Really like it got for gift and it has been great so far

Bought this microwave in July 2014 for a household of 4 adults. We use it for basic warming of food, melting of butter and boiling of water. Three weeks after we purchase it, it would not heat food while being turned "on". The appliance would run, but the food was not warmed. 24 hours later, it worked with no problems. Fast forward to 4 ½ months later and it is not warming food or water while in the “on” mode. No more second chances for this device. Also, the interior light will only come on while the device is “on”, not when you open the door. Not a good design.

Worked OK for a year or so, although beep signal (couldn't be turned off) was annoying. Became more and more noisy when heating, and today in use there was a loud, sharp (pun!) sound and flashes/sparks inside.

I am really rating this early. I just ordered it and it is replacing a Sharp I had for 12 years!!! So I am going for another one!!

ordered this online for store pickup because i had a sharp a few years ago that i really liked. at the store i asked that it be taken out of the box so i could check for damage before driving it home. it looked to be okay but when i got it home the door could not be opened no matter how i tried. looked at the sharp website in hopes of some kind of help but this model was not on their list of microwaves and there was no phone number for assistance. boxed it back up and drove it back to the store and was told i could not get a refund because there had to be at least a 2 hour window of time before a return could be processed from time of pickup. time of pick up was at 4:15pm and time of return was at 7:15pm. the store manager on duty was no help at all even when i showed him that the reciept had a wrong time of 8:49 pm. bottom line is i left the store without a microwave and also without a refund of my money. needless to say not a fan of best buy at the moment.

This microwave will cut off my TV reception every-time its on. My other microwaves didn't have this problem. My TV is in the room next room. Don't buy this product if your using an wine-guard antenna for local channels.

Microwave worked great for 2 months. Then one morning it just stopped cooking. The light turned on and the turntable revolved but it did not cook. In process of getting a replacement oven through Sharp.

Remodeled my kitchen March 2015. The microwave I had been using since 1986 (yes 29 years!) still worked but would over heat at times, plus it wasn't very attractive. I needed a countertop size microwave to replace it that went with black appliances. After 13 months, the start button quit working, rendering the microwave useless. Just goes to show they don't make things like they used to! Now I have to go find another microwave.

I bought this Sharp microwave to replace another Sharp that held up for almost four years. This model is cheap... but sadly, it looks like Sharp cut corners on this one. The revolving plate is almost impossible to mount, comes off constantly, and doesn't cook evenly. Sharp has definitely dropped the ball on this model. I'm not a happy camper!

Overheated and shut itself off after approx. 8 minutes of full power cook time. First time used for this long. After it cooled down, power returned and could reset clock and use for short periods of time. Oven arrived on 9/5/14 and failed on 9/13/14.

We've had it a little over a year and have no complaints.

Good Product. It works well. Worth the money. Very Nice.

Just bought this a couple days ago and I am gonna return it asap. It just feels like a piece of junk, it sort of wobbles on the countertop, not firm or secure feeling like my old LG. I will say that the one time I used it to heat some leftovers it seemed to work ok. I am definitely going back to LG though.

At first I thought this was a good $$ deal - until I tried cooking an 8 minute meal. The unit shut down at 7 1/2 minutes. It over heated and would not turn back on. Left it unplugged for a half hour, then it worked later. None of the vents were blocked - unit sucks in air in the back and exhausts it out the left side. Contacted Sharp over two weeks ago. NO response back from them - they evidently don't care. Quality of the box is extremely cheap. The case metal is just thick enough to hold the paint on. Whole unit vibrates while running. Turntable now makes noise. Gonna turn this one back in.

The other 1-star reviews for this microwave are spot on (and I'm surprised they're not more prevalent): Had this microwave for less than a week before the problems started. The product overheats easily and shuts itself down, returning to life 10-15 minutes later to maybe cook for another minute before repeating the process if you don't give it even more time to cool off. The unit is physically quite hot to the touch when this happens, and the fan isn't blocked or anything like that. Our experience was that it'd cook for about 3-4 minutes (if not used recently) before reaching its shutdown temperature. I also found that, when it did heat, it was inefficient -- taking longer than other 1000W microwaves to get food to the same temperature. Bottom line: This microwave should be avoided.

Owned a Sharp microwave for over 17 years.....replaced with a Kenmore when we redid our kitchen....that one only lasted 5 years, replaced that with a GE that lasted only one year. Thought.....let's go back to Sharp, that was the best microwave we've owned in the last 20+years.....this one lasted 32 days! Very disappointed....maybe we just got a lemon, but certainly don't think we overuse our microwave any more than the average family of 4. Thankfully I am a Premier Silver RWZ member and had 60 days to return since I was two days past the BB return date (BTW was told today that as of March 1, the return period will be reduced to 15 days). I returned for a refund and have ordered a Panasonic...hoping this one is going to do the trick!

Ever since we purchased this microwave it has not worked properly. When you heat more than one consecutive item, the microwave stops heating the second or third items. For example, if we tried to make two bags of popcorn for a family movie night you had to keep adding time to the second bag so it would pop completely. We had the same problem with reheating multiple dinner plates in a row. The other day while heating up a bag of steamed veggies the whole thing got too hot and shut off completely. Wish I had returned from the very beginning.

My previous microwave was a Sharp Carousel and given that, plus good reviews, were the reasons I purchased this one. While melting some butter, the microwave made an odd humming sound and emitted an eerie, sci-fi type light. After unplugging the machine, I inspected the interior. There was an ugly burn mark on the right-side wall. My previous Carousel lasted over fifteen years and this one lasted just a few days longer than two years.

Can't even boil water when set on high for 5 minutes. Power panel not very responsive. Cannot defrost frozen pea soup given 10 minutes on high power. This died 2 hours after initial use. Bought unit based on strength of 10 year old Sharp micro use and Sharp's reputation. Sharp no longer make quality microwaves if this unit is representative of what they manufacture. I was very disappointed and I have to return to Best Buy. I'm exchanging it for a Panasonic. I'm told their microwave really cook. Don't buy this, or you'll be as disappointed as I was.

Many of the the other 1 star reviews are speaking right to me. This thing began to act up about 9 months in. We make a lot of baby food and heat it in order to process it. It won't even run on high for 5 minutes now, and recently if we can get it to last 5 minutes the food is barely to where we need it. I purchased it in November of last year ('13) after an LG (from Best Buy) lasted us about 2 years. Just because its a countertop microwave doesn't mean that it should be disposable like this. RIDICULOUS
