TV randomly loses the color profile and colors go out of sync. I have to go to device settings to reset it .. few times had to reset the entire TV settings back to factory defaults for colors to get back to normal.
Very frustrated with the quality

I love this TV! Great picture quality and Android TV works a treat.
70" @ 8 ft away is perfect. It's like a projector experience!
Remote is totally fine, but has a ton of buttons on it. Could use some simplification. I actually really love the legs of the TV stand. Quality strong metal. Paired with the IKEA BESTÅ TV stand looks really snazzy.
Speakers are not bad for a tv. But of course, get a soundbar. So much better than any built in speakers will ever be. Basically a requirement. :-)
Thanks for the great deal BB!

One of the best values you will find for a 70" tv. Performance and picture quality is pretty close to the current major players but at a much cheaper price. Sharp is now owned by Foxxconn and they seem to have improved over what was previously made by the Sharp branded Hisense made TVs of the past few years. I like the android tv interface. Only complaint is that remote control is not always very responsive.

Great TV for the price. You're not paying OLED $$$, so don't expect that kind of performance. The size is great, the metal legs are awesome, Android TV works fine and gives you tons of apps to install. The speakers are backfiring, which is rare to find these days. Although they're better than a lot of other TVs, a soundbar would be ideal.
The panel does have some backlight bleed and cloudy areas, and it seems to be different in each panel. If the TV will be used in a dim movie theater for watching dark movies, the light bleed will bother you. If you're going to be using it in a living room with a ton of light, then you may not even realize that they're there.

deal of the day 499 for 70 inch, okay, wait until black Friday or jump in now? Okay, I jumped in now, delivery was within 48 hours, set up same day as delivered.
Set up was smooth, connected with my phone and picked up wifi password off the phone, set up was buttery smooth, needed an update that took about 9 minutes and then TV was life.
Played with you tube videos and netflix, no issues playing.
Connected my Roku (I only really need TV's for the pictures, don't care about the smarts)
Roku connected seamlessly, no issues, sound bar connected via ARC, also no issues with set up.
Picture> Looks great, okay, am not a professional video connoisseur, I just want a TV with clear pictures, this TV is okay, pictures did not appear washed out, it was well lit and not dark, watched game of thrones, slaying of the night king, pitch dark, I could see the action clearly, blacks were black and the faces and skin tone was apparent. Watched some beach scenes on youtube, was also great. My wife thinks its a great buy.
Sound without the soundbar was low, but really good, not 'thingly' like a wafer speaker, surround was great.
4 HDMI inputs (I only really care for two, ARC and Roku), specification on bestbuy states 2.2, setting up the soundbar, had only option for 1.4 or 2.0, so somebody is lying or wrong about specs.
Remote is boxy but very smooth and intuitive to use.
Android TV (likely won't use), but tested and is okay, apps downloaded and connection and casting with phone was smooth too.
Overall, a good buy,
will it drop below 499 on black friday? I don't know.
Should you buy it, why not,
Will it last? I don't know.
It seems this set was made by Sharp (original) and not hisense. does it matter? don't know.
I can live with this TV and I set it up on the floor to watch for a few days before hanging up on the wall.
Really looks great so far.
Note, I suspect this might be a better buy than similarly priced LG and Samsung TVs and could play well in the 1200 to 1500 priced sets from LG and Samsung.

I worked for Best Buy Service for 20 years and repaired Electronics for longer tan I care to admit, and Sharp products have always been a great product. I still have a Sharp Aquos in my bedroom and it has performed almost 20 years without a flaw, so when I saw that Sharp has restarted designing and manufacturing for the US once more, I figured I'd try one.
For the most part, I'm very happy with my decision.
So without further ado, let's get into it.
The GOOD:
The price of the TV for this size screen. Excellent!
Obviously, this is a priced to attract your attention model.
The quality of the picture is surprisingly good. Is there some light bleed? Yes, it's a characteristic of any LCD TV with a back light. Is it awful? No, but again, if you look for it, you'll see it. but under any normal everyday use, especially in a well lit room, it will not be an issue. Remember the price of the TV, it's NOT a flagship TV, but the picture is very good.
The Mediocre:
The sound is handled in an unusual way also. Instead of two small speakers firing downwards, Sharp has two Loud and Clear speakers that fire backwards. This may sound strange at first, but it actually works rather well. The speakers have NO bass to speak of, or high frequency to them either, but they are LOUD, and they are CLEAR. Sharp claims 20 watts, and I believe them. This in my opinion is preferable to two small muddy speakers trying to reproduce the 20-20K spectrum and failing. you can easily hear dialog clearly with this setup. If you are using this as your main TV, get a sound bar.
The Bad:
There are but two things I'll add here. This one is on you Sharp.
Who on Earth creates a remote shaped like this? It doesn't sit flat. It rolls onto its side, or upside down... or more likely off the table onto the floor. Don't do that. Remotes should have a flat bottom.
Lastly, Google - -err, Android TV. If you were an early adopter and bought a "Google TV" or Google TV box, you know of it's shortcomings. Few Apps, crazy weird menu functions, a remote that was huge to accommodate all those buttons, that never got assigned to do anything. Well, Google is nothing if not repetitive. Welcome to Android TV. A home screen of adds that play. Apps that can't be removed from your home screen, even if you don't ever plan to use them. Sounds like a phone OS we're use to doesn't it? Want to start watching the movie and adjust the brightness or turn up the sharpness? You can't! ... no, seriously ... you can't. You must return to the home screen to adjust the screen settings. Unforgivable. We all know that each App looks different. That's why TV manufacturers give separate setting menu's in their TV's operating OS.
Not if it runs Android TV though.
Welcome to Android TV! ... It's Google TV all over again. Yeah, it really is that bad.
If you are not comfortable with multiple depth menu's, Android TV is not for you.
Sharp, if this came in a Roku TV alternative, I would have GLADLY paid more for it.
That sums it up for my review. I can live with Android TV, and perhaps Google will update it to correct it's obvious shortcomings, but if their past efforts indicate anything, I won't hold my breath.
Good TV, poor TV operating system, from a dependable, familiar company.

I love my sharp tv. I had to wait like 3 days to see my tv, but the wait was great. Its beautiful and love the simplicity of it as well. Yeah the sound was a bit weak but I didn't mind it at all. However, I just add my boom box to it and it sound more mellow now.
Looks better than my other expensive name brand tv. I am glad Sharp bring this out. I always live my Sharp. My 65 inch sharp aquos died suddenly after 9 years. Lived its life so when I saw this Sharp I had to get it. Price right and great deal plus looks. Just beautiful to me. Thank you Sharp for making affordable and beautiful tvs for us.

I love the picture on this TV, clear, sharp, beautiful color. Remote control simple to use. User friendly for a low knowledge of technology like me. Over all I like it very much. As far as internet is very very limited. You can't access to the internet like your phone or laptop to search for stuffs. Google assistance only search for movies or music tiles...

Great tv, great picture and colors except the solid blacks seem a very dark gray than solid black, but not that noticable.
Love the Android experience, a little different than my prior LG smartTV setup.
The remote is a little different design compared to a very functional LG remote, but just a matter of getting used to it.
Sound quality is mediocre, but as expected with all these large flat panel TVs, I have a nice Yamaha soundbar to provide the sounds, bluetooth connection to the soundbar is great, but the remote doesn't power on the soundbar, no big deal.
Great selection of apps and online content, with customizable main screen and setup.
Price was pretty fair and specs are great for the this size TV.
Overall I would highly recommend this TV.

Tv is def worth the money for its size.
Picture quality is good to VG, system setup was a little difficult to do as far as sound settings.
I am using a Sony Soundbar with HDMI connections.
Setup instructions could be a little better.
I bought this because I had a Sony TV die on me just out of warranty.

Overscan issues with OTA 480i and 720p unsolved

The TV is not a disappointment, but it does not leave the same impression that my 60" Aquos from 2012 did when I bought that TV. The menus are difficult to navigate, and the manual uses language that does not match what appears on-screen.
I have to assume this is a newer model that the US support team doesn't have enough experience with. I've been working with them to determine if there is a solution to OTA overscan, but it's resulted in about 15 phone calls and 5 emails without a solution or a definitive answer yet. Further, they provide me with suggestions that cannot be completed on the menus.
I'm satisfied with the picture quality, and I like the Android TV interface -- though I think Roku is still the king of smart TV interfaces. I'm disappointed that I'm unable to tune the color, contrast and brightness while I'm watching a streaming program. I can do it with OTA by pressing TOOLS on the remote, but the only way to get to picture controls for streaming content seems to be to hit HOME and navigate to the settings -- and this, of course, exits the apps.
There is no better price for 70" TVs today. Black level appears to be very good on this TV, though it doesn't get very bright. Colors are good. SDR 4k looks good. Streaming 4k HDR isn't so good -- the image appears very grainy. However, I will keep fiddling with this for a while.
If the overscan issues can't be fixed, I will be returning it. We watch specific local networks for news, and we rely on the bottom of the 720p broadcast for headlines, weather and time in the morning.

Sharp picture, great display. AndroidTV is far better than the experience I have had with other Roku and Tizen based SmartTVs. As with any smart tv, the OS seems a bit sluggish compared to standalone boxes like the Chromecast and FireTV but isn't anything to really complain about.
Make sure you get a soundbar or sound system with ARC to pair with it. The audio from the built-in speakers isn't great and my current LG soundbar lags behind in audio with this tv for some reason.

Love the TV; hate the remote control.
This TV has such a great picture. Love the look of the bigger screen on my big wall and it doesn't overpower anything.. The remote control, on the other hand, is just awful. Buttons are not convenient, size and shape are unwieldy and awkward. Not a big thing because I can get a universal remote, but Sharp needs to change this remote design.

The tv is average at best there is a distinct difference between video quality for smart TVs settings and outside video sources. My ps4 with hdr settings look way better with same program Hulu or Netflix than onboard programs. Also I see white spots on screen when on black scenes. Lastly sometimes when streaming I get a rainbow effect. All the pixels light up with color and it kind of looks like snow from older TVs but with color. It only happens while streaming on onboard apps. I remedied that problem by unplugging the set and plugging it back in. I do realize that it’s a budget tv but if I continue to have issues I will definitely take it back. The remote is horrible if your looking to simplify your set up. You can’t program a receiver to it and clone it to my harmony smart remote had mixed results. Some of the buttons just won’t transfer.
Bottom line when it works it’s great and your most likely not going to find another unit this size for this money. I really can’t recommend it or turn anyone away from it.

Great picture, easy setup. Nice and light weight so easy to move. I bought this 3 weeks ago and it has already updated the software. The sound it not very good. I have used a Bluetooth speaker with it which helps. But my hearing is not great. The way movies & TV shows are made today the music is louder than the words which makes hard to watch some of them.
