Silent Hill 2 Remake is a great recreation of the original fix camera but now over the shoulder 3rd person Horror adventure. I really recommend it even if you never played the original. @AlexGamingDeals on YouTube Twitter and TikTok.
Great game, lousy and ignorant shipping protection

One star for Best Buy’s shipping. The game was in a large box, no bubble padding, and arrived shredded and with the disc loose inside the case. I can hear it rattle around whenever I hold the game. Training for warehouse employees has evidently dropped significantly in the past ten years. It didn’t used to be like this. I wanted to play this game but will have to wait.

A game that will stick with you for a long time after playing. Great combat, wonderful sound design and a meaningful story. This is a psychological horror game, not much of a survival horror. I never felt like I had to ration out my supplies since the game provides you so much if you take your time to explore.
My only negative about the game is that there are parts that really drag out. I personally like horror games that are shorter and though I loved the 18 hours I spent in the game, there were areas where I just couldn't wait to get out.
The remake is fantastic, but I also recommend playing the original (just look up Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition online). I hope Bloober remakes 1, 3 and 4 as well!
This is a must buy for any horror fan or anyone who wants an impactful story that will stick with them.

This game is amazing, from the atmosphere to the graphics, immersive sound and top notch story. Great voice acting and the PS5 dualsense haptics really add to the experience. If you loved the original (like I did), you won't regret picking this up.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is a masterful reimagining of a survival horror classic, blending faithful storytelling with stunning modern visuals and enhanced gameplay. The town of Silent Hill feels more immersive than ever, with dynamic fog and meticulously detailed environments that heighten the eerie atmosphere. James Sunderland’s emotional journey is brought to life with incredible voice acting and expressive facial animations, while Akira Yamaoka’s updated soundtrack and unsettling sound design add to the haunting experience. With smoother controls, revamped combat, and satisfying puzzles, the remake stays true to its roots while feeling fresh and modern. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, this is a must-play for horror enthusiasts.

The Silent Hill 2 remake really hits. Atmosphere’s heavy, graphics are wild, and the sound design keeps you on edge the whole time. They smoothed out the combat but kept that survival horror vibe alive. It feels true to the original but fresh enough to stand on its own.

If a survival horror game is great, it's somehow fun and Totally Not Fun all at the same time. If you finish it feeling like you've just gone through a nightmare - some huge ordeal you've somehow overcome - then it's probably a pretty effective one.
The SH2 remake looks and plays just like I remember the PS2 original, which was my favorite game in the genre. I played the first few minutes of the original to refresh myself on it, and it's funny how memory plays tricks on me. Of course, this remake surpasses it in every way. It IS great, and it IS effective, and with my slow, methodical playthrough of around 25 hours, it certainly felt like an ordeal.
This is a must-play for fans of puzzle-filled, genuinely disturbing psychological horror games, and a must-pass for everybody else.

I'm self-assured that Silent Hill 2 has completely captivated me—even though I haven’t finished it yet. This game is everything I’ve been looking for in the genre, and it’s quickly become one of my all-time favorites.
What stands out immediately is the atmosphere. The game is dripping with suspense and eerie tension, keeping you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The psychological elements are incredibly well executed, creating a truly unsettling experience that sticks with you long after you’ve put the controller down. The sense of dread is constantly present, not just through the terrifying monsters and creepy environments, but also through the profound sense of isolation and helplessness that permeates the story.
This is my first Silent Hill game, and I’ve been blown away by how seamlessly it combines psychological horror with survival mechanics. The puzzles are a highlight—challenging, rewarding, and deeply integrated into the overall experience. They add a layer of depth that keeps the gameplay from feeling like a standard horror shooter. Every puzzle solved feels like an accomplishment, and they contribute to the sense of immersion and mystery that Silent Hill is famous for.
Visually, the game is stunning. The PS5 Pro handles the graphics beautifully, with crisp, detailed environments that draw you into the nightmarish world of Silent Hill. From the foggy streets to the claustrophobic interiors, every setting is meticulously designed to add to the horror. The audio design is equally impressive, with an eerie soundtrack and spine-chilling sound effects that keep the tension high throughout the game.
The story itself is intriguing and keeps me invested, despite not knowing how it all ends yet. The way it blends personal tragedy with supernatural horror makes for a unique and gripping narrative. I’m genuinely hoping that Konami and Bloober Team follow up with a sequel because, based on what I’ve experienced so far, this could become one of the greatest horror franchises in modern gaming.
I consider myself a very picky gamer, and it’s rare for me to be this enthusiastic about a title before I’ve even finished it, but Silent Hill 2 has earned my 10/10 rating. If you're a fan of survival horror, this is an absolute must-buy. The terrifying atmosphere, challenging puzzles, and psychological depth make it an experience you won’t want to miss. Well done, Konami and Bloober Team—this is a true masterpiece.

I played Silent Hill 2 briefly on PlayStation 2 when it was new. This is one of the best remastered games I've seen. It retains the story and spirit of the original version, combined with the technical advances of graphics, sound, and gameplay of current generation console, PlayStation 5.

I was so nervous about this remake being done by bloober team. I'm so happy to say that they have done the impossible and made this better than the original in every way. The music, sound effects, smooth gameplay, great voice acting and beautiful graphics. This is the best psychological horror game ever!

This is one of the best remakes I've ever experienced. It stays true to the original story, but expands on it. Very dark and moody atmosphere and themes tackling tough topics, absolutely beautiful music from original series sound designer Akira Yamaoka, improved combat and level design. It's much longer than the original Silent Hill 2, but all the additions are very appropriate to the story. This game is made with a lot of love.

Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 is a haunting, beautifully reimagined classic. The visuals, sound design, and story all hit with power, and the changes/modern improvements make it feel fresh without losing what made the original so special. However, the PS5 Pro version has some graphical issues (flickering reflections, lighting/shadow instability), and in darker areas the visibility can sometimes frustrate. Despite that, it’s an excellent buy for horror fans, especially those who appreciate atmosphere over action.

After never playing the original, but always being a fan of the genre, I was very interested in this game.
Pros:
-Graphics are top notch
-Story is very interesting and memorable
-It's genuinely a scary game!(play with headphones on!)
-Multiple endings
Cons:
-Not much replayability(despite Multiple endings)
-Some of the puzzles feel obtuse and by the end feel tiring to complete.
-On normal difficulty, felt almost too easy. By the end there was more than enough ammo and healing items stockpiled.
Overall I highly recommend this game to anyone who's a fan of survival horror. Although not really worth full price.

The *Silent Hill 2* Remake is a hauntingly faithful reimagining of the 2001 classic, delivering a masterclass in atmospheric horror. Bloober Team nails the oppressive, fog-drenched vibe of Silent Hill, with stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals that amplify the eerie, decayed aesthetic. The updated combat and puzzles feel smooth yet retain the original’s clunky charm, while James Sunderland’s emotional journey—bolstered by stellar voice acting and a refined script—hits even harder. Minor pacing issues and some stiff animations don’t detract from the suffocating dread and psychological depth that make this remake a worthy successor. Fans and newcomers alike will find it unforgettable.
