The size of this unit was described online as 10.2" x13.2" x 24.9"; this was the most important factor in my decision to purchase Shinco Model YPF1-12C. The package it was contained in also had these dimensions printed on it as well as the package size being 14.7" x 16.8" x 26". However the actual measurements of both the unit and its packaging were much larger: unit measures 15.0" x 16.75" x31.2" and the package measures 16.8" x 22.5" x33.0". Both of these descriptions were misrepresented to me in the purchase and delivery of the product. This unit will not fit into the storage space I have for off season which was the most important consideration for me in selecting an appropriate portable air conditioner.

It does blow cold air and you'll definitely feel it if you are in front of the air flow........but it doesn't make the room cool, and it's a small room 12x11. It cools off the room so that it is just tolerable but it still is not cold. I only had to drain it twice and it's easy to drain. The other things that I don't like is that it makes little ping noises randomly, the same ping noises when you press the buttons to turn it on or press the mode button or swing button. The swing button only swings the vent up and down (you can stop the swing at any angle), not side to side. Also, it randomly changes the temperature reading from F to C which also contributes to the random ping noises. A couple of times it randomly changed the mode setting from Cool to Fan. The other two modes are Dry and Auto. I don't know what the Dry mode is for. Comes with a remote. Easily moves from one room to the next because it is on wheels, although carpet makes it a little harder. The window/vent set up is adequate. there is a little bit of gap between the window and the top part of the vent so I just use two socks to fill in the gap. A couple of times the vent house disconnected from the plastic piece on the window vent so I just used tape around it and it hasn't disconnected since. The other end of the vent hose disconnected a couple of times from the plastic piece that attaches to the unit. I just pulled the vent through the piece again. I originally paid $300 for it but when I picked it up from the store I returned it so I can switch credit cards and then it ended up being only $240. I looked online and it didn't show it was on sale so I don't know what happened. Also, I checked it online recently and it didn't even show this unit listed anymore so I hope this review isn't for nothing. I still might return it if something else comes up, but I really don't want to have to keep testing different units and having to return it.

Very powerful a/c, cools a large area quickly. A little louder than I had hoped but that can be overlooked.
