I bought this “toaster” because my old one died after a tragic Pop-Tart incident . The reviews were great, and it seemed sturdy, so I thought, “Why not upgrade?” Well, let me tell you, this is NOT a toaster—at least not a conventional one.
First off, it’s HUGE. I had to clear an entire counter just to fit it in my kitchen. It came in this big, bulky box, and when I unpacked it, I noticed there was no slot for bread. I figured, “Maybe it’s one of those fancy new designs?” Nope. No bread slot, no bagel button, and definitely no crumb tray. What kind of futuristic toaster is this?!
Then there’s the power cord situation. It’s long enough to stretch across my kitchen, but plugging it in was an adventure. When I hit the “start” lever (which was hard to find), the thing ROARED TO LIFE and started shaking like it had a personal vendetta against gluten. My bread went flying across the room.
Determined to make it work, I laid my toast flat on the spinning blade thing inside (great design for even toasting, by the way), but the bread just shredded into a million pieces. At this point, I was crying, both from frustration and from the sheer force of wind blasting crumbs into my face.
I did find one silver lining: This toaster is AMAZING at clearing crumbs off the floor. After it obliterated my bread, I pushed it around the kitchen and—voila!—clean floor. So now, I use it to “toast” my yard instead.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it for breakfast, but if you need a powerful crumb vacuum or a lawn toaster, this baby is top-notch. Five stars for versatility.
P.S. Still mad it doesn’t have a bagel button.
