I got this movie as my girls, ages 7 & 10, greatly desired to see animals singing...we have a weekly family movie night just the 3 of us. We all laughed as we watched the songs sung. The girls were enamoured with the characters dynamic personalities. However it was the underlying storyline message I thought great. About overcoming fear & hurdles that life throws at us and still doing what you love against all naysayers. But mostly fighting against inner fears. Overall girls and I loved the movie.

As a musician, I'm a sucker for musicals and great renditions of songs. I have 3 and 5 year old daughters and when I first heard the elephant sing "Don't you worry bout a thing" I was hooked and immediately did a bunch of research. I saw it at Best Buy and couldn't help but get it. Thus version came with the blue ray which I used in my ps4, DVD which I put in my daughter's DVD player, and a digital copy which I added to my Amazon account. So we are never stuck without "Sing!"

Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life's ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.

I purchased this bluray at the request of my granddaughters, who assured me that it was one of the, if not the, greatest movies ever made. Having seen it, I think I'd still opt for "Citizen Kane" or "The Godfather," but it was much more enjoyable than I could ever have predicted. If you are a fan of "The Voice" or "American Idol," you know the basic plot: a singing competition, but this one is between animals. The caricatures and characters are clever in spoofing the wannabes and celebrities who populate these programs. Some of the jokes are meant for adults, which is a good thing, if you are an adult watching with a 5 and 7 year old. My favorite part of the production is the songs. Some of them are really clever in a "Looney Tunes" kind of clever, which is high praise indeed.

You know how they always claim that American animated movies are made for kids, but there's something there for adults too? Well, this goes well beyond that and is truly made for everyone. Whether you're starting out looking forward, and near the end looking back, there really is something here for you. The only real gripe is that the last performance is the weakest of the main five.

Sing is a favorite in our house, not just for the kids. Great cast, and some surprises from cast members that I had no idea could sing. Very relevant and witty in our current day of reality-tv-singing contest shows, and an overall positive message about perseverence. Maybe some suggestive jokes for kids 4 and under to watch out for, but nothing cringe-worthy. Always like having bluray plus digital plus dvd; 1 for home, 1 for the car, and 1 for our phones.

    Entertaining Movie with Familiar Songs

"Sing" ends up being more entertaining than I originally anticipated. I had more fun with this movie compared to "Secret Life of Pets." I'll admit that I find current pop-culture songs pretty entertaining, despite them not necessarily being my preferred music. The many cover/renditions that show up in this movie added to the entertainment factor. If you can't stand songs from Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, or any other recent pop icon, you may want to steer clear from this movie. Otherswise, definitely check this one out! Also, the 3D for this movie seemed pretty good. Plenty of depth to the image througout with a few instances of pop-out effects. If you're a fan of the 3D format, it's a worthy 3D addition to the collection.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie. It is pretty fun with all the songs. My son really enjoys movies with a lot of singing so it was a big hit with him. As always having the digital copy pretty much a requirement for me to purchase a movie now. It's just so convenient with all the connected devices. Or if you go to a friend's house having access to your movie library without using my Plex server is quite nice.

Great movie. My kids love it. They want to watch it all the time. The movie it's self is funny, the casting part especially. I like the way they show how everyone from different backgrounds has problems and passion and how they work together as group and pursue their whtat they love most and make it fun for everyone. The kids love the music they sing alone the whole thing. Keeps them happy and sitting which is great for me. LOL.

Loved the music, loved the story, loved the singing! Particularly up and coming talent Tori Kelly, and some unknown actress named Scarlett Johansson ...I predict big things for both of them. ;-) 1080p image quality was stunningly upconverted onto my 4K Samsung display, with the 3D adding enhanced depth throughout, and particularly exciting during a scene where a building collapses. Multi-channel audio was quite active, with sounds of a live concert & audience made believable. An active LFE rumbled the house during a pivotal scene. Audio and video was balanced and encompassing so as to provide additional level of reality, drawing the viewer into the story. Great family production all around!

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of music in this film. The story about the contest and why there was no prize money was weak, but the standouts were Johnny, Rosita, and Meena. Johnny's tale was very touching. His singing was very good, but I loved the male bonding between him and his dad. Rosita was very resourceful in getting her kids fed and out to school, so she could pursue her dream. I'm glad her husband saw her talent. This movie was also a great introduction to Tori Kelly, who played Meena. I watched that finale song three times that first night. She was such a great surprise. She had great vocal range. I hope to see her in something else soon.

I am a sucker for this type of movie - Coyote Ugly, Pitch Perfect, and (ancient history) Mr. Holland's Opus to name a few. Show me a character overcoming obstacles to achieve a musical dream and I'm there. Use amazing animation and LOL humor and I'll watch it again and again. SING! fills the bill. I just wished more of the characters/actors had been included in the special features, particularly Scarlett Johansson.

The movie was very fun. All the songs in it meshed very well and the story flowed pretty good. All in all since we hadn't seen it in theatres first we loved out and felt it was a great buy. My only complaint is since I love steelbooks and collect them i hate that best buy keeps pairing them with the 4k bluray as we don't have a way to utilize it and its needlessly more expensive. Otherwise great product.

We really enjoyed this movie! I particularly liked how the characters had their own backstory, and came together to put on great show. Although it is an animated movie targeted at kids, the overall message can resonate with adults. We would have been able to watch it early, had it not been for FandangoNOW's horrible platform and even worse customer service. Take note Best Buy, you guys should avoid them.
