This game isn’t Skate or Tony Hawk. But, this game is what skateboarding games should feel like. Instead of tricks that all look the same and building million point combos, for the first time you have full control of your feet and your board. Left stick controls your front foot, right stick controls the back foot. No trick looks the same and the entire experience is very rewarding. Sure, it’ll take some time to get the hang of it, but this is as authentic to the actual look and feel of skateboarding as I’ve ever seen. It’s only been two days, but the overall feel of this game has me hooked. It’s alright that you might not master this game in a day, that’s what the developers intended. And for $40 the cost isn’t as steep. Pick up and download a copy and give it a try, you won’t regret it!

This is a lot better than I thought it would be. I'm more of a Tony Hawk game fan but I got used to the controls in Skater XL very quickly. There are some glitches in the game but this game is from a small indie company and I'm sure they will fix the minor glitches in future updates. Overall gameplay is smooth and very fun. The skater customization is awesome and. Also the soundtrack is really good! I'm so glad new skateboarding games are finally being made again.

This is not your arcade style Tony hawk skateboard game. Skater XL is more complex in that the controls function the same as you would move your legs/feet to do a trick on a real skateboard. Large map. Lots of various obstacles to skate. It will take time to get used to the controls as they are not similar to Tony hawk or the skate series. Challenging but fun.

This game is very fun, I’ve skateboarded for 15 +years and have played all the skate games from tony hawk pro skater one all the way to skate three . This games control layout is one of the most interactive I’ve ever experienced it’s truly engaging and totally fun !

Great game for son to play and good scenes and backgrounds also.

My son wanted to play Skater XL ever since he saw a review online. There wasn't one in Nintendo Switch so we ended up getting the Xbox One version. He enjoys it very much, but dad did not realize the solo version was all there is to the game. So this game is not actually as exciting to someone that played Tony Hawk before. But it's fun for beginners!

This game does a good job of simulating skateboarding, but it’s a janky at times and could use some polish, but at least the price is not sixty dollars

According to my grandson, the game wasn't exactly what he thought it should be. He felt as though there wasn't enough realistic action and that the graphics could be a tad better.

Bought for my son because he loves the Skate game series from EA. But this game falls short everywhere. Game glitches often, not many options for styling your character, no good game storyline like Skate, and it is very difficult to get used to if you’re used to playing games like Skate or Tony Hawk. Glad I only paid $20 for it.

If you liked the skate series this isn't that bad. It took the controls of skate and built on them. The game is fun for about an hour or so then it just gets boring. Would be better if there were mission type deals to do or something along the lines of that. All in all its a good simulator.

Better than skate. Almost felt like giving up early on but it’s so satisfying once you get the controls down. Hope they add more content in the future.

Yes it’s a Skate Simulator for real skaters. If you want to mash buttons then get THPS. This is the real deal Skate game for Skaters. Takes awhile to get the hang of it but it’s worth it. Amazing!!

If you are a skater or just love the true art and difficulty then this game is a must. Different play than Tony Hawk only thing missing is 2 player mode with online play.

A new feel to a more realistic skating experience! But the actual game to me lacks structure… not as fun as the skate series games for Xbox, but a step in the right direction!
