Another solid VR co-op experience on PSVR!

In a way, it is reminiscient of the brick collecting concepts of the LEGO games with a coat of Minecraft-y paint. Each level presents a similiar challenge structure, get around a particular part of the castle in a set amount of time (in the stages Ive played, its all been under 7 minutes), break as much stuff as you can which reveals coins to pick up and pay off your deceased Grandmother's debt. You are rated with 1, 2 or 3 crowns depending on how much loot you grab, those crowns going towards further levels and areas to explore and ransack. Co-op is where it is at, allowing a second player to join in the smash and loot madness on the social (TV) screen. The TV player can assist in throwing and looting, though I found that running ahead in the level and smashing as much as you can while the VR mage character "hoovers" up all the gold with their wand was the most efficient. It also seemed far easier to get higher ranks (crowns) on levels in co-op mode. The co-op view isnt ideal, with basically ps1/ps2 level visuals that are a bit muddy partnered with a view that obscures some of the primo lootables in each room. But it doesnt really hamper the fun of being able to tag team the destruction. Co-op games on PSVR should be more prevelant. If you have someone else in the household that really wants to join in the fun when you are playing VR, this game is a great way to involve them and take turns in VR while still going after the same objectives.

Smash!
