Saw this for the first time with my uncle who lived in Johnstown where the movie was filmed. Neat seeing the old sports arena and coliseum in it. Paul Newman said this was the movie he had cursed the most in of all his films. Takes you back before mascots and hype for minor league hockey games. Not for kids due to the swearing but a must watch for a true hockey fan! The Hanson brothers make this movie in my estimation.

Anyone with a remote interest in hockey knows the movie Slap Shot (or are at least familiar with the notorious Hanson twins). The movie still holds up after all these years and the audio/video transfer in the blu ray are both top notch. Very highly recommended all the way around.

I have watched this movie 3 or 4 times now I really enjoy it. If you enjoy hockey this movie is super. It was really exciting this past season because I was actually able to meet the Hanson brothers and I have my DVD autographed

The original Hanson brothers are hilarious. "Putting on the tape coach..." Paul Newman and Michael Ontkean are fantastic in this film. Slap Shot is for hockey as what Caddyshack is for golf. Great laughs.

As I grow older my collection depletes of films past 1989. This 70s classic is a reason why. I enjoy films from the time when directors didn't have a politically correct audience to answer too. This HD transfer looks amazing and IMO this is one of Newmans best

A great hockey movie. I say this not because of the great action, but because of the humor. Anybody who has seen this movie ends up a fan of the Hanson brothers. Paul Newman is great in this. If you are looking for a funny sports movie, buy it.

I bought this because I had a coupon for $5 off and it was only $5.99. I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid and loved it. While dated, with clothing, cars, etc. it's still a funny movie that did not disappoint.

A classic and must see of sports fans. Worth the purchase to find old titles like this and be glad you can still get some of the good titles to add to your collection. Paul Newman, fighting, hockey.... all good things

Watched it when it came out with several NHL players who roared throughout. Gets to the heart of the sport’s visceral appeal.
