Vacuum that mops and self cleans.

The Shark Never touch robot vacuum cleaner offers a simple solution to your every day needs. With its ability to detach its mop head to allow for a better vacuum then reattach when its time to mop really helps to take some of the mess out of your everyday chores.
So out of the box you get everything you need to get you going and set up is done within minutes. I have personally never cared for robot vacuums that double up with a mop head as they tend to never do a good job and in some situations can create a bigger mess. Shark has definitely made a huge improvement in this category. One of the first things i noticed is the unit, after it gets done learning your room, will actually detach its mop head and leave it at its base station while it goes around the room to vacuum. Vacuuming is done with a center roller brush and a single side bristle. I wasn't too sure about the single side bristle instead of having two, but the unit does a good job at following the edge line and blows out all dust and debris along the edges making for better pickup. When attempting to go over raised platforms, it no longer gets stuck as it has the ability to lift itself up making traversing uneven planes a breeze. Once it becomes time to mop it will make its way back to its base station, reattach its mop head, fill its tank, and then proceed to mop. The mopping process was actually quite impressive with the units mop head moving side to side to mimic a scrubbing motion and then doubling back over stains on the floor that were not properly removed. When mop time is done or it detects it needs a cleaning the vacuum will make its way back to its station where the mop head is then cleaned all by itself. This is done by spraying water over the mop and then using roller like arms that travel across the mop head cleaning off dirt and debris and making it ready for another run. Emptying the waste bin and refilling the water tank is easy and requires you to not have to get your hands dirty by a simple release chute in to the trash can. I do have two gripes as a shark owner of multiple vacuums. The app software still feels dated and offers very limited options. There is no bi-level settings and functionality is very limited to some very key features. The app kept having constant issues and most times i struggled to access my vacuums current location. Second battery life still seems average with current run time averaging about an hour to a hour and a half. That may seem like a decent amount of time but when you take in to consideration square footage and the amount of time needed to do a proper job, that truly only leaves enough time to do one single large room, such as a kitchen or dining room. With that being said this unit still does a awesome job at both vacuuming and mopping and is sure to help free up some time from your day to day chores.

The best robot vacuum so far!

This is the best robot vacuum that I've ever had! The out of the box experience was simple, and after installing the app, a small bit of configuring, and Rosie 2.0 was mapping the floor. You can name it whatever you want to in the app. Once that was done, I sent her out on her first vac and mop job. It had no problems going from wood floors to the tile floor of the bathroom, to the carpets in the bedrooms. It had no problem with the area rugs in the living room and the dining room. It did occasionally move the rugs, so I'll probably have to get some rug tape to hold them in place. I set up a schedule for her to run while the house is empty and it's nice to come home to clean floors. And of course, you can send her out any time you want to through the app. It's neat to watch it come back to its home base, it approaches it, spins around and backs up onto the home base. My previous robot vac just pulled into the base and backed out when in use. Another neat feature is when you tell it to go mop, it knows where the rugs and carpet is and won't mop that area. I really like this one and Rosie 2.0 will be around for a long time. FYI, Rosie 1.0 was a different brand and was given to my son for his house,

Improvement over the last model, still a great buy

Robot vacuums are getting more and more reliable each year, and this latest iteration of the PowerDetect series from Shark is no exception. It has noticeable improvements over the last model, while retaining all of the great qualities from before. While there are many choices on the market for robot vacuums, Shark has put out a very competitive model that makes it hard not to choose this one over the others.
To start off, the NeverTouch base lives up to its name. It is able to smartly handle emptying the vacuum and wash and dry the pads making the only interaction required between you and the robot is through the mobile app. The dust bin and water tanks in the base have a generous capacity, and are extremely easy to empty/refill without spilling anything in the process. All the dust filters are accessible without much hassle or moving the base from its original position. It is a great feature to have all of the filters washable and no dust bag to deal with; the only consumable item needed is water and some cleaning solution. One improvement over the last model is the ability to detect obstacles like wires or shoes, especially in low light conditions. This is likely due to the light that now turns on when it is dark enough. The route it uses to clean your floorplan is efficient and cleans everything in an organized manner. This can all be monitored from the mobile app, which is extremely easy to use for scheduling or configuring options on the robot itself.
While this vacuum does a good job most of the time, it is not perfect and it shouldn’t be expected to be perfect. It is not the best when there are varying floor types in inconsistent places, such as rugs on a hard floor. The constant lift up seems to make it lose some vacuum power and because of that there can be debris missed on the rug sections. In addition to that, while it does a good job to not get your carpeted sections wet, there can be a situation where it’s on a hard floor but straddling parts of a rug and so there would be about an inch of overlap where it’s mopping the rug.
Overall, if I had to choose again, this would be the robot vacuum to get based on all its features and conveniences available. If you already own the previous model, it might not be a big enough improvement to get this one, unless the heated washing of the pads provides a better peace of mind for you.

So with any robotic vacuum and I have tried several, the mapping is never perfect and takes a few "scans" of the room before it gets close. This Shark is no different. I had high hopes but this was another underwhelming experience. This unit is very high on tech. Self emptying, it refills its tank, cleans and dries the mopping pad all of which are nice on paper. It boils down to the suction power isn't anything to get excited about. I ran it twice after set up and it missed things that it should have picked up. Small crumbs and routine things that any vacuum should pick up. The mopping will never be as good as doing it manually and that too left a lot to be desired. I know this is an overall negative review, but it's an honest opinion. Set up was fairly straight forward and only took about 15 minutes or so. While this is no problem on Shark's part, if you have a foldable phone, when your setting it up, I was only able to use the full set up when i used only the front screen and not the interal larger screen. After I figured this out, the rest was easy. It did do a good job navigating between carpet and non-carpeted floors and rises itself to transition itself between the two. I was hoping for more from this unit. I wouldn't recommended this one sorry.

This has got to be the smartest, most convenient vacuum mop I've ever owned. Using the water tank, it refills itself and cleans the mop pad for a fresh mop session everytime. It detects corners and adapts to different floors so as not to mop carpet or rugs. It also detects corners and edges, and adjusts the power accordingly. What makes this vacuum stand out with the edge detection is the vacuum's ability to blow air to break up the debris from the edge to the front of itself. After the debris is cleared, the mop pad SHIFTS from under the vacuum to tough the edge for a fuller clean. Truly a mind-blowing feature I'ver never seen before. The setup is easy and satisfying, the app is clean, user friendly, and google/alexa compatible.
With so much technology going in this product, I have reservations as to how long the features will function flawlessly. Hopefully with routine maintenance and the quality of the accessories can make the experience an enjoyable one for as long as possible. Especially with how pricey it is.

I got the Shark - PowerDetect ThermaCharged Robot Vacuum & Mop with Heated Mop Cleaning NeverTouch Pro Base - Black hoping it would be better than the other 3 previous robot vacuums that I already have that all let me down. The Shark claims it can go where others can't, but in my case, it couldn't go the same places the others couldn't... I have hard wood floors in the majority of my house, and Tile in the kitchen and bathroom, and just like the others, the Shark couldn't make it over the transition strip/threshold molding board. So now I have a 4th vacuum that doesn't clean my whole house. Maybe I'll just put 1 in each room... The build quality of the Shark is the average plastic round hockey puck, but the mop is just a micro fiber pad that gets drug around, it doesn't even spin. On the plus side, the Shark vac does include a cleaning solution so it isn't just using water to clean, and there is also a deodorizing plug that goes into the top of the base to keep it from stinking of dirty mop water. The physical set up of the vacuum is pretty easy, and the app set up was mostly easy, but it did seem to glitch out several times towards the end of set up. The vacuum simply wouldn't work no mater what I did. I hit the go button in the app, and nothing happened, and the app seemed to reset back to the beginning, so I ran through the steps again several times and still nothing. Finally I was in the middle of crafting an email that my vacuum was defective, when it just started working... After the robot ran it's initial run around my house to create a map, the app displayed the map on my phone, but it didn't look anything like my real floor plan so I had the robot run it again. It seems like there is a really large lag time between instructing the robot and it actually getting the instructions. The app is a bit wonky also. On my Android phone, the app does not resize it's instructions to match the font selected on my phone. In order to be able to see and read all of the instructions correctly I had to go into my settings and reduce the font size to minimum so the app would display the set up instructions where I could read them. If I was using zoom or a larger font the instructions just ran off the end of the page, but would not allow me to scroll down. Over all this is just another robot vacuum. It's pretty close to exactly the same as my other ones. It did promise to be better, but unfortunately it's more of the same. I already have another one that does a better job cleaning and vacuuming. Overall this isn't bad, and would probably be perfect for someone that doesn't have transition strips between rooms. I also had higher expectations based on the advertising.
