This a well executed modern adaptation of Silent Hill 2. Not simply ported to modern hardware, but well executed graphics while keeping the look, feel, and visual style of the original. The original will always be the original, but this is worthy modern retelling to be enjoyed on modern hardware.

Silent Hill 2 is a classic in the survival horror genre, and the remake breathes a new life into the 2001 PS2 classic, remixing many of its iconic moments without losing what made the game a fixture in many horror fans collections. Combat, while a bit clunky, has just the right mix of new and old without making things too reliant on action. Ammo is scarce and takes a long time to stockpile, and sometimes fleeing is a better option than risking wasted ammo or drained health restoratives. Puzzles, depending on the difficulty chosen, can take some effort to solve, requiring some outside of the box thinking, or be easily spelled out, allowing for players to enjoy the challenge of the brainteasers at their own pace. The same applies to combat, with three levels of challenge that will test old and new horror fans. The remake has all six endings from the original releases of SH2, along with two new endings exclusive to the remake, allowing for a ton of replayability through James' journey through the foggy town

This game is just what i expected from silent hill franchise

Bloober team blew me and many others away with a faithful and fantastic remake of Silent Hill 2, at around 18 hours it was some of the most fun i’ve ever had playing a survival horror game right up there with the original silent hill games, resident evil and dead space

While missing some things from the original, like certain melee gear, the remake both retains the atmosphere of the original and enhances the experience. The dev did a great job making Silent Hill feel like the town it felt like two decades ago, but bugger, better, and scarier.

This game is fantastic. It certainly brings all of the emotions from the original Silent Hill 2. The graphics are incredible and combat is simple yet super adrenaline-based. I most definitely recommend it!

Silent Hill 2 Remake is everything you could ask for in a horror game. For me personally, it's been some time since I can recall where I fully enjoyed my time with a good horror game!

Faithful remake with a lot of tasteful modernizations. Not a perfect game, and perhaps leans a little too hard on the combat in some areas, but overall just really fun.
