I thought the movie was amazing. It is definitely worthy of the best picture award. It has a nice story that you can follow and is great for all ages. It gives India much needed exposure to the Western world.

this is a good movie in term of different direction from the other movie. It's great for new audiences, meaning american. For Asian or most european, the plot is not so interesting, since we had seen so many movie with the similar plot. Like I said it is good movie for people who had less exposed to the culture.

My sister and I watched the movie together and we were both in tears by the end of the film and what a surprising ending! Fantastic and yet so sad.

Love the movie, from beginning to end.. the only thing that bothered me was that sometime the disc takes too long to load up in ps3.. may b its just in ps3 not the players. other than that. it worth owing the movie..

This is a great "rags to riches" story of a slumdweller in love that tries to connect with his true love by being televised on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" and wins her and lots of money...!

i completely understand why this movie recieved best picture, however the game show tie in was very weak, a very simple idea of a movie that was overdone, if it wasnt for the kids, probably would have failed

Loved that the movie was shot in the slums and used people from the slums. I didnt like the subtittles in the begining...they were super small and I couldnt read a thing. Overall it was ok...I don't believe it deserved best picture but thats just my opinion!!

Story: Based on a novel and it was different - good. Music: A.R. Rahman is my favorite too and has done far better in other movies than this one. Flaw that makes the movie unrealistic: Characters speaking english and especially kids from slum talking english with style is funny and does not go well with the movie. The movie has been hyped all proportions - there are far better movies in India that have not got the recognition they deserve because they were all directed by Indian directors. Good to watch one-time though.
