Best for Bright Rooms and Casual Viewing

I bought this TV for a layout with the following basics:
- Room measures about 14'w x 24'd x 8.5'h
- Room is bright but can be darkened
- Hookup includes PC, PS3, 360, and cable TV
- Separate receiver used for sound; no experience with the TV's sound
This TV is a great value if you want to fill up your room with a big, bright picture. It will definitely get your guests talking. That being said, it doesn't stand up well to settings outside of a bright room used for casual viewing. If you are looking for a great TV for nighttime movies or gaming, this is NOT the choice for you.
This TV will be great for you if you:
- Will watch TV during the day and/or with plenty of room light
- Will sit 10 feet or more from the screen
- Want a basic internet suite to complement a PC
- Want a BIG television
This TV will not be great for you if you:
- Want 3D
- Concern yourself with black levels, dejudder, etc.
- Watch most of your content at night
- Spend a lot of time using the TV across multiple platforms
Overall, this is a good television that gives you what you pay for. If you want one of the biggest TVs out there for a (relatively) good price, go for it. But don't be surprised if your experience lessens once the lights go down.
Also - Best Buy has been great about the process of selecting my new TV. Once I decided my second Aquos 70" (the first was defective out of the box) wasn't right for me, we set up the Panasonic VT30. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want when you're spending this kind of cash.

Great 70" LCD screen at an affordable price

After months of research, I decided on this 70" Sharp. I was a little hesitant due to some of the negative reviews. I will not use TV for gaming so issues with motion won't affect me. Basketball looked great, I could see no shadowing. After playing with picture settings for a few days, I have what I believe is a perfect picture. I am happy with my purchase.

good tv for regular tv watching

the 120 htz does not keep up with fast action movies and/or body movements. The picture quality is great in HD and you need to spend some time with the picture settings. I returned this TV after a couple of days. I gave it a chance, but after watching a couple of regular shows and fast action movies I wasn't happy with the regeneration speed of 120htz. I also don't think the 4th color is worth the additional 600 dollars. Cnet said it wasn't worth it and I agree. I am waiting for my 65" plasma 600htz to arrive this coming week. hopefully I made a better choice.

I love the size of this TV (70"), Had just purchased the 52" around Thanksgiving for my Master Bedroom that I was Renovating and set it up downstairs to watch My Saints in High Def It looked so much better then my 65" rear projector model I gave the 65" to a local homeless shelter and decided to get the 70" for downstairs for Christmas (boy my Saints look even better). I highly reccommend this TV. I bought a seperate surround sound system for watching movies since I had already read about the tv's subpar sound, but it really is not that bad, I use it for watching regular tv while I surf the net om my laptop.

Great TV especially for long viewing distance

We had purchased a 65" Samsung for our very long room to replace an old console unit. Our viewing distance is about 17' from the wall. The Samsung was just too small from that far away, plus we were used to a very large unit surrounded by furniture. We are pleased with the picture quality, but definitely not techies so others may disagree. We love it!

We upgraded from an old 32" standard def TV and it is a night and day difference. The picture is incredible! Especially when it is paired with a Blu-Ray player. We paid the extra money to have the Geek Squad come out and tune it and are glad we did.

I originally jumped on this set as a Black Friday deal. The set had to be ordered which was fine. We frequent our local BB and I always end up in the A/V area. We've owned primary plasmas, with one LCD, in the past. I've always been amazed at the plasma pq but tried to convince myself that this LCD would be as good. The more I looked the more I began to hate it. Everything that I didn't like about LED/LCD was still there. Motion blur sucks! I can't handle it! Although I wanted the bigger screen, I just couldn't go through with this mistake. I settled for a smaller screen with an amazing picture, the P65VT30.

Picture quality fantastic - You may have to tweak the settings a bit, but WOW!! - Watching HD or Blue Ray is like you are the person filming the movie. Don't expect to be surfing the net with this so the Apps are a bit limited. HOwever, ff you are want to be interactive with the Net, do a lot of Youtube, etc., I would highly recommend Logitech Google TV to go with it.

I recieved my 70 led last Friday. My son set it up in my theather room, wow what a huge tv. I am please with not only the looks but the picture quailty as well. I got my set for 1900 dollars, the best money I have spent. This tv replaced my two year old Sony 60 led. My son made out and ended up with it. In his own words, he would love to have the 70 Sharp.

This thing is a beast. It dominates the living room. My dog barked at it for the 1st 10 minutes.
It's lacking some fine control like my old Samsung, but I think I'll be OK. Samsung offers 1-10 settings on judder, this one just 3. And judder matters if you don't like every show looking like a soap opera.
At this size, it also shows some of the weakness of certain channels and how they are over compressed by my cable company. Blu-Ray's look great.

Saw this TV at my local Best Buy & was blown away by the picture at the store.
Purchased a set & had the Geek Guys come out & install it.
Could not be more pleased with the awesome picture on the screen and the service the Geek folks did for me as well.
I am a sports guy. Every game, match, etc, you name it is clear with pure vivid colors with no blurriness or skipping
All my buddies want to come over for the Super Bowl now.
You should definitely put this on the top of your list!!

I have found my self watching programs that I do not like only because the picture is so vivid that I am watching the picture more then paying attention to what the program is.
The colors are as vivid as true life and the screen is better then looking out your window.

This t.v. is absolutely huge. For 2599 I think that it is worth the price. I just got it and set it up the same day. I'm going to be using it to mostly watch sports and for that so far it looks great.

I think this monitor looks great! Nothing better than having the biggest TV on the block. I have not used this for gaming but for movie watching and general TV I couldn't ask for more.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR 2399.00 SO I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A STEAL OF A DEAL.....GOT IT HOME MOVED MY 50" PANASONIC AND WAS AMAZED AT THE SIZE DIFFERENCE. HOOKED IT UP AND WHAT THE HELL, PIXELATING AND IT LOOKS LIKE IM WATCHING A CHEAP SPANISH NEWS BROADCAST. RUNNING HD INTO IT VIA HDMI AND I HAVE A $10,000 SURROUND SOUND SO ITS NOT LIKE IM CHEAPING OUT HERE. IM GLAD I STILL HAVE THE RECEPIT BECUASE IM REALLY NOT IMPRESSED, GRANTED THE SIZE FACTOR IS COOL, BUT I NEED A QUALITY PICTURE. I MIGHT BE TAKING THIS BACK TO GET THE 65" PANASONIC INSTEAD. 5 INCHES LOSS IN SIZE BUT THE PICTURE QUALITY IS THERE. CURRENTLY RUNNING 3 50" PANASONIC PLASMA AND THIS 70" SHARP NOW.

I have this tv in a room that has 5- 4'x10' windows and the picture is clear with no glare. Sporting events, movies, news programs, commercials all in bright colors .This Sharp 70'' TV was the perfect size for our tv room.
