I bought this for the unfinished part of the basement where the cats litter box is and it works! The air actually smells good considering what is down there.

Great product. Helps perfectly with pet dander and allergies especially living in VA! Pollen season!!

Bought the air filter to clear dust Primarily, clears odors ok but not dust. Should have been made with intake in front not back. Great idea venting air back into room out the top of purifier.

Seems to work well but i failed to notice before i bought it that it does not come with a remote control. I would recomend this to a friend IF they do not care that it does not come with a remote control.

broke in 2 yrs...my unit wont turn off after 2 yrs

We used to have a hamilton beach air purifier that was used for more than a year. It claims to be HEPA but does not meet the 99.97% requirement. Dust doesn't get capture by the filter but are settled on the machine... Then we bought a Germsguardian tabletop purifier that is true HEPA, but the noise is unacceptably loud, so we ended up returning it. This Sharp purifier is AMAZING! It is whisperquiet, settings are automatically adjusted when it senses dust or odor. We personally don't care about having the humidifier function. After a day of use, we checked the filter and, guest what? We can see small fine hairs and tiny dark/grey particulars on the filter! The surrounding air quality has improved noticeably. We are in loved with this machine and went ahead and bought 2 more. What's even better is that the filters life is ~5 years! Highly recommend this product.

This year's allergy season has been dreadful for me. Everything blooming all at once and then the massive winds we've had the last few days have been awful. I suffer with terrible allergies this time of year as well as migraines and puffy eyes. Got this and within minutes could tell the difference. I love the pollen and quick fix options which I'm not sure the other models include. When on either of those options, it is loud - like an a/c in a hotel room loud but when it hits the stable level, it turns down significantly. You can set it on a timer and control the speed of the fan. When on low, you can't hear it at all; medium sounds like white noise. The filters were very easy to install. So far it's awesome! Yeah for a clean air room :)

I would give it 5 stars but I left 1 star away since there is always room for improvement. Plus I can not find replacement filters for this unit. I don't understand why but when I type in the replacement filter model number from the manual I cant find anything on the internet nor can I find replacement filters by searching by the model number of the unit. This is frustrating and I may take this unit back if I don't find replacement filters soon before the 30 days is up.

Iv owned this unit for about four months now. I use it in my bedroom and the quality of my sleep has improved tremendously. Very Easy to use and clean. The air quality is noticeably cleaner when walking from the main living area to my room. When i first purchased this item it was very quiet. Starting about one month ago it has started making a rattling noise and gets louder with the fan speeds. It is now to the point where it sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night causing me to turn it off which defeats the purpose of owning it. I am unhappy with how fast this item's quality has declined.

We live in an apartment and I notice there was lots of dust. So we decided to purchase this since we just had our baby. After a few weeks I notice less dust and we would wake up less congested. My baby slept more and so did we. I loved it. Best money spent.

I enjoy the appearance of this item. It seems to do the job. However, it displays an annoying clicking or ticking sound that's apparently due to the ionizer according to the user manual. However, when I turn it off, I can still hear the noise, although it's a bit quieter. I wish this unit was silent like other units. The auto sensor feature seems to work fine.

This is our first air purifier and we've placed it in our bedroom. My wife is pregnant, with allergies, and it seems to be helping. Since we're light sleepers, we keep our unit on the lowest setting 24x7. The one complaint we have is the intermittent buzzing sound (like a very rapid vibrating phone sound) coming from the unit. The manual mentioned this may occur when the unit is over carpet (and it is), so we put a solid surface under it. The buzzing sound persists. If I shake the entire unit for a second or two, the sound may go away... only to possibly return a few minutes later. Sometimes, the sound may go away for an entire day. We've tried it with the ionizer off (same low setting) and the same result. We've only had the unit for less than a week and I'm concerned we may have to return it.

and hang onto your receipt. These things work great....for as long as they work. I purchased this April 28, 2016. The ion generator has broken as of September. The ion generator is one of the main selling points of this item. I say buy the extended warranty as best buy will do nothing to help you if/when it breaks. They will have you ship it to sharp at your expense. This thing pulls dust to it from feet away, and will even detect odors in the room and speed up the fan to help clear the air. It's really a nice product........if they would stop breaking. I had a previous model. Also worked great. The ion generator broke on that in less than 2 years. If you buy this...........Buy the extended warranty. Best buy will not help you at all unless you pay this extra money. 2 stars for repeatedly failing ion generators....as that is a major function of the product.

So far this has worked for our condo. Has helped with congestion. Hopefully it works for a long time!

Only draw back is it does not come with a remote control.
