So lately, I've been trying to record videos with my friends and family. So I decided to get this one. It was a tough decision debating whether I should get the smartphone one or the gopro one. I decided to get the smartphone. The stabilization is pretty good, you might need to play around with it to get use to some of the controls. I love the joystick on it just because when I'm walking around and I want to focus on a certain thing, I can use that to control what I want to record. The weight of the stick is pretty decent, got a good handle grip on it, it wouldn't slip out of your hands. I also love the packaging, it comes with a nice hard case and it comes with the charger, and two sets of batteries. The thing I don't like about this stick is that sometimes when you just start it on, the gimbal starts to act a bit crazy, maybe it's how heavy my phone is. Another thing I wish this gimbal could do is to switch from smartphone to camera to gopro because it would be pretty awesome. I don't want to spend another arm and a leg for another gimbal for the gopro. Other than that, I am really satisfied in my purchase so far. No problems so far. Setting it up and using it is no problem so far.

Got this gimbal as a Christmas present and it's been a tremendous addition to my arsenal. Really easy to set up and I was recording in minutes after opening the box. Takes a little practice to really learn how to best use it but its time well invested. Quality product.

Compared to competition this thing beats it on all marks. The build quality is excellent and you can't beat two pairs of rechargeable batteries! Plus the carrying case that comes with it is very sturdy and has inserts inside to keep the gimbal nice and secure. After a few initial test runs I can say for sure this was a great purchase. Hoping to expand my armatur photography experience into something that will really impress.

Got this for a photo enthusiast friend for the holidays and he loved it makes every video on his iphone super smooth and he said it was very easy to use and would recommend to anyone.

I am blown away at the gimbals ability to the stabilize my iPhone 6 Plus footage. Not only that but the joy stick acts as an awesome to to get smooth pans and all around camera movement. I will def keep my eye on these guys in the future, I would love a gimbal for my Canon DSLR. Great Product and awesome build quality

I've used a lot of similar products, but none comes close to this. This is by FAR the best. Some people think that it is too heavy! I don't think it is at all. It is durable and shows the great quality. Instructions are clear and upgrading the firmware fixes every issue. Definitely worth the money. I would highly recommend it for anyone who loves clear footage.

This is a great stabilizing gimbal for your phone. It leaves the video SUPER clear and takes all of the shakes out. The customer service is quick to respond and helped with all of my questions that I had. The manual answers almost all of your questions and the device is super easy to use. WORTH THE MONEY FOR SURE!!!

I bought this stabilizing gimbal immediately after using my friend's gimbal - so amazing, easy to use and FUN! Takes away all "shakiness" creating a clear and enjoyable video to watch. Gimbal will drive for you and create smooth video or if you want more control you can use the joystick to manually control the pitch, pan, and scroll axises (hence the 3-axis gimbal name!) I can't wait to take this gimbal skiing once we get some snow! Also going to bring it to my annual family reunion to create a video to share with all family members, seriously this gimbal is so useful and a steal at this price. Can't say enough positive things!

I'm new to smartphone gimbals, and I wanted something easy to use and working out-of-the-box. This isn't the device. It comes in a very nice case; complete with batteries, an extra set of batteries, a USB charger, the gimbal itself in two pieces (screws together easily, meaning it stores compactly), and a counterweight for larger phones. Installing your phone on the device is simple enough - the spring loaded clamps keep most any size phone secure to the device, including my iPhone 7plus. But on first power on, the device sort of freaked out, turning by itself, eventually ending up upside down. Also, the range of motion is severely limited when angling your arm to the left - you get to a hard stop far sooner than you realize. I read the instructions for the firmware update, which were very clear, but did not work. I reached out to support, who responded quickly, and told me how to perform the update. It seems they would have updated the electronic version of the manual with this new information; having to reach out to support was just a time waster. So once I got the firmware to apply, I installed the phone, and the gimbal powered on as expected. It freaked out moments after powering it on, but I could not get it to freak out again; however, the up-down motion of the joystick was now non-functional. So I reached out to support again to ask the question; again, it was answered quickly, but their answer was not satisfying - "keep performing the firmware update until it works again" which means disassemble it, update the firmware, assemble it, test it, disassemble it, update the firmware, etc., etc. until it works. Sorry, I don't have the time to work out the bugs in your devices. Returned.

Used this gimbal on a trip to Orlando. It stopped working on one of our last days there. I emailed the company when I got home and they had a new gimbal to me within 5 days. The gimbal works well and makes your videos look professional.

Gimbal worked well out of the box. Downloaded and installed firmware and it killed the unit. Had to return it and get a new one. Image tracking is cool.

I set up unit as instructed. Phone flopped around, spun around and kept banging into the handle. I checked the Sky Lab web site for a phone number for support, and did not find one nor did I find any trouble shooting help. Email only support. I sent an email to them regarding the problem. They responded…36 hours later with a single suggestion: try updating the firmware. 1. Firmware should have nothing to do with the problem since I am using a phone thats been out for two years. 2. Why not list more than one problem solving suggestion? If the firmware update did not work, do I wait another 36 hours for the next suggestion? I returned the gimbal.

My videos look like they were shot by a pro. The difference in quality is amazing. Highly recommended .

First Christmas with the grandkids... issues with gimbal...disappointed. Expecting the usual response of "send it back" and leave you hanging. Not This Christmas... before the ink was dry on the email they had a replacement on the way...wow... this is how I remember customer service! Quality product and great customer service ...very refreshing!

Love the product as I needed to prevent from losing the cap but the connector broken. Needs to be thicker.

Had for about 2 days. Lost calibration and would not reset and recalibrate. Further the mount covers the microphone of the phone, so you can't get any audio. Tried plugging in earbuds with a mic, but again, that was obstructed. So you can get video that's off horizontal and that has no sound.......

The Skylab phone gimbal works as advertised. Fast reaction to movements and also supports motorized panning. Customer service was fantastic. When I had an issue, they shipped out a new unit, no questions asked!
