If you want to set it at 20 seconds, you hit 2 and that is all it will allow. The unit will start with 2 minutes. You have to stand by the unit and manually stop it after 20 seconds.

Stopped Working Almost Immediately

Returned it and got another Panasonic. Only complaint until then was that the features were not well documented in the manual. It had special buttons for Beverage, Dinner Plate, etc. but they had preset times that the only way to learn what they were was to RUN them. The manual told what they were for but not what the preset times were. They were not programmable either, which would have been nice.

Would take over 30 minutes to heat a cup of coffee and it still was only lukewarm. Had to return it. Bought a different brand at another store which was closer in the event that one had to be returned as well. Very disappointed in Sharp as I thought that would be a better product.

Compared to her original model this one is much lighter and more compact with the same heating capability. It does have a one touch feature that allows you to add 30 seconds by pressing the start button. Only drawback, which one reviewer has already stated, is that the light only comes on while in operating mode and not when you open the door. Otherwise, no complaints. It's a good, simple, streamlined microwave that works.
