There should be instructions to tighten the fitting and compress the o-ring seal. Like hand tighten then turn 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Does not take much. After I had installed the fridge it was removed to install new flooring. The guy putting in new flooring went to reinstall and rung off the brass male threads on the valve in the wall. He did an excellent job of putting in a anew valve.
