    Best Open World Zombie Game!

I have been waiting for a Zombie game like this for a while now. Finally a zombie game that has amazing gameplay, graphics and a story that made me care about it. The story has a serious tone to it that reflects the environment and characters accurately. This is from the same developer that did the Dead Island games, which while I considered those games fun, they always felt like just "okay" games to me. Here it is clear they took all of the feedback and any problems with Dead Island and used that knowledge to fix and create an absolutely amazing game with Dying Light. The game borrows a lot of mechanics from other games, but really makes them fit the game nicely. At night it goes from being more of an action game to a survival game as the night zombies are much tougher and aggressive. The game is fun playing solo but I would definitely recommend playing this one with friends if given the choice. Note: There was a couple bugs I ran into in my first days playing, but the developers were quick to fix them and have already patched them. Well done Techland!

A step up from Dead Island.

Despite there being an actual sequel to Dead Island coming out later this year, Dying Light already steps in to give us a better experience. It has much of the same ideas as before, but it's all generally been streamlined and fine tuned to make for a much better experience. Not too mention it has quality multiplayer in it beyond just co-op as the zombie hunting mode is incredibly fun. It even has a reasonable story and set of characters this time. The parkour element is what makes the game truly fun as now I can't play another FPS without trying to hop fences, cars, and to clamber onto rooftops. It still has a few flaws in certain areas, but not much that really hindered my experience. Took me about 35 hours to complete, which is the campaign and most all of the side-missions, but I still had tons of little collectibles and some challenges to finish up, so probably easily 40 hours if you are a completionist.

Pros: An enjoyable parkour system that gets more enjoyable the more you play. Killing zombies feel punchy and is supremely animated. Open-world venturing is best played with a co-op partner, up to 4 players. Side missions are different in nature and not repetitive. Guns are very balanced, and strategic. Most times its better to use melee due to loud noise attracting more aggressive zombies. Day and night cycle makes venturing varied and never tedious. The thrill of roaming at night never gets old. Grapplehooking is the best thing this game needs. Cons: Story characters are dull and predictable. But the parkour and combat system make the story progression digestible yet forgettable. Story was not what this game advertized, it was the parkour and melee, of which they delivered on with precision and quality.

Thank you Best Buy for providing amazing deals on a release day game. I have been playing it for a bit now, and while the performance issues are well known, I am still thoroughly enjoying the game. I have fun at night outdoors, amazing fun. Campaign missions are worthwhile and I do like the story. I have also tried a bit of multiplayer, and it was fun, though I look forward to more modes being released. Overall, a great survival adventure game.

The gameplay takes some getting used to, but that's alright, because it's such a refreshing new feel to the cliche apocalypse genre that has been popular these days. The theme "good night, good luck" may not mean much from just reading the box, but in game it sends a chill down your spine while you sit in the dark at the exact moment your in game watch tells you its nighttime. 21:00. They're coming. Your flashlights on, but that only makes you obvious, so you turn it off. Now it's dark. The screams are getting closer. You run. They run faster. You climb. They're already at the top. You shoot, it stops them in their tracks, but it was louder than you thought. Too late. More are coming. Will you survive? Find out by seeing for yourself. Techland really put the effort they've wanted to into this game. Some may think its arcady, and it kind of is (an axe with a strapped on torch and weight for bigger impact?) but the loooooooong story that comes with it makes it a truly immersive game. Get it.

This game is a blast to play. The graphics are superb, the story is significantly more intriguing than I ever thought it would be, and the fighting and parkour are a blast.

I have yet to find something I don't like about this game. I have played it for at least a hundred hours. The story is pretty good, however somewhat predictable, but the gameplay never lets you down. Techland has done an excellent job in putting fear back into the zombie genre. Night time is terrifying, even when you get to higher levels it never stops being challenging.

This game has all of the great elements from some of the greats: Lockpicking from Fallout 3 Unique weapon building from Dead Rising Parkour from Mirror's Edge Zombies fill in favorite here Look back feature from GTA but slo-mo like the Matrix I am enjoying it and the app allows you to go on runs to make money and find stuff. Open world sandbox. I fell through the world a few times that's why i gave it 4out of 5.

I got this expecting it to be like Dead Island...... It is and it isn't. Decapitating zombies, Weapon modification, awesome open world, like Dead Island, then, Lock picking like Skyrim!? Climb buildings and street post, pipes and all kind of things like Assassins Creed!? Awesome. Very well designed world and beautiful graphics. I've already got 50+ hours into it and it never gets old.

Dying Light is a great co-op game and a refinement of the ideas introduced in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, Techlands previous zombie-slaying simulators. The combat is weighty and satisfying, and the controls are much improved. This is a relief, as the controls in the previous games were loose and imprecise.

Graphics are wonderful, and game play is great makes your heart skip a beat if you play in the dark lol. Only issue im having with it, is that the over all size of the game seems small, but i have been told it expands. So dont know yet. But so far its like Assassins Creed meets Dead Island.

The graphics are amazing on the game and it ran smoothly at 1080P on all high settings with my laptop which has a GTX 770M in it. I love the open environment and game play (I use the Xbox 360 controller for Windows). The atmosphere and story are awesome! It's just plain fun!

I'm a big fan of zombie games and this is def one of the better ones out there. The open world and parkour dynamics make this a unique experience in the genre. I haven't enjoyed a zombie game this much since left 4 dead.

Great game play. I loved Dead Island and this kicks it up a couple of notches. Crafting is good without overwhelming. And the night missions...wow. After I finished my first one, I was a nervous wreck. Well done all the way around.

I love zombie games, zombie movies and zombie tv shows. I was hoping this would be like The walking dead but it's more dead island with a touch of left for dead. The story is typical but the whole thing at night where stronger zombies come out makes getting tasks done during the day more intense. Graphics are top notch if your system can handle it. Still hoping for a game with these graphics and the free world gameplay but the depth of the walking dead. That will be a sure hit!
