We had to have a plumber come in and go buy a shut-off valve, on our water line to our water softener in order to install the new line for the ice maker.

You don't need anybody to do anything for setting up. You can do it by yourself, turn on the water supply and enjoy cold water and ice from your refrigerator. Durable product and economical as well.
