat that was sleeping deeply and scared him.

TL;DR: SETUP: It’s easy enough to set up. It’s similar to other robot vacuums I use. Unbox, install the side brushes, place it on the dock, connect it to a charger, download the app, and follow the in-app directions. USE: Once paired and set up, you can program it to clean when you want. I have cats that shed, so I usually have to clean out the dustbin midway to 3/4 of the way through; otherwise, it can leave debris and hair clumps. USABILITY: It works well going from carpet to tile floors. It can navigate around the cat’s toys very well. OVERALL: I like it, but wish it had a dump bin or a larger capacity to clean up mainly the cat hair. It’s pretty quiet and unobtrusive. REVIEW: Set up was pretty easy, as it is similar to other robot vacuums I’ve used and/or use. It vacuums well. I used a corded Shark vacuum for deep cleaning. Since receiving this Shark Navigator Robot vacuum, I’ve only used this and the “regular vacuum.” I have this run daily. I used my regular Shark vacuum once a week. The Shark Robot vacuum works for me to keep things tidy between cleanings. I like the vacuum, but prefer the ones that mop and have a dump bin. I like the app, and it’s easy to monitor what’s going on. It’s worked well navigating around the cat toys/clutter. I would say if you need a vacuum and haven’t experienced a mopping-featured Robot vacuum, this is a good deal. This does what you’d expect, plus it’s quiet, vacuums, and is unobtrusive.

Thank you for your detailed review!

We’re glad to hear that setting up the Shark Navigator Robot vacuum was easy and familiar. It’s great that it helps keep your home tidy between deep cleanings, especially with pets around. We appreciate that it moves well around cat toys and easily transitions between carpet and tile.

We also value your feedback on its quiet operation and overall performance. We understand that you would like a model with a dump bin and mopping feature for more convenience. Your comments about the app usability and dustbin capacity are helpful, showing what works and where we can improve.

Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. It will help others who are considering a robot vacuum!
