Takes FOREVER to heat up

I am renting my current home. My property manager replaced my traditional coil-style burners with these safe burners. Wow... Water takes soo long to boil. Electric stoves already take much longer to heat up compared to gas-- these make take even longer. Do not buy! Dramatically increases cooking time.

Sleek lil upgrade for our short.term rental condo. Hoping it will keep the surfaces looking clearer and cleaner than coils. Fit like a glove. Fyi, you will need to use the old coil cup (drip pans) so if yours look bad like mine did, you need to either clean the top edge which shows or have replacements.

It is too safe. And because of that, the heating element takes a while to heat up, and then retains the heat for long while too, after you turn it off.
I do not recommend, unless you don’t mind waiting an hour for water to boil. The large element will bring the water nearly to a boil, and then shut off to not go over the 650* f or whatever is listed, which then makes the water cool again and is literally near boiling point, so you have to wait for it to start heating again to get the water to a rolling boil. I’ve waited about 45 minutes as I write this review for my water to boil. I even used hot water from my sink which gets very hot, to try and jump start it. No luck. Do not recommend.

Helps reduce cooking fires

I am a Best Buy employee and one of the merchants who brought the Smart Burner replacement burners into the senior assortment.
We brought this product in because we hear concerns regarding loved ones leaving the stove on and the potential fire hazard this can create. This product does not allow the heat to go beyond 662 degrees Fahrenheit, which is lower than the auto ignite temperature of most cooking oils, reducing the risk of cooking fires. We chose this product because of ease of install and compatibility with most electric stoves.

My apartment complex has these. I waited 35 minutes for less than 2 quarts of water to boil and had nothing more than a few bubbles. Absolute garbage product.
