The One RoboVac to Rule Them All...almost!

This robot vacuum/mop combo really has it all. Not only does it vacuum and mop on its own, the dock station has a built-in reservoir for lots of mopping and emptying with no involvement from you. And it attaches and detaches the mop so that when it's vacuuming, it can be the best vacuum. It has a lot of super smart features and overall works great. However, it's not perfect - for the price point, there are a couple of things, mostly on the software side, that are not quite as good as they should be. Hopefully, future updates will fix some of these. PROS - Almost entirely self-contained - Strong vacuum picks up all dust, dirt, debris - Mop does a good job cleaning - Station holds cleaning water, dirty water, & vacuuming debris - Perfect Map of House Floors - Easy to set up Rooms and clean just specific room/s - Spot Cleaning works great - Great at getting over and around obstacles - Brilliantly detects carpet/rugs vs Hard Floors - Easy to set up NO GO boundaries/areas - Great maps to show cleaned areas after completion CONS - Alexa/Google Assistant integration not working - Not great at navigating around chair legs/dining room table - Not great at updating in-process cleaning in app - Pricey - Manuals/Guides/Instructions somewhat lacking I have owned MANY robot vacuum cleaners over the last ten years, including a couple that did have "mopping" capabilities, but this is by far the most advanced one I've owned. I never used the mopping on the old ones because it required manually filing the tank then telling it to mop and then manually filling it again when it ran out of water during the middle - also it was pseudo-mopping, not real mopping. This Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro fixes all those issues with it's smart design that let's you really "set it and forget it." A robot vacuum is only as good as its ability to actually clean so let's start with that. This robot has strong suction and while at first I was surprised that it only has one spinning brush on one side where most robot vacs have two (one on each side) it seems to have been designed and programmed in such a way that it just doesn't need two in order to clean. It vacuums and picks up dust, dirt, dog hair, food crumbs, etc with no problem at all and seems to get everything off the floor. It has done an excellent job vacuuming our kitchen (with several thick anti-fatigue mats), dining room, hallway, guest bathroom (with two floor rugs) and large open walk-through area which have both wood laminate flooring and tile (bathroom & kitchen). I previously had a robot vacuum that also did a great job vacuuming, but where this one sets itself apart is the mopping capability. It also does an excellent job mopping. It covers every square inch of all the rooms mentioned above (except for the bathroom since the floor there is mostly covered by rugs so the vacuum intelligently knows not to mop there) and it actually mops and cleans the floors. The mop even extends out a bit from the base of the vacuum on demand to reach edges! My spouse is obsessed with house cleaning and this means he'll not have to mop the floors himself nearly as often since this Shark PowerDetect mopping robot actually does a great job mopping and cleaning all the hard floor surfaces. When you start the robovac for the first time, it drives all over your house mapping out all the floors. When it's done, you have a perfect map of all the rooms it could get to. You can then inside the app, designate and name specific rooms/areas, and you can also designate NO GO rooms/areas. This Shark robovac adheres to those rules exactly. I can go in the app and tell it to vacuum the hallway and it will go to the hallway and vacuum then return to its dock. I can tell it to mop the kitchen floor and it will mop the kitchen floor. And I can leave bedroom doors open without worrying about it going into the bedrooms since I've marked them as NO GO zones. So, just as a robovac, the Shark PowerDetect is great! But what makes it worth the higher cost is the NeverTouch station and the intelligent way this robovac can take care of everything on its own. The station has two water reservoirs - a large one that holds the cleaning solution and a smaller one for "dirty" water for after cleaning. The robot not only mops the floors but after returning to the station it self-cleans the mop and the dirty water from that process is deposited into a reservoir for emptying later. It then dries the mop as well so it'll be clean and ready for the next job. The station also has a bagless dirt bin where the robovac self-empties after vacuuming. This is a large bin that won't need to be emptied often and it also has a nice odor neutralizing exhaust. Depending on how often you run the vacuum and mop the floors, you might not have to empty the bins or refill the mop water but once every 3-6 weeks. Another super cool thing this Shark robovac does is attach and detach the mop from itself. I don't know how it does this, but it does. When vacuuming, the robot detaches the mop and leaves it in the base station so that it's not being dragged around getting dirty while vacuuming. Then when it's time to mop, it reattaches the mop and gets to it. Also if the robovac runs out of cleaning solution during mopping, it will return to the station, refill, then continue. In the app, you can tell the Shark PowerDetect Robot to vacuum the whole house OR mop the whole house OR vacuum then mop the whole house. Oddly, when selecting specific rooms to clean you only get the choice of vacuuming OR mopping, but you can choose to vacuum then mop which I think is rather lame. The vacuum does a great job of detecting objects (it won't crash into your precious furniture) and floor surfaces. It won't mop on carpet! And if it needs to go over a rug to get to another hard floor area, it lifts the mop up higher so it doesn't touch the carpet. It also is able to get over things like thick mats with no problem. One thing it doesn't do so well is navigate around dining room table chair legs. I'm not sure if this is because it's so obsessed with making sure no inch is uncovered, but we started putting the chairs on top of the table when we run it sometimes because it will spend as much time vacuuming around the dining room table as the whole rest of the house and this is because of the way it navigates around the chair legs. (Our previous robovac handled this gracefully and had no issues.) Maybe a future firmware update will fix this issue - I hope so! The Shark PowerDetect Robovac could use some improving in the software and app area. Although I had no problem connecting my Shark account to Alexa and Google Home, neither are able to detect the vacuum. I've tried many troubleshooting steps to no avail. I miss the ease of telling Alexa to have my robovac clean which is what I generally did with my previous one. Also, my previous robovac app allowed me to see exactly where the robot was during cleaning and had exact routing that showed every move of the robovac. The Shark app only updates the location of the robot from time to time and doesn't show where it's been or it's route. Once a cleaning is complete, you can view a map that shows the entire area cleaned and indicates vacuumed only, mopped, and powerboost areas, but it doesn't show you the specific route/s. The app also doesn't send notifications when things are started or done which would be nice. There was no guide/manual in the box which isn't a big deal, but the app and the online guides also were not the best. Getting set up was easy, but there's not great info on things like "How often do I need to replace the mop pad? Will the robot/app tell me?" Not a huge deal since I'm fairly techy and good at figuring stuff out, but I wish there was a good video that just was like a "you got a new product you've never used before, here are the highlights, here's how it works, here are the important things you need to know." One good video could replace a 20 page guide easily enough. Overall, I'm so far loving the Shark PowerDetect Never Touch Robot Vacuum and Mop! It's super intelligent, great at vacuuming and mopping, and mostly a set-it and forget it device. I do hope they can improve the dining room table & chair navigation and fix the Alexa integration as these are two of the biggest things that keep it from being perfect along with a few app/software improvements. But the hardware is nearly flawless. The docking station with the water reservoirs and dust bin and automatic everything really gives you all that you could want in a floor cleaning robot.

I really like this model as I do have an older version of this that you need to switch out the mop adapter. I also like that it lifts up when comes to a carpet area.

After the better part of a decade using robot vacuums, I am now firmly sold on their capabilities and the convenience of not having to worry about vacuuming or mopping after a day’s work. And one of the best things about technology is that it continues to adjust and improve on products and keep up with competition. Being one of the most recognized brands in the vacuum and mopping industry, Shark has firmly established itself as one of the leaders in the industry not only because of their innovations but also because of their prices. Shark was somewhat late in the game regarding higher-end robot vacuums but they appear to have taken advantage of that by studying the market’s competition and creating a product that can stand its ground amongst more expensive brands while still performing at their levels. Shark’s latest PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro, Self-Empty, Self-Refill & Self-Clean, Robot Vacuum and Mop might be just the robot vacuum and mop we’ve been waiting for that does the job you want it to while keeping the cost down in comparison to others in the market. Keep in mind that with these all-in-one vacuums and mops with self-emptying features tend to be quite large therefore you’ll have to think about where you want to place it in your space as that might be a deciding factor. Fortunately for us, we already had a robot vacuum around the same size in the area we planned on putting the new PowerDetect base station. As expected, out of the box, the base was relatively large but not as heavy as I expected however know it does get heavier once you fill it with water. Set up was very simple as most of the entire product was already assembled with the exception of the base ramp and the small corner brush that needed to be installed on the bottom of the robot vacuum and mop. Other than that, it really was as simple as plugging it in and setting the rest up through the Shark smartphone application which will walk you through the rest of the process. After a software update and full charge of the robot, I initiated its inaugural mapping process of the floor in the area I have it set up in which is one of our high traffic areas. After the initial mapping, I also ran another map sequence for the areas where we have area rugs in as the rest of the floor is luxury vinyl plank laminate. This helps to ensure that the mopping feature is not getting your carpets or rugs wet when cleaning. Once the robot detects a different surface, it will lift or lower the rear end of the vacuum where the mopping attachment is located to ensure it’s not mopping where it shouldn’t be. Once the cleaning is completed, the vacuum with return to the all-in-one base station, empty the dust bin and even clean the mopping pad before wetting it again with the clean water stored in the base’s tank. If the robot is just scheduled to vacuum and not mop, it will detach from the mop attachment so there is no need to lift the rear end while cleaning making it faster. The smartphone application will advise you when the clean water needs to be refilled. After using several other brands robot vacuums for the better part of a decade, I was surprised not only of how fast the robot is while mapping and cleaning but also how quiet it is in comparison as it does not have that high pitched vacuum sound I have been accustomed to. This was also somewhat concerning as I wasn’t sure if that meant it didn’t have as much suction power as our previous model and might miss some debris however after running it for several days I ultimately didn’t notice any significant difference in the cleaning results. Overall, I have been impressed by the PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro’s capabilities and features in comparison to the other robot vacuums I have used in the past and especially at this price point where some other brands are 50% more expensive and have the same, or similar, features. I would recommend to anyone in the market for a high-end robot vacuum that ultimately saves you time and effort in our busy lives.

After spending some quality time with the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro, I can confidently say this is one of the best robot vacuums with a mop combos I have ever used and can truly say that it is a game-changer in home cleaning. Designed with advanced features like self-emptying, self-refilling, and self-cleaning, it takes convenience and automation to an impressive level. Setting up the PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro was incredibly easy. After unboxing, I was immediately impressed with the sleek, modern design that fits well into any home décor. The instructions were straightforward, you just scan the QR code on the vacuum, which takes you to the app store to download the shark app and then just follow the step by step instructions in the app. Starting with connecting it to Wi-Fi and syncing with the Shark app took just a few minutes. The app itself is user-friendly and offers easy access to various features, from scheduling cleans throughout the week, deciding if rooms are vacuum only, mop only or a combo of mopping and vacuuming and to monitoring the vacuum’s progress. Once connected to the network, the Shark will then go into mapping mode, where it will map out the floor plan of your home. I was shocked at just how accurately it mapped out my place, and indicated which rooms in the house were hardwood floors, which rooms had carpet and which rooms had rugs in the rooms with hardwoods. The Shark PowerDetect navigates well thanks to its intelligent mapping system. It’s able to remember my home layout after just a few runs, and it avoids obstacles like furniture legs, cables, and pet bowls without any issues. In tight spaces, it maneuvers effortlessly and doesn't get stuck in any weird corners or under furniture. The object avoidance feature is particularly impressive; I noticed that it recognizes and avoids socks, pet toys, cords and other small items instead of pulling them in. One of the standout features of this robot is the powerful suction and intelligent PowerDetect technology. It’s able to identify areas with heavier dirt or debris and ramps up its suction power accordingly and for those hard to reach corners it will shoot out a gust of air to push the dust and dirt out so it can suck it up. I tested it on various floor types from tile, hardwood, rugs, and carpet and it consistently performed well across all surfaces. Even high-pile carpet wasn’t much of an issue for it, which is a huge win compared to other robot vacuums I’ve owned, where it would get stuck on a simple bathroom mat and not be able to finish the job. This is not the case at all with the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro and it lives up to its name. The self-emptying feature on the dock is a dream come true. It holds up to 60 days’ worth of dust and debris, which is particularly useful if you have pets with long hair or children who tend to bring in a lot of dirt. The robot automatically empties itself when it returns to the dock, which is a big plus for people with busy schedules. Additionally, the self-refilling feature for the mopping tank is incredibly convenient. It ensures that the mop is always ready to go, without any need for manual refills before each cleaning session. I have now convinced my parents that they need to get one of these for the lake house, since they will go weeks at a time without visiting and this is the perfect device in order to keep the lake house clean while they are not there. As for the mopping function, it exceeded my expectations. I hate mopping and would never do it myself, unless there was a spill and that would mostly be just taking a wet paper towel to the spot. The Shark comes with more than a decent size water tank and thanks to the self-refill feature, it doesn’t require much attention. It lays down just the right amount of water to clean without leaving floors too wet. The Shark PowerDetect's mopping path is precise, and the microfiber mop pads do a thorough job of removing light stains and dirt. It may not handle deeply embedded grime, but for day-to-day maintenance, it’s great. And say spill a glass of apple juice on the floor, you can just go to the Shark and tap the spill tab in the app and give you a crosshair where you can then tap on your home's floor plan and the shark vacuum will go to that area and mop up the spot. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet this vacuum is, even with its powerful suction. I could run it in the early morning without worrying about disturbing anyone, which is a big plus for families or shared living spaces. When it self-empties at the dock, there is a brief louder noise, but it’s not disruptive and only lasts a few seconds. I can honestly say this is one of the quietest Robot vacuums I have used to date. The NeverTouch Pro is genuinely low maintenance. The bagless 60-day capacity for debris means I don’t have to empty it often. The self-cleaning feature also saves time since it minimizes the build-up of dirt in the machine. Additionally, the app sends notifications when it’s time for a quick checkup or if anything needs a manual intervention, which hasn't been necessary so far. This Shark vacuum has great battery life. In my experience, it can run for about 2 hours on a full charge, which is more than enough to cover an average-sized home. If it runs low, it automatically returns to the dock, charges itself, and then resumes cleaning where it left off. I really like that it doesn’t miss any spots or require manual re-docking to complete the job. Pros: 1. Powerful suction with PowerDetect: Automatically increases suction in dirtier areas. 2.Self-emptying and self-refilling: Truly hands-free for up to 60 days. 3.Effective mopping: Precise mopping without overly wet floors. 4.Efficient navigation and avoidance: Smart mapping and good object avoidance. 5.Quiet operation: Operates quietly, suitable for early mornings or late nights. 6.Low maintenance: Bagless design and self-cleaning feature save time. Cons: 1.High initial cost: Premium features come with a high price tag. 2.Limited deep-cleaning for mopping: Great for light maintenance but not for tough stains. 3.Self-emptying noise: Although brief, self-emptying can be a bit loud. 4.App dependency: To maximize features, the app is necessary, which may not suit everyone. Overall I highly recommend the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro in that it is one of the most versatile robot vacuums I’ve used to date. It’s definitely an investment, but the features make it worth the price for anyone looking to minimize household chores and maintain a clean home effortlessly.

The Shark PowerDetect Pro Robot Is Awesome

Received my Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro robotic vacuum and was anxious to try it out as I already own 3 others but different brands. It was packed nicely and included was an extra side brush (this only uses one), a second mop pad, Odor Cartridge and Shark Multi-Surface cleaner in a 12 oz. bottle. There was the base unit, a ramp and of course the robot. I proceeded to set it up using the included instruction sheet. Removed all the protective wrapping. I had a perfect spot in my kitchen to put the base and ramp as you need a level hard-floor surface and also good WiFi. The ramp easily clicked right in place on front of the base station. Inside the lid on top you'll find the clear water container on the right side and the dirty water container on the left. Both have handy handles making it easy to remove them. There is also the Odor Cartridge assembly and then on the far right and side is where you pull out the dust bin. No more bags to purchase which I was quite happy about. I attached the single side brush on bottom of the robot and started in. I then downloaded the Shark Clean App on my phone but you can also press the Dry icon on the vacuum to start just a dry clean. The app offers mapping, scheduling, No-Go Zone placements and cleaning reports. I then let it fully charge and got ready to test it out. Shark offers you different names for the robot when you make your account and I chose Sharkira. The first thing Sharkira did was explore the house in order to produce the map. It was very thorough and the map was pretty much right on when finished. It basically cruised all around the edges of each room. After that was done I started the vacuuming process. I was surprised how quiet it was. Sharkira did bump into a few things but as time goes by it will learn the layout better and I'm sure that issue will go away. One thing to note is there is no suction adjustment ~ it automatically senses when there is more or less dirt to collect. That was one thing I must admit I was a little disappointed in. Once it was done vacuuming it headed back to the base station which it found without issue and emptied. This thing really cleaned even without the suction being adjusted! I seriously thought my floors and area rugs were clean but this Shark found cat fur and dust I didn't know was there. It also hugged the corners around the bases of my kitchen cabinets ~ something my other 3 seem to lack the ability to do so properly. If you have places you don't want it to go simply edit the map and place NO-GO zones. Simple to do. You can also divide the rooms by drawing a line. My rooms were automatically numbered and where I have rugs the map shows little dotted patterns. You can choose which room you want cleaned and even do a SPOT CLEAN which will do just an area you want done. That is such a great feature! The app also has a battery level indicator on the upper right corner and will tell you if your water tank is empty. It then states MISSION COMPLETE when cleaning is over. You will need the app to use all these features. As far as the mopping part I found Shakira to be very mindful not to dampen any of my rugs. The back end will lift up where the mopping pad lies. There is a self clean and dry feature for the mopping pad and if you are not mopping the pad drops off at the base station which is really cool as it's not being used anyway. I was impressed with its mopping ability but as I have another cleaner specifically for my hardwood flooring I probably won't be using that feature often but wanted to test it out. No disappointment there ~ worked wonderfully. On the app you can schedule, get the history, enable notifications and other things to make using this robot so easy to use. I really enjoy watching Sharkira in action while I sit in my recliner! It connected perfectly to my WiFi with no dropped signals or issues. Never got stuck anywhere either ~ climbed easily over the thresholds my other robots have issues with. I can definitely recommend the purchase and it's a real asset to my robotic vacuum cleaner collection! Shark has a true winner here and it's now my favorite luxury robot!

I’ve had a Shark upright vacuum for years. It still works like I just took it out of the box and it has been through A LOT of use. Shark produces quality products and I’m excited to share my experience with the first robotic vacuum I have used from Shark. First Impressions My expectations were high being that this is a Shark product but just reading the outside of the box and seeing all of the smart features of this device, I was blown away and thought well, maybe its too good to be true? Unpackaging and setup was pretty easy and took me around 15 minutes to get everything out, untaped and ready to go. Shark did a great job of providing the step-by-step instructions needed to get up and running. At first glance, this unit is nice. Its big, but it’s nice and aesthetically not intrusive. It feels very well made too. The design of the base, water stations, odor control, and dust bin are very unique and I was very eager to get the device up and running to see how it performed. A side note about the instructions: First and foremost, read the instructions and follow them. Based on where my previous robotic vacuum was located in my home, I decided to put this in the exact same spot even though the instructions clearly stated not to put it on carpet and that it needed a certain amount of space around the base for the device to properly function. I ended up running in to a mess of issues because I failed to follow the instructions. I ended up moving the location of the base, and factory resetting the device which resolved ALL of my issues. Battery Life Ill jump right in to the battery life and say it is adequate for the amount of features this device has. I can vacuum my entire area which is approximately 638sq ft and it takes about 81 minutes. This is running vacuum only. When doing the vacuum and mop, it does have to go back to charge before it can continue and finish. Im fine with this. I typically run it at night when we are asleep or when we are away from the house. I have no problems at all with the battery life on this device. Simplicity Not only was setup easy but the robot is extremely easy to run, schedule to run, choose exactly what you want to do whether you only want certain rooms, or even certain spots cleaned. I’ve tested all of these features in the app and they work great. The app is very nice and the user interface is very simple and easy. It was designed very well and I have yet to have any issues at all with the app or use of the robot. It has never got stuck and this is likely due to the “Never stuck” feature. My previous robot vacuum got stuck often and its very inconvenient. Convenience Speaking of convenience, the never touch feature is just an absolute must have. Ill never go back. It empties itself, it cleans and dries the mop pad following the mop cycle, it fills the unit up itself prior to the mopping and if it runs low during the mopping cycle, it will return to the base and get a refill. The technology in this robot vacuum is truly next level. The dust bin, waste water bin, and water fill tank are large. The claim is that they have a 60 day capacity but that is very subjective and solely based on how much you use it. I have lots of kids, so I use it daily. I myself, based on my personal usage, can probably get about 30 days realistically. Performance Overall, I’m very satisfied with the performance and cleaning capabilities of the unit. With the included advanced edge cleaning features, I really notice a stand out difference in just how much better this unit cleans than my previous unit. I really put it to the test. I even unintentionally did a glitter test. My daughters dress for homecoming made quite the mess with all the glitter literally everywhere and this unit did an absolute fantastic job of cleaning it. On the first pass, I would say it cleaned up 90% of it. On the second run, its obtained 99%. Which was very impressive given the absolute destructive nature of the glitter dress. The mop cycle of course helped tremendously in this glitter clean up effort but I definitely notice when the unit has been through a cycle because my floors are very clean. Both carpet and tile. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a durable, high performance, and very convenient robotic vacuum/mop combo. It works extremely well and I am very satisfied with the product.

    30/60 days? Really?

So, like most things, results may vary. This robot vacuum claims up to 30 days on refill/empty and 60 days on capacity, but that is completely dependent on the size of the rooms and how much activity is in those areas. If you have like 250 sq feet and only part of it is hard floor and you left the house for 30 days, it would almost certainly be able to keep the dust from accumulating on the floor in that area. But, an active area, with pets, kids and several hundred square feet, you might get 2 weeks out of it. Now, this isn’t to say that is a bad thing. Compared to the majority of vacuum bots we have had over the past few years, where you have to empty them after every use, or every couple days, this is far better. This is just like every other device that makes the best claims and puts in the fine print, based on XYZ type usage. Even still, this is by far one of the easiest robot vacuum and mop I have ever used. All the dirty work is done by the bot as it empties and cleans itself after doing the task. It even dries the pad to prevent any mold or bacteria build up. Setup of this bot is pretty simple. Basically put the ramp in place, open and install the odor neutralizer and the side brush under the robot, plug it up, fill up the water reservoir, install the app and off you go. It does an explore round, which at this point you want to make sure you have all the doors opened or closed pending if you want the bot to go in there and some movable objects out of the way so it knows to clean there when the object is not there. Then it maps the place out and even sets them up as specific rooms. Like in my image, the kitchen, hallway and bathroom are all hard floors, but open up to the living room which has carpet, so it shows the living room as a separate room. When using the de\vice, in the app you can choose the whole mapped area or which rooms to clean or a spot on the map and you can choose to vacuum, mop or both. When you choose both, it will vacuum first and start by doing the edges with the rotating edge brush. Then, it will do the middle of the areas in a nice pattern. It then returns to base, fills up with water and goes out to mop in a similar fashion. The mopping however, is like that of most robot vacuums and is mostly just dragging a wet cloth around the floor. It does not suck up any of the water along the way. Once it has done its job, it returns to the station, empties it vacuum contents, drops the pad and begins cleaning and drying. The little tune that it plays, I swear is “like a good neighbor”, but surely it isn’t, right? The cleanup that you have to do every “30 days” or so is simply removing the waste water and dumping it out, refilling the clean water and sliding out the waste bin to empty out. The waste bin is the only thing I find odd as you have to slide it to the right to get it out. So, you can’t have a wall or other item to the right of it unless you want to move the whole thing any time you want to empty it. But, once out, it is simply pushing a button to drop the bottom out of it and possibly pulling some hair. There is more advanced cleaning, like removing the washable filter, cleaning the pad or replacing it as they give a spare, but these are typical things that on a regular bot you would have to do nearly daily while this one can be months later. Overall, this robot is great for keeping the house cleaned up. I feel like with every new iteration we are getting closer to The Jetson’s or other cartoons from the mid 1900’s. The only next logical step is for them to detect when something hits the floor and cleans it up right away. But, simple, convenient and not something you have to check on every day or even week, while it does part of the chores for you.

I’m a big fan of Shark/Ninja products; I own quite a few both as review units and as purchases. I have a 10-year-old plus Shark regular vacuum that I still bring out for manual jobs, and it still works great. I own a few Ninja kitchen products that I use almost every day, I love them so much. But I found the Shark - PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro to be a bit of a disappointment, at least in the limited time I’ve had to work with it. It's not that the NeverTouch doesn’t have some incredible features; it definitely does. It’s just that the actual implementation of some of those features either don’t deliver on the promise or fall short. I found the initial mapping to be trying in comparison to my current Roomba. It took me at least three tries before I could get a map that resembled my layout enough that I could figure out which rooms were which. I’m hoping that this will get better over time as the algorithm gathers more data from ‘missions’, but to be honest the first time I looked at the map my Roomba created, I knew exactly which rooms were which. The ability to raise and lower itself to account for thresholds and carpets is great and it really worked well with my older home’s higher room thresholds. Although my Roomba was able to cross over them it always struggled and would take multiple attempts before entering the room. The Shark rolled right over them, but it did get stuck in an area of my living room that I don’t remember the Roomba having an issue with. While it was easily remedied by editing the map with a no-go zone, this exposed another feature letdown. Had I not had the app open and running, I wouldn’t have known the Shark was stuck as it produced no notification of the error condition. I checked to make sure I had notifications enabled on my Android phone and they were, but I get no notifications when a mission is complete, failed or stuck. I also made sure that in the app settings that Push Notifications were turned on – they were. I’ve never seen this before in all my years as an Android user (a lot more than I’d like to admit). Usually, the problem is getting too many notifications! I find this unacceptable. Yeah, it’s cool that the robot talks and announces its status but that only works if you’re in the same room or have excellent hearing. This alone is costing the Shark a star; it makes me hesitant to run the vac unsupervised which is entirely the point of owning a robot vacuum, right? I tried researching this but found no explanation why the Sharkclean app doesn’t work like every other Android app. It’s a real shame as the vacuum and base themselves are pretty awesome. I really didn’t expect the mop to work as well as it did but after a session in my living room my floors looked as clean as if I had done them with a Swiffer wet mop, yet without the streaks. But this led to another disappointing discovery; while the Shark can do a vacuum first then go back to base and pick up the mop for a mopping mission, it can ONLY do this in WHOLE HOUSE mode, either on demand or as part of a schedule. You can’t send the NeverTouch to a room and specify a vac and mop, nor can you do so in Spot Cleaning mode. To clean my Living Room, I had to first run a vac mission and wait for it to be completed then send the Shark out on a separate mopping mission. Again, it *did* work well, but it begs the question WHY? It's not all bad news though; the vac cleans really well and some of the features like Dirt Detect and the ability of the unit to blow dust out of the corners and edges of a room into the suction path work amazingly well. It is quieter than any other robot vac I’ve used, and the odor control pack is a welcome upgrade. When my Roomba did a dustbin evacuation, it sounded like a jet engine spooling up and then the entire room smelled nasty, like warm dust for half an hour or more. The Shark just makes the room smell nice when it evacs. And I actually have run the vac in the room while watching TV, something I could never do with my Roomba. I think the Shark NeverTouch has some innovative features and works well, but it’s Achilles Heel is the app/software. While that’s a shame, I’m hopeful that feedback will improve the areas in which it is lacking. I can’t argue with the end results, and I believe the marketing hype that I won’t have to do much beyond emptying out the water and dust catch bins once every 60 days. But the notification thing and some of the software eccentricities are things I feel a potential buyer needs to be aware of and need to consider. For the first time, the brand has let me down in these respects, but I have faith that Shark will improve.

more and more vacuum company is definitely leaning toward having an AI robot vacuum to clean your space not only that of of them doesn’t just vacuum it also mops, there’s tons out there with that feature and honestly it helps a lot considering sometimes you drip sometimes that just sticks to the ground having a simple vacuum mop does help a bit, i’d rather have a robot vacuum do it for me rather than me not being aware at all. and here we got shark latest power detect 2 in 1 never touch pro vacuum. yeah that’s one long name for a vacuum. DEVICE The whole overall built quality is plastic but with the weight and the vacuum is pretty heavy the overall packaging doesn’t feel cheap. the vacuum has the ability to shelf empty itself. Shark claim this has up to 60 days debris storage, also have the ability self clean and self dry, the vacuum has the ability to senses floor type, so you won’t have to worry about having wet carpet when it’s mopping the floor vacuum would adjust itself. the main vacuum has a small water tank that can empty and refill itself, make sure to not forget to install the small brush when unpacking the device, some might over look it coz I know I did. i’m keeping this on my basement space since it’s the flattest area around that house and I also have my washer and dryer with vent that tend to dust up the floor. basement also have an door for the dog to come in and out and it’s usually the area that stays wet due to my dogs bringing in some dirt or water due to wet grass, shark vacuum did it work and recognized the dirty floor near the back door and kept the area clean without me doing it myself. it was perfect it did such an amazing job keeping the busy area clean. I APP you can’t have a smart vacuum without an access to the app, standard features including mapping the space is currently at, ability to name your robot, my basement is not that big so mapping did not take long. you also have the ability to spot clean certain area you want the robot to focus on and again I kept using it in the morning after the dog goes in and out. the UX design of the app is very clean easy to use overall I had no complaints I feel right at home being able to navigate on shark application. CONCLUSION first if you’re a shark device fan I think this definitely one to look out for the amount of feature the vacuum offer is way more than enough to keep your space clean and not worrying about cleaning it atleast shark claim within a 60 days time frame, the vacuum has been a great thing to have down the basement, with easy setup, not worrying about dirty from front door to back door shark has been a great addition inside my household. from all its feature I think shark has done a great job building this 2 in 1 vacuum and I highly recommended it.

Some Great Features but Needs Improvements

I’ve had various robot vacuums over the years, but this is my first experience with a Shark robot vacuum. Given Shark’s reputation for making excellent vacuums and cleaners, I had high expectations for the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing so far. Issues from the Start: To begin, I followed the steps to connect the robot to the SharkClean app and my home WiFi network. The robot then explored my home to create a map layout of each room. After the setup was complete, I selected the clean option in the app and had it mop three rooms. Halfway through, with the battery still at 50%, the NeverTouch Pro announced it was returning to charge and would continue cleaning when ready, which could take up to three hours. This was confusing since the battery wasn’t low, and it had only been running for about 40 minutes. Twelve hours later, the app still displayed the same message, and the cleaning buttons were greyed out, so I couldn’t do anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and even initiated a factory reset. I went through the entire setup and mapping process again, only to encounter the same issue, even after turning off the ‘Recharge and Resume’ setting, which should of prevented that message from popping up at all. I had my wife call customer service to troubleshoot the issue. They suspected it was an app glitch and said they could manually disable the "recharge and resume" setting on our specific robot from their end. The issue was escalated to another team, and about 20 minutes after the phone call, the problem seemed to be resolved, and I was able to set cleanings again via the app. NeverTouch Feature: The whole point of the "NeverTouch Pro" name is that you’re not supposed to have to constantly fix/ adjust the robot or perform frequent maintenance. This feature initially drew me in because every robot vacuum I've owned in the past has always gotten its wheels stuck or failed to avoid certain obstacles such as getting tangled on phones chargers, requiring me to fix the issue manually. During its first full house vacuum and mop cleaning, the Shark got stuck twice and notified me both out loud and within the app that it needed help because the side wheel was stuck (it was stuck under a chair). Then, it couldn’t locate the dock and informed me to place the robot onto the charging dock myself. That meant three times I had to touch the robot during a single cleaning. Additionally, I’ve noticed it struggles with navigating around my barstool chair legs. It circles around them for a good two minutes before freeing itself and continuing to clean. What I Love: The vacuum and base are very compact and easy to fit nearly anywhere. I absolutely love the bagless dust bin in the auto-empty station—finally, I don’t have to throw money away on bags that just hold dirt and dog fur. It’s super easy to pull out the bin and dump it into my trash can. The odor neutralizer in the auto-empty station is a nice addition; every time the vacuum empties itself, I no longer smell the mildewy dust and dirt that my last robot vacuum/mop left behind. It is very quiet when running. I can even schedule it to auto-clean while I sleep without it waking me. The App/Settings Needed: The SharkClean app is very basic, easy to use, and understand, but it lacks many features and settings that could be easily implemented in a future update. I was able to edit my map to split and merge certain areas/rooms and label each room from a drop-down list. However, I would prefer to label rooms myself, such as naming bedrooms, closets, and the nursery. I don’t like my son’s room being labeled as ‘Guest Bedroom.’ During cleanings, I wish I could see the path the robot has taken to know which rooms it’s completed thus far. The app definitely needs a child-lock feature to prevent button presses on the robot itself from starting a cleaning run. I have a very curious 1-year-old who loves to crawl over and press the buttons. I do love the ‘PowerDetect’ feature, which uses five powerful cleaning technologies to control the amount of power/suction the vacuum uses when it encounters certain messes. However, I would still like the option to schedule a cleaning with the suction strength set to its highest level for the entire duration of the cleaning, especially since I have a dog and would enjoy manually set deep cleans occasionally. In Conclusion: While the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro had a promising concept and some strong features, my experience was marred by technical glitches and navigational issues. The SharkClean app, though user-friendly, needs more robust features and settings to enhance usability. The promise of a hands-off cleaning experience fell short due to frequent interruptions. However, its compact design, bagless dustbin, odor neutralizer, and quiet operation are commendable. With improvements in software updates and navigational reliability, the NeverTouch Pro could become a more reliable household companion.

    SELF SUFFICIENT ROBOT!!!

The Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro robot vacuum and mop that offers unmatched convenience and efficiency. I have to say this is probably one of the best robot vac and mop options that I have tested out in quite some time offering features that I have yet to see on any other robot vac and mop manufactures that I have tested so far. So, lets go over what this Shark has to offer. Specifications: 17.56 H X 18.8 L x 14.33 W - 25 lbs No More Dust Bags: Yes, you read that correctly, even though this robot vac and mop comes with a self-emptying base, it does not require you to change out any dust bags when the dust bin is full. Simply empty out the dust bin and put your robot back to work. There may be other robot vacs out there that may offer the same feature but I have not come across any, saving me time and money. Self-Emptying Base: The 60-day capacity bin capacity. Depending on the level of dust, dirt and debris, this may vary but the dust bin is rather large so you won't have to worry about emptying it out every week. The dust bin exhaust also offers an odor neutralizer, so no more smells either. Self-Refilling Water Tank: The robot automatically refills its water tank for up to 30 days of mopping, ensuring consistent cleaning performance without human intervention. This eliminates the hassle of refilling the water tank every few days and ensures that your floors are always clean. There is also a dirty water tank, which stores the dirty water for dumping later on. The dirty water tank is a bit smaller and may require dumping more frequently. Self-Cleaning Mopping Pad: After each cleaning cycle, the base washes and dries the mopping pad ensuring a clean mop pad is used every time. One other neat feature of this robot is that the mop pad slides out to clean the edges and when you only need to use the vacuum function the mop pad is dropped off at the base station so it's not dragging the mop pad with it unnecessarily. Powerful Suction: The PowerDetect technology effectively picks up dirt, dust, and pet hair, leaving your floors looking and feeling clean. One neat feature that this robot offers is that it uses air to push and dust, dirt and debris from the edges to the front of the robot for the rollers and the suction to pick up, ensuring every edge and corner of your house is clean. Smart Navigation: The robot uses advanced navigation to efficiently clean and map your home. The mapping function took about 10 minutes and surprisingly accurately mapped the house on the first try. Once the mapping function was finished, the robot went back out on vacuuming run to find all the area rug were in the house so that it knows where and where not to mop. Never stuck Technology: This is a really cool feature of this robot vacuum cleaner. The never stuck features allows the robot to do two things. First, it allows the robot the robot to lift up its mop pad so that when its cleaning and mopping it does not mop your area rugs and secondly, it allows the robot to go over thresholds and to get itself unstuck if it happens to get stuck somewhere. My experience with this was when one of its wheels got stuck in one of floor vents and it was able to get itself out and went back to work like nothing. Overall, the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro is one of the best robot vac and mop that I have tested out so far. Its self-emptying, self-refilling, self-cleaning and NeverStuck features make it a truly hands-off solution to home cleaning. I would highly recommend checking out this robot vac and mop if you are in the market.

So far my experience with the Shark Robot Vacuum and Mop has been great. I have used a few different brands of vacuums and mops, and the Shark one is probably tied for the best so far. It does an excellent job cleaning while not running over toys, and the mopping is impressive. I have it set on a schedule to clean one floor, and I have two small children so as you can imagine there is a lot of stuff left out. So far it has managed to avoid those things and clean where it can. I do wish that the app did tell you where it found things, as right now you can only see where it did not get to clean. While it is a good mop and vacuum, there are a few things I would like to see improved. First is that unless I missed it, you cannot have more than one map. Having a multi floor house means I am stuck with only being able to use it on one floor. Second, the app can be a little slow and I was getting errors for a while with an ad blocker turned on. Last, the robot has managed to get itself stuck under a radiator, so I had to add a no-go zone there but would be nice if it knew it fits but will not be able to come out. One the positive side, the fact that it can be just a vacuum is nice, and when the mop is attached, it does seem to do an excellent job mopping. Others I have used kind of wash the floor a little, but this has been cleaning it well. I have noticed though that near the base you will see water from the mop, so just be aware that it does seem to leave water from when it leaves the base. Overall, if you are looking for something that can both vacuum and mop, and do not need it to store multiple maps, this is an excellent choice.

If you are looking to get one step closer to having your floors always clean without having to do much work yourself, then be sure to check out this Shark PowerDetect Robot. It is advertised to be able to mop your floors for up to 30 days and 60 days for vacuuming with its self-emptying, cleaning, and drying functions. I have been using this nearly every day for about a week and I do believe this claim to be not very accurate based on my estimated usage so far. I have cleaned out the dirty water bucket once already and I am getting close to having to fill up the clean water container, so I would say two weeks is more realistic (depending on your usage of course) My hard wood floors have never been cleaner than they have been this past week. Jarold Jr. is his name, and he is replacing a slightly older model that did not have the PowerDetect feature, nor the self-cleaning ability. The additional ability to clean its own mop pad is an absolute game changer. That was my biggest complaint about the older model was having to clean the mop pad and refill the tank after every use, and if I didn’t clean it right away, it would be harder to clean the mop pad. This solves both of those problems. I just fill up the large water tank, add 12 oz. of the included solution, and off it goes. This little guy is pretty smart as well, it will lift itself up to raise up the mop pad (in mopping mode) if it detects carpet. The previous model I had to set up no-go zones and for most that would work, but I have an area rug that manages to get moved around by my kids all the time, so I was not able to rely on the no-go zones, but this doesn’t need that anymore, it just detects the carpet and lifts up its little rear end. It’s fun to watch. It also does this same thing over my air registers (vents) that are on the floor. The set-up experience on the SharkClean app does need some work. I have three other shark robots, two of them had maps and one is just a dumb one that I can tell to clean, and it just bounces around randomly. When I added Jarold Jr’s map, I lost the maps to my other units. I had to have them re-explore their areas to get the map back and that was a pain. This will probably be fixed in an update, but that was my experience as of this writing. I do wish the app had a live tracking feature so you can see where your robot is currently. It will, however, give you a report at the end and shows you the areas it cleaned. Otherwise, the app is pretty good overall, and it is pretty easy to use. The cleaning performance has been great in my opinion. It will not clean up to the edges of your walls though, but it will shift the mop pad about half an inch towards the wall and it does get closer than my other one did. Cleaning up the daily footprints that my kids and dogs make on the floors it handles with ease, any stuck on mess will require a little more effort though but if you use this for maintenance cleans between deep monthly cleaning, then this is perfect. You will find your manual deeper cleanings to be easier overall with this little helper. As far as the PowerDetect feature works, I have no idea, there isn’t much in the way of instructions that are given to you in the box so you will have to look up some of that, as well as what the status lights mean. In the box is everything you need to get started and also some spare side brushes and a spare antimicrobial mopping pad. Shark keeps making their robots smarter and better with each version and I can honestly say that this version is the best one yet.
