I am extremely impressed. Sharp's tuner app is ideal over others because of sheer response time. I like that it also looks very standard. It's not graphics heavy and straight to the point like hardware/non-smart based TV sets. Android TV takes a day or so to get used to, set up and customize. Once you have it down, it works very well. For anyone that may encounter sluggish/unresponsive use and/or frame drops on certain apps like Twitch on first use or Android TV Remote not pairing. I would advise to clear the app data. This works out kinds and helps performance considerably. One caveat with Android TV is volume normalization. I don't know of a feature in Android TV that does this, so I hope either Sharp or Google can develop something to normalize sound throughout all applications.

For the price I could not ask for a better TV. Great picture, easy to use. Only negative is the speaker, however I use surround sound so wasn't worried about that.

This is a lot of TV for the price I paid. Based on price it should get five stars but it's a very solid TV with a great size and very cheap what else needs to be said and this TV has been in service for nearly 3 years and has given me no trouble

The tv itself is wonderful with many apps to heighten the experience. I enjoy the large screen and ability to use google assistant. The only downside is that the remote is difficult to use. The buttons work most of the time, but are difficult to press and dont always register to the tv.

Great picture! Easy to connect to apps, chromecast, etc! Low stars are for the fact you have to re-boot occasionally and you almost always have to hit buttons on the remote twice to get a response(in a very tiny living room).

Overall a great value. The screen is sharp and bright, and when in use it looks just fine. When you get an all black screen, or a very dark scene in a show, you can see subtle splotches of light coming through. Not at the edge really, but perhaps 4 random clouds around the middle to lower half of the screen. While the android tv is the first we have had and works great, we use Firestick 4ks on all our TVs otherwise, and have one installed here. Works perfect. Also using a 5.1 soundbar with this tv, connected via HDMI ARC. Works great, and it is so convenient to only need the Firestick remote to do everything it is supposed to do, as well as control TV power, and the audio through the soundbar.

We have bought sharp tv's for years.we have a 32" in the bedroom that we have had for 0 years. not one problem.we had a 42" in the living room that was 1 5 years old and recently started ghosting and burned in images.we replaced it with this 70" from best buy . bought at best buy because they are the only ones that I could find that sold sharp.set it up myself.should have bought geek squad and had them set it up.thought it was a roku tv instead it is an Android tv.wants Google password to download apps.don't know my Google password.but did get the Disney app.set up picture and sound the best I could.if I had to do it again would have got geek squad to set it up.it is a good tv.

Was in need of a TV and saw the Sharp Aquos 70" for $499. Best deal I've seen in a while. Delivery was fast (second day) and trouble free. The image is sharp (no pun intended) and the lighting is amazing. Much better than my 75" lg tv. Controls for navigating on screen is superior to samsung and lg. The apps scroll both side to side and up and down. Very user friendly. Would highly recommend.

BOOM! I like that Google doesn't take over the TV requiring me to log into Google just to watch. This TV is bangin! I love SHARP TVs, they last so long it's ridiculous. This is my 5th one and by far the best. It has 7 or 8 HDMI ports and the color is awesome. I have a 60 and Four 50 inch TVs, nothing like watching Mandalorian on a 70. You see everything!

Lots of TV for the Money

The Sharp 70" AQUOS Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV presents a lot of tv for a little money. The picture is clear but may suffer from lack of brightness in a room with lots of windows. I ended up buying another tv (Hisence H9) from Best Buy to get a TV that had enough Nits for viewing in an undarkened room. This TV is Sharp's re-entry to the market using their Sharp/Fox Con product. The Sharp Information specialist provided conflicting information on the type of technology used for "dimming" (it's frame). Overall, you would be hard put to find more TV for the money. Try to catch it on sale but it's often sold out.

It's a decent tv for the price, although it isn't as sharp as I would have expected. The sound is great and with it being an android tv it has any app you would need.

Bad Quality - Major Color Uniformity Issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Short: -- Really bad color uniformity in dark scenes. A lot of dirty screen effects. -- Quick access menu for setting requires closing all apps. Can't toggle picture settings or change anything while in an app. -- You can see in the picture the lack of uniformity. The Long: Although I read a few of the outlier reviews that were negative; a majority were very positive. I tried to go by a couple stores to see if any of these were on display. Unfortunately, they weren't. I knew Sharp made good TVs a while ago and the picture quality was excellent, however, this is not the case for me. At first, I was pleasantly pleased. The picture looked pretty good when all lit up, then came a scene from a youtube video where it faded to black.... there were light spots all over the place. The scene had a dirty screen effect. I thought that maybe it was that scene, so I went to a black uniformity test, and sure enough it shows. The spotting is so bad, now I can't unsee it everytime it get dark. The worse part is, my favorite genre is sci-fi, which is almost all dark space stuff. I will try an exchange and see if I got a bad panel. If both results are the same, then its the manufacturer. Also mentioned in another review is the difficulty to access quick settings from the remote. You have to close everything out to change any picture settings or do anything with the menu. Thats a bit annoying. I haven't had a chance to find much positive as the really bad color uniformity really aggrevated me.

I have this T V setup for 2 days now. Coming from a 55 inch LG to this TV, I'm very pleased with overall quality. Definitely an improvement on screen size and finally get to enjoy 4K. I was concerned about native 60 hertz refresh rate, but I do not intend to play game with this TV. I did find out that in my area - Dallas Fort Worth, Fox is broadcasting football game in 4K. This TV does not have ATSC 3.0 tuner (ATSC 1.0 tuner built-in) - so I will not be able to watch football game in 4K OTA. But I don't think it's a deal breaker. I'm happy with what I paid. Hopefully this TV will last a while. I'm also interested in discussions on what settings to adjust to make picture look better. We have Alex and Google Assistant. More Alex than Google. Part of the buying decision has to do with Android user interface. It feels reasonably fast and all the apps are there. Hopefully Google/sharp will keep it updated for a while.

Super Clear But A Little Worrisome

Extremely clear. I didn't give it all 5 starts because at times, it will not turn on right away. Sometimes the screen is black but you can hear the channel on. This is only after 2-3 weeks of use. I hope this is not a long term effect. It doesn't do it all the time but definitely is worrisome. Despite that, it's been a great tv. Haven't plugged it to my new Alexa but should be compatible.

    Sharp 70" Aquos

we have always bought the Sharp Aquos and it has always been very reliable and long lived. The picture quality is excellent. I'm a little picky about imagine quality but unless there is a totally dark scene like inside caves or underwater where flashlights are being used, the black/dark images are pretty good. They don't pixelize or create a halo effects as much. video game quality is extremely impressive. Streaming works great no lag time. I would recommend a wall mount since the legs are fixed and nearly at the end of each side. I think the legs are around 48 inches apart. There are some really good mounts for $21 online that rate 165lbs. This set is 70lb. For less than $600 this TV is more than worth it.
