Fantastic performances across the board. An intense, gritty, hard-edge action thriller that surpasses the genre, while staying faithful to tone of Denis Villeneuve's brilliant beginning to the journey of this Sicario.

It could have been better with the type of theme from the first

I was surprised Beat Buy had a copy of this movie. I can’t wait to watch it with my uncle which is a big fan of the movie. Awesome story telling and action pack.

Very good addition for a sequel. I just thought it was going to be more but I can't wait till the next part...

I normally don’t buy movies, this was worth it for the price.

This movie took a different angle and focused more so on a "dark justice" scenario that was for the public instead of the linear plot of the first one which was simply revenge. While I felt the movie could have explored more it definitely does provide many different settings and sequences which make up for any concerns of lack of content/throughput. This is more of a film for filmmakers perhaps than the average person but taking cues to have still made it relatable. If you have seen Mexican cinema such as Amores Perros or Y Tu Mama Tambien then you are familiar with the rhythm of dialogue and how they develop through a more ominous manner where each sequence compounds the story. Not so much an novella but definitely influenced by it. But is it better than the first one? Yes and No. It is only better because it develops from the first one but without the first movie the story telling just doesn't work. You would literally feel like you're watching one of those god awful 80s action movies where they just throw in some random guy all muscly and skimpy clothing with only one liners for dialogue 1/3rd of the way in and we're all just supposed to be immediately impressed. In truth, this is more like a modern day Rambo but instead of a chastised war vet you have a veteran of the modern day yet unspoken drug wars which transpire in Mexico who enacts his justice through Big Brother's Shadow Enterprises. Try not to see this without seeing the first one.

I liked it, good watch. It had everything the the first one had, except a faster pace and more action. In action, I mean violence, bacause that is what the action was like, just quick scenes of intense violence. But it came at a cost, in the first once the “action” was built up for so long that the intense explosiveness of it was unique and I, like many others, was left wanting more. Enter Day of the Soldado, where they delivered at the expense of the long tense building, so the impact was just not the same. Still good, still suspenseful and and intense. Like with anything you can’t do everything, I thought I wanted more shoot out scenes, but what really made everything so intense in the first one was the slow pacing and build up. Still worth the watch! It delivered what I thought I wanted however, it changed how I felt about the 1st one. It taught me a lesson, for that: 5 stars!

Sicario Day of the Soldado is the second of a series so far of two movies. It goes into the stories of the main concern of many people today, the security of the southern border. The story is well told and could very well have happened. Great story, incredible acting and overall I give it two thumbs up!

Wow the saga continues on the war against the Drug Cartel. Now it's personal for some of the characters, there seems to be a separation of alliance which will definitely spawn a 3rd movie already in the making ... excellent for fans to follow. The chemistry between Benicio Del Toro & James Brolin only magnifies itself. The introduction of a couple of new & young talented actors will only strengthen what's more to come!

Sicario 2 follows from the first installment. There are some areas that you may not be able to understand fully unless you see the first release. This movie best depicts what challenges are faced as a result of a porous southern border. The realism is on-point and the acting is above normal. If your aim is to be on the edge of your seat then this movie is for you.

The film is a worthy sequel. If you enjoyed the first then I would definitely check out this one. Regarding the package, I appreciate having a DVD, bluray, and digital copy.

The best sequels are those that are a new movie, not just a rehash of the earlier one. This movie expands the world of Sicario and shows us other aspects and is as visually impressive as the first. Again just three short vignettes are available as special features; interesting, but they should have added more content.

The first Sicario was a sleeper hit for me. I walked into the theater with minimal knowledge of the film, not having even seen a trailer. My wife and I had decided to go see a movie, but had nothing we were really looking forward to at the time. We looked at what was playing, read a spoiler free bare-bones synopsis of Sicario, and opted to go see it on a whim. The cast was ridiculous so we figured it would be good. I ended up being beyond blown away by it. It is easily one of my favorite films now. With that said, Day of the Saldado is not quite as good as the first Sicario. Denis Villeneuve not returning as the director feels like it is 90% of the reason for this. The pacing is not quite as well handled. Instead of artfully and steadily building into a fantastically violent crescendo, it rises and falls at times. Consequently, the experience is a little less "edge of your seat" than the first. Also, without something to fill the void of the unusual perspective switch from the first, Day of the Saldado feels a little less unique and more like a straight forward dramatic action film. The final conflict/resolution, while somewhat subversive, is not ultimately as satisfying as it was in the first either. With all of that said, it is still and excellent film. While Villeneuve did not return to direct, the original writer of the first film did. Consequently, the story and premises themselves are actually very clever and original. As to be expected, Brolin and Del Toro both turn in tight performances. As does basically the entire cast. Ultimately, while it is not quite as well done as the first, it is still an excellent film. In this adventure/drama, FBI agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) enlists a mysterious operative to help investigate a Mexican drug cartel that has been smuggling terrorists into the U.S. Things escalate when the daughter of a top kingpin is abducted, forcing Graver and his partner to re-evaluate their mission.

Have you seen the first Sicario movie? If not, you're missing out on a really great movie! This sequel is also a really great movie, with no scene directed to disappoint. Go, watch the first movie, then watch this one. I think you'll agree with me on this one!

This film is a solid follow up to the first film. The slow pace of these films builds up the drama and tension within the story. Great acting by the cast. Benicio de Toro is haunting! Well shot and the score is great. Love this series. Fingers crossed for a third.

Sicario Day of The Soldado is great movie but don't make the mistake I did. Watch the first movie before watching this one before watching this one to get a better understanding of the movie. Overall acting and plot are great. Action is amazing. Must see movie.

Excellent movie with a really good cast. Real gritty and very much real. Not for kids. There is a part 2. Watch both

Not sure why I've so so many negative reviews of this online. it's a solid sequel that delves deeper into the two main characters. Character development is not a bad thing! Decent enough plot and plenty of action as this type of movie warrants. There'll probably be a third film.
