There were no metal parts inside microwave compartment but a bag of popcorn to be popped. After start button was pushed for a 2 minute pop time period, unit failed as stated above. Won't purchase another Sharp product from Best Buy, warranty period 1 yr. term. Unit failed me in less then 15 months.

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this to replace a Emerson that ran about 16 years. this one i thought was a good choice, looks like i was wrong, it started clipping out a couple of weeks ago but i thought nothing much of it as it was heating food then would clip out meaning (shut off, all lights and motor off), today 2-15-20 it does it every time i try to heat up coffee and won't run, it resets after clipping, but now won't run to heat up items in it. off to return it to the store.
