I tested several other noise canceling headphones and I feel these are at minimum, on par or superior, to other more expensive brands. I prefer these over my Beats Studio 3 noise canceling headphones (you can skip tracks and toggle the ANC on/off directly from the headphones). I do wish the would collapse in more so that the travel case was smaller.

Great mid price headphones

The sound on this is comparable to the older sony headphones. The fit is a little bulky on the sides and its not very snug on top of my head. This is better suited for watching movies and podcasts. I don't recommend using it for working out due to the fit on MY head. Could be different for you. But the sound quality is excellent.

I have heard these headphones are '' as good as the Bose" Noise reducing cans, and not even close to the price. Well I can't speak to the comparison to Bose on sound, I can speak to the comparison on price. Not even close. BB sometimes puts the Venues on promo and it makes it even better. I can say that I have a great, affordable set of Skullcandy Venues, and I am happy.

My recent purchase

The earpads are comfortable and I do not have to keep lifting them off of my ears. They replaced another brand that was totally worthless after less than 3 months. One issue is that I am never sure if the headphones are turned off. It seems to take a while before the light goes out.

It lacks a certain loudness... for the lack of proper technical terms. SkullCandy has always been a hit or miss, they're either very bass heavy or not even loud enough.
