Have played a couple matches and am still forming a final opinion but so far the game seems great. Most of my complaints have to deal with a dislike for the change in animation style for world leaders and a game that feels slower than previous Civilizations. That being said it does seem to have more depth and strategy to it. Any civilization fan will enjoy this and consider it money well spent.

I miss the old school instruction manuals, but I often play a new game without it anyway. It took a while to get used to this game, but each game brings new understandings of all the different data layers, and the more I play, the more I appreciate what the UI can do for me. It's like driving a stick-shift: it's tough at first, but the more you practice, the more you start engaging with all the dials and information. And the end result is, it's perhaps the best Civ ever!

As a teacher of business course and this game is great in showing how civilizations, governments and faith transpire through time. In addition the game is turn based style so it has a traditional board game feel like RISK! Great for teachers who want to get their business, government, history, and social studies student so more involved while creating a fun atmosphere.

By no means am I an expert Civ-player. I have several of the games, but don't play them all that often. I do enjoy this one. I believe I've put about sixty hours into it both single player as well as multi with friends. My only complaint is that it can be a bit punishing early in the game when you randomly get barbarians with unit levels significantly higher than your own.

Like most other fans, I eagerly awaited the release of the newest Civilization game. Civ 5 was good, I think 6 is better. I didn't have any of the slowdowns or crashes other people reported on launch so I wasn't soured right away like they were. It is a great game out of the box, unlike 5 that required a few expansions first. If you like Civ, you probably already own it, if you've never tried it, give it a shot!

Civ VI is my new favorite strategy game! Firaxis got rid of the tedious elements like micro-managing builders and created a game that is both complex and gets right to the meat of the Civ experience. The new diplomacy system makes sense of what used to seem random in Civ V. The game looks gorgeous and scales to just about any PC from my new GTX 1070 to my old potato quality HD6670 rig.

I've had a couple older versions of this game and this compares favorably. It's a bit more involved than older models though and required a Steam account which I wasn't too excited about.

I have played the Civ games since number three. Each one has added a little more to the picture, a more in depth and involving part of the game. With the introduction of districts and envoys this game takes another step. More than just a city builder, this game requires you to plan and plan ahead. In one word, ADDICTING!!

Civilization 6 is a decent game. It brings some new mechanics that try to make the game more interesting. The success of that is questionable like the cities now having districts that also limit each city to focusing on only a few traits, mainly because of the lack of space for each city, or the culture tree that now runs as a clone of the science tree. The graphics have been dialed back as well, which is unacceptable. The game looks cartoony now and some of the designs for units are very unrealistic. I've played Civ 5 for over 300 hours and can say I prefer the 5th with a doubt. What Firaxis has shown from the 4 last games they have put out is that they do not fully understand what they're doing anymore. They randomly inject ideas into rushed games and it has shown. They sell well at first because they have a strong legacy but their games have not been up to par with their history. It would seem they spend too much playing their own games and not enough developing them.

I personally love this game. It's the most complete version of civ at launch ever made and I have had a great deal of fun with it. The graphics are great, it runs smooth, and I am enjoying the changes and updates made to how civilization plays out. Newcomer or old fan I think it's a great buy.

Civilization VI introduces new features (discussed elsewhere) that make the game more engaging and interesting. However, as with the previous game, I enjoy this game for a while, then take a break from it, to return to later.

I loved Civ 4, and hated most of Civ5. I've barely scratched the surface of this new installment of Civ, but so far I have loved it. The AI is a little squirrely, but I am sure that will be sorted out when the updates roll out. I'm really looking forward to the expansion packs.
