    Great TV for home theaters

The picture quality is perfect if the video source is perfect. Blu-Rays, HD-DVDs, XBOX 360, and PS3 look phenomenal in 1080p. Cable/satellite broadcasts that are 720p or 1080i look great as well. Standard definition broadcasts don't look nearly as good, because they are not designed to be on a 70" screen. The Vyper Drive feature is a must have for video gaming, because it eliminates screen lag. (must be put into GAME MODE to enable Vyper Drive, and it absolutely does work) All in all, I get compliments on this TV from everyone who sees its picture quality. I love it, and really have no complaints.

LOVE my new Sharp 70 incher !!!!!!!

I've had the 70" Sharp for about a month now and I will say it is the best money I have ever spent. The picture quality with HD cable and BluRay is jaw dropping great !!!! (I cant comment on the standard definition quaity as I dont watch anything in standard def) I did some minor tweeking to the Sharp and the small adjustments I made really made the Sharp even better than it was out of the box. There are a few bad reviews here for this Sharp 70", do yourself a big favor and ignor those few bad reviews, perhaps those reviewers didnt bother to turn the TV on. I have no idea how anyone could give this TV a bad review, its a 70" panel, its under 3K and the picture is amazing. Cheers Davyo

Bought this TV on September 1st after my 73" Mits DLP died on me.Had to have it by start of football. I have had several large screen tvs from 60" to 65" to 73" and now this 70" Sharp. A little shaky at the start but after taking several days to set all the different adjustments I must say I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. The picture quality is amazing to say the least, feels like you are part of the program. Anyone who says the picture is lousy obviously doesn't know how or want to take the time to customize the settings to what appeals to them. No one can predict the future but right now I could not be more happy with the performance of this TV.

I bought this TV to place in my theater. The room is completely dark and no light is visible. Initially I had a panny 65 plasma that looked awesome but the fans were loud and the heat was tremendous. I wasn’t looking for a bigger size with the sharp. I was looking to cool down the closed in 12x17room and obtain a somewhat quieter set. The Sharp meets both those requirements. IT runs way cooler for sure. But the bonus was inside the set itself. User setting had way more options to tweak and dial in to my liking for that room. I did have it professionally calibrated as well. The Wi-Fi is super easy and range is great. I cannot say that I am disappointed so far with this set at all. I do not play games though so I leave that up to the gamer reviews. If you’re watching sat or blu then this set will not disappoint. I agree with do your homework but I think in the end if you are watching this set to enjoy movie experiences and watch some TV then you’re going to love it. I do not use the Internal speakers for sound but its a tv, not a AVR. I wouldnt expect the stock speakers to sound any different than any other TV.

Not all that it's cracked out to be

I purchased this Aquos Quatron because of the great prices and size. The setup was easy. Due to the size, it will take 2 people to set it up. The menu is really easy to use. I actually like the different setup for each individual input. The slower action/moving pictures is awesome. Sometimes the picture is so clear, you think it is 3d without the glasses. The details/blemishes on the faces stands out. The TV has multiple preset picture settings: game, dynamic, standard, movie, etc. For fast action pictures (Sports, dogfights, fighting scenes) the refresh rate needs help. I am not sure with the 240, but the 120 really needs help. I was watching the dogfight scene in the Green Lantern and the jets will disappear in and out of the screen. Same with "Battle L.A.", the helicopters will disappear as it is flying across the screen. I changed out my cables to the Monster 1000 series to no avail. I called Sharp's customer support (they were really friendly) and after 30 minutes or so, the tech told me to use the Game setting. If your in game setting, the picture quality is no where close to the other settings. The setting did eliminate the disapperance of objects but you also lost a lot of the details . I also spent a lot of time trying to get the delay setting for the sound correct as well. I finally ended up returning the TV and purchased a Samsung. Before buying, I recommend you have the salesperson put in an action flick before making your decision. If you are not into action pictures or games, then this is the TV to buy. The picture is great as long as it is slow moving.

We looked at alot of TV's in the 55" to 60", but when we saw the new set from Sharp we couldn't believe the color difference and picture quality. Very pleased with the ease of operation and set-up. Kudo's to Sharp.

1st) when hookin a ps3, you must hit game mode when playin a game like COD,lag. Like ALL tvs..when you switch inputs and come back the tv will remember HDMI 1 (ex.) Was left in gamemode so you never hafta do it again. Each input has dedicated video setting to accommodate different sources. 2) contrast ratio is excellent..remember Samsung has the best Contrast..if you want the best and can live with having your neighbors tv size, get a Sammy! If you want put their face on the pavement get a 70" I install home theaters & car sounds, if the installer is buyin these..why would you listen to buyers who buy 1 tv every 3 years. There are some flaws 1) is I hate ALL sharp remotes..you will too 2)the baseline setting are not set! This is not a plug/play Vizio from walmart Good point that I didn't know: 1) wifi beats out the 55" Samsung in range 2) tv can switch source inputs automatically when device is turned on, like ps3,DirecTV and PC thru HDMI 3)can play .mkv files thru USB!! #3 is hands down a killer. Overall this tv is meant for 1st place people, if you are a nitpick who gets mad at too much ice in your pop from McD's etc. Get a Samsung, if you wanna be #1....Sharp 70" LED is King.

Biggest LED T.V In The World!

I have done ALOOOOT of research on t.v's the past year. I have had many Led T.V's in the last year as well. Currently i have The smaller model of this t.v which is a 60 inch led. I also have seen this t.v in the store and i think i might trade it in and get it. To everyone who does not know this 70 inch led t.v is THE BIGGEST IN THE WORLD as of right now. LG is coming out with a 72inch but not untill later. The picture on this t.v is the best but the t.v is not as thin as all of the other led t.v's. But lets face it the other t.v's are not as big as this one either. It is only alittle thicker not much. Please if you want the biggest get this monster. Make sure you go to the store and check it out, they also have it in sears incase you are not close to a best buy. PLUS the price is literally unbeatable!

I placed the Sharp 70" beside a LG 55" (240 hertz) I own to compare. After using the user settings I had the Sharp looking ever bit as good as the LG and cud not tell any noticeable difference in the refresh rate. I do not play games so I don't know how that fairs on either tv. The reviews that say the picture sucks are dead wrong!!! They do not know how to adjust the pix!!!! No tv out of the box is set as good as it can get. I run the sound thru a Bose system and enjoy great surround!! This set is worth EVERY PENNY!!

Big TV with a Great Picture

This is an otherwise outstanding Big TV, except for that lip sync issue. That lip sync issue is not a deal breaker, but at times it is noticeable. The TV’s controls are excellent, but the remote buttons and layout leave some room for improvement there. The single most important thing is how it looks. It looks good off - and even better on!

The majority of consumers are average people. Every now and then an expert will come along and write a review that will take away possible owners of a great TV, such as this one. The screen has great colors, clarity and some of the deepest blacks ever. I use it for blue rays and some gaming and it blew away my expectations. I have it hooked up to a 5.1 home theater system but with that it has the ability to really give you that same experience you have for the price of an admission ticket at home. For the money this TV is a steal and would definitely recommend purchasing it!

I did not rate the TV's sound as it is in a 5.1 audio setting. The initial set up was straight forward. Plugged in the receiver HDMI cable, linked it to DirectTV, connected wireless to our local router for internet, adjusted hue and contrast at bit and Wow what a picture. It has a very broad viewing angle and detail is not lost wherever you sit.. And, the picture does not look "photo shopped" as on some other large TVs. It is very real. Also it is easy to turn on the whole system via the DirectTV controller. Be sure to use high quality HDMI cables! P.S. For this one it's worth having the Greek squad install it. It is a two person job.

The TV is great..................However................... Don't waste your time or money paying for the additional "Color Calibration" service if offered. Service was "supposed" to take 30-90 minutes to complete. Almost 3 hours later, and the overall picture quality no where near what had been promised - I had to go back and adjust everything to the original factory default settings. The Geek Squad guy said that he'd email me the settings that he'd adjusted the TV to - and never did. Guess it didn't matter considering that I had to adjust everything back to the original factory settings which are great compared to what he did to our TV. That was a $200 dollar "lessons learned" mistake. Stick with the original settings trust me. I do recommend the TV, but not the color calibration.

My family is very satified with this TV. I can't believe how beautiful and life-like the picture are, something to get use to, but loving it!!! It feels like I could submerge to the movie I am watching. I usually buy Samsung but Sharp did an excellent job. I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this to anybody considering in buying a large screened TV. The phenomenal picture quality blows my mind and I give this TV an A+++!!!! Way to go SHARP!!!!!

Took me about a week to get the color calibrated good. Got close by looking at other settings professional calibrators had posted on the internet; there are a ton of settings in "movie" mode. However, the HDMI video signal will not match the audio signal in this mode. I could alleviate the problem by delaying the sound as it passed through my Pioneer VSX-1019 using the receivers settings. This in turn put a significant delay in online gaming when I set the TV in "game" mode. I ended up calibrating the "game" mode for TV and put the pioneer receiver back to normal and just watch everything like that.

We bought this on a Sun and it was delivered the next Tue. The company that delivered it had it setup and working within 10 mins. The only negitive comment is the setup to connect to the internet was not very clear in the instruction manual. A call to the customer service department had us all setup in less than 5 mins. The picture is incredible and I never seen true yellows on a tv before.

Purchased this to replace a 52" Samsung LCD. Overall picture is excellent, but every so often I catch some pixelation. Sound is average, but we never use it as we run it through a Yamaha receiver for surround sound. Price point for this size w/ these features is great (and I had Best Buy match their own sale price 2 weeks later to save $200.). Picture and sound not as good as our 52" Samsung LCD, but for the price point, an excellent product. If you're looking for perfection on all levels, this isn't it, but then again if you are, you're budget is/should be much higher! Product shipping dimensions were incorrect on Best Buy's site, so it would not fit in my SUV (after driving 40 min one way to get it). Had to argue with a 'Manager" to arrange for free delivery (due to their mistake) and when they did, they arrived 1 hour later than the end of the 4 hour window. Typical service at Best Buy.

Picture quality is awesome but in general I have a problem with 120Hz televisions since there is a "ghost" image for fast moving objects like a football. Best Buy tries to sell you a $70 HDMI cable to solve it but that is not the case. Not sure what tvs can do about it. Pros: The picture, sound are awesome. VUDU apps are great. Cons: Internet content is bad, slow and no browser. wish that was there.
