As a beginner in the world of drones, I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Snaptain E20, a compact and beginner-friendly drone that promises an enjoyable flying experience. Despite its small size, the Snaptain E20 packs a punch with its impressive features and ease of use, making it an excellent choice for new drone enthusiasts. In this review, I'll delve into its key features, performance, and overall value for beginners.
Design and Build Quality:
The Snaptain E20's design is sleek and modern, boasting a lightweight and compact frame that is perfect for beginners to handle. Its propeller guards provide an added layer of protection, which is especially useful for inexperienced flyers like myself. The drone's build quality is impressive, with sturdy materials ensuring its durability, even in the face of minor collisions.
User-Friendly Features:
One of the standout features of the Snaptain E20 is its user-friendly interface. The intuitive remote control allows beginners to effortlessly maneuver and control the drone. The controls are responsive and well-designed, making it easy to perform basic flight maneuvers. Additionally, the drone offers headless mode, which simplifies orientation and allows pilots to focus on capturing stunning aerial footage and images.
Stability and Performance:
The Snaptain E20 showcases excellent stability during flight, thanks to its powerful motors and efficient flight control system. Even in moderate wind conditions, the drone maintains a steady and smooth flight. Its altitude hold feature is particularly impressive, ensuring a consistent hover at a desired height.
Camera and FPV Functionality:
Equipped with a HD camera, the Snaptain E20 captures decent aerial photos and videos for beginners. It may not match the image quality of higher-end drones, but it is more than sufficient for recreational purposes and learning the ropes. Moreover, the FPV (First Person View) functionality allows pilots to view real-time footage on their smartphone, adding an immersive element to the flying experience.
Flight Time and Battery Life:
The Snaptain E20 offers a respectable flight time of around 10 minutes, thanks to its included two rechargeable batteries. While the flight time might not be significantly long, the extra battery provides an opportunity for extended flying sessions without having to wait for a recharge.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the Snaptain E20 is an excellent little drone designed with beginners in mind. Its user-friendly features, stable flight performance, and decent camera capabilities make it an ideal entry-level drone. With its durable build quality and intuitive controls, the Snaptain E20 provides an enjoyable flying experience while allowing beginners to develop their piloting skills. If you're a beginner looking to explore the world of drones, the Snaptain E20 is a fantastic choice that offers great value for your money.

This is a great starter drone. My son took a class in high school to fly drones and got a certificate. This does not need that as it's not a GPS, or heavy drone. It is lightweight and does not go too far before being out of range. The camera seems to be a decent quality and clear images.
I have used smaller drones that are fun but they can drift and constantly have to calibrate. This seemed pretty well and not drift away (unless some wind). Was easy to fly around, has a couple buttons that you can press to have it do flips or fly around on its own (make sure to have plenty of open space).
It has 3 speeds, which at the fastest speed was still easy to manage if not easier because I felt it reacted a little faster at the higher speed.
I also like that even if you don't have a SD card to put in, if you pair it with the phone app, it will still record and save onto your phone. It is better to do a SD card, but at least that is an option. You can also fly this without the use of a phone as well. But if you are wanting to use it to do pictures or videos then using it with the phone is best as it will show you what the camera sees.
There are a few things though as to why I am giving a 4 star. First, even though it supposed to be calibrated, it would have been nice to have directions to calibrate if needed. The USB-C cable is short but also only 1 provided. It would have been nice to have a cord that splits so that you could charge the remote and a battery at the same time, or even 2 or 3 cords. maybe one cord just for the remote and another that splits for the batteries. There are times when it would seem to overdo things. For instance, I could be consistently pressing the left joystick left for it to turn and it would turn just fine but then all of a sudden keep turning for a little bit more. Same with landing, I can land it fine and slowly, but then another time, it would just go all the way down fast. Luckily so far, it has not fallen too fast or too hard to break. Lastly, it does not have any gyro sensors or stabilizations for the camera. So, it can be a bit shaky and because the drone tilts to go forwards or backwards, the camera will look down more at the ground or up in the sky when you move.
But these are kind of expected, or at least what I figured, from being a lower end model drone and this was far better than what I thought it would be for the price range.
I would have maybe liked to have seen the guards for the blades to maybe protect both the top and bottom. It only protects the bottom part.
This also is not the quietest but not super loud either.
Overall, though, if you are looking at wanting a cheap drone that can do a lot and great for beginning, this is a great choice.

I have mixed emotions about the Snaptain E20 Ultralight. Maybe I had too high expectations. When I step back and think about what the Snaptain E20 is, I realize that it isn't too bad of a drone. First of all, lets look at what's in the box. The drone is an ultralight, weighing in at about 185g. This is a quad copter with four folding arms and fits inside a compact carrying case. Inside the package is the drone, remote, two batteries, attachments to protect the blades, extra blades and instructions. It also comes with a USB charging cable, but like everything else these days, no charging block. The remote is rechargeable, has a mounting location that can fit most any phone. I am using my S23 ultra and it fits fine and stable in the mount. Once you connect your phone to the drone via Bluetooth, you can actually use the Snaptain app to control about anything on the drone you want. I haven't tried to fly the drone with the phone, but I am pretty sure the app has that ability?? The camera is good, can be zoomed and panned and takes both still and video recordings. Quality is good and if you insert an SD card, the quality goes to 2.7QHD. The remote has about a 150 meter range which is plenty for my old eyes, as it is hard to see the drone past that distance. There is a one key takeoff and landing button and a button to push to maintain altitude. You can get more than 15 minutes of runtime from each of the included batteries. The batteries and the remote both charge via the USB C cable. Overall, its a good starter drone for those of us without any real experience or skill in flying drones and is fun to use when you get it stabilized at altitude. The only thing you really need is a smotth takeoff and landing location and a calm day.

I am no expert on drones. I have flown my friends a few times without any mishaps, and enjoyed it. But never enough to want my own. Until now! This E20 comes in a very nice carry case and seems to be pretty loaded for a beginner drones. Built in camera and controller. The lightest rechargeable batteries I have ever held but they seem to do well in providing power to this device. They state a 18 minute run time, but I actually got about 12, which was fine. Possible as they are used and charged the time will get longer. Setting up the control and the phone was fairly simple, and the kit comes with a usb charging cable and some blade protectors. I tried flight 1st in a large warehouse which was actually quite fun. The drone does have limited distance and the metal of the warehouse seemed to affect the control distance. The camera is decent and it can be zoomed and tilted. There is space for an SD card for saved recordings. I also tried this outdoor in a large field and it was not as steady due to the wind, but it was acceptable. I had a lot of fun with this drone, and will spend more time perfecting its operation. For the price, it is an excellent buy and while it is not a prefessional model by any means, it great for fun and maybe that field recording for family and friends. I admit the controls are confusing at the moment, but i'll eventually get use to it. It does have a nice cheat sheet over the controls.

The E20 drone is a solid choice for beginners and hobbyists alike. Its compact design makes it easy to transport, while the HD camera provides decent image quality for casual photography. Flight stability is good, even in light wind, thanks to its GPS and altitude hold features. Battery life is decent, offering around 15-20 minutes of flight time, Overall, the E20 offers great value for the price, with smooth controls and simple operation, making it a fun and reliable drone for everyday use.

For a first time Drone owner I do think this was the perfect little drone for me. It comes in a small box with a carrying case and two batteries. Batteries charge via USB-C (yay) and everything has a place.
The Quick start/manual makes it easy to get the drone setup after you charge the batteries for their first use. Just add your own Memory card (not needed but will limit the resolution of pictures to what it feeds to your phone).
Using the drone is straight forward too. Had some standard controls that I'm used to playing games with the kids, so I wasn't too lost. Getting it going was easy, just stand back because dang do those blades whirl. But then got it going. I will admit I am not the best pilot but will get there. Highly recommend you get the hang of this thing in an open field because there is a learning curve and you might have a crash or two, but this drone was built tough enough to handle it.
The Camera and Video it takes is good from something so small, so I was happy with that, when I get better flying this will make have a look at how my roof is doing after winter to be much easier. Plus I can buzz the doggies (not really, but be scared I might hurt them). But overall this is a good drone for a beginner. My first and I'm loving it and so happy it came with its own carrying case.

- Poor construction
- Video locked at 25fps
TLDR
The E20 is little more than a toy quad-copter with a camera strapped on. For $125 this wouldn't be a bad novelty toy, but it's a horrible choice for someone who wants to see what aerial photography can really do.
DETAILS
I've been flying RC aircraft for over ten years, and I've used video drones for the last five. While a lot of people think cheap drones like this Snaptain E20 are great for beginners, they're a bad choice for a lot of people.
On the surface, the E20 looks to be good value. It comes with a carry case, an extra battery, and spare prop blades. In a DJI drone, that's the basis of the "Fly More Bundle" and usually costs a few hundred extra. The E20 can also be piloted without the controller, using only a phone or tablet.
Once you start to fly it, you see the E20 offers little more than cheap construction and poor performance. The camera may capture images at 5MP resolution, but the quality is quite poor. Images are blurry and pixelated and look worse than you could capture on a cell phone from 10 years ago. A good 720p sensor would serve much better than a poor 5MP one. Video is even worse. The camera is directly mounted to the aircraft body instead of on a stabilized gimbal. The E20 doesn't have any software digital image stabilization either. So the camera captures every wiggle of the drone. The blades are also constantly in the camera frame and you get artifact lines across the video, too. Video framerate is also a fixed 25fps instead of the more common 24fps and 30fps used in the US. The mobile app stretches the camera feed to fit your phone display ( at least the Android version, I didn't try iOS ). If your phone's display is not 16:9, things will appear skewed. The video zoom feature also only affects the feed to your phone. The video recorded to the SD card will not zoom.
Drone construction is also lackluster. It uses brushed motors, which are cheaper than brushless motors, but are also noisier, less efficient, less powerful, and have shorter lifespan. This shows in the E20's flight performance. It flies well enough for the first few minutes of a fully charged battery, but then gets sluggish and unresponsive around 50% battery. Below 50%, it takes full power just to maintain altitude, and will often plummet to the ground in a barely controlled descent. That can be very unsafe to yourself or others. The batteries are rated for a maximum 18 minute flight time, but usable flight time is closer to 10 minutes max.
The drone lacks GPS or any kind of external camera or sensor, which means it doesn't have any sort of positioning assistance, collision detection, or return to home. Flight stability is poor as a result and it will wobble and drift while simply hovering. Combined with the weak motors, even a weak breeze is enough to blow the E20 around. The kit comes with rotor guards to protect the props against collision, but these add weight and change the balance, making the flight characteristics even worse.
The controller is made to look like the ones in older Mavic drones, using similar fold out handles and antennas. However, these antennas are fake and added only for looks. The drone connects using regular Wi-Fi between it, your phone/tablet, and the handheld controller itself. The manual lists a maximum range of 150m, with an 80m flight ceiling, but anything past 150 feet gets questionable. As it uses the normal Wi-Fi bands, interference from regular home wireless networks is a big problem. Flying it around my yard was quite frustrating as it was often unresponsive to the controls and kept crashing for no apparent reason. Flying at a neighborhood park proved much better.
I understand video drones can be expensive to get into. Usually you're looking around $600 minimum for the entry-level stuff. So a $200 drone with case and extra batteries is quite attractive. But the cheap drones usually aren't beginner-friendly. They don't hold their position well, meaning you have to fight wind and minor air currents. They lack basic collision detection and obstacle avoidance, so you're more likely to crash into a tree or have very rough landings. Without GPS or some kind of positioning function, you have no way to find the drone if it gets lost or blown away by a sudden wind gust. For someone just learning to fly drones, these can be big hurdles to overcome. And if the thing can't capture decent quality video, you might be left wondering what the point of it all is.
If you want to dip your toes into drone photography, you'd be better served looking around the $300-$400 mark for used or refurb drones. A refurb Autel, DJI Spark, DJI Mini, or similar drone can be had for under $400 which will help you fly better and take much better video. Even if you get another drone down the road, that used Mini you originally bought will stay useful for a long time.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the E20 and I must say, it felt great. This drone is packed with impressive features and capabilities that make it a top choice for both beginners and experienced drone enthusiasts.
The first thing that struck me was its ease of use. The drone's user-friendly interface and intuitive controls made it a breeze to fly, even for someone with minimal drone experience. The included remote controller was comfortable to hold, and I was able to navigate the drone fairly easily.
Battery life was also impressive, providing ample flight time on a single charge,
Overall, the E20 is a fantastic drone that offers an outstanding combination of user-friendliness, performance, and features. Whether you're a photography enthusiast looking to capture aerial shots or simply want to enjoy the thrill of flying a drone, this model is a solid choice. It provides excellent value for its price point and delivers impressive results.

I was really excited to try out the Snaptain E20 foldable drone as it has some pretty cool features, sadly it did not perform as expected.
The drone comes with a nice quality carrying case, a remote control, two batteries, a USB cable, some spare blades and blade protectors. The blade protectors aren't like the typical blade protectors that go over the entire blade, these protectors act more like bumpers on each of the arms and they extend out pretty far. I was tempted to leave them off, but my gut was telling me to listen to the instructions and leave them on…I’m glad I did.
In order to be able to fly the drone, you need to download the Snaptain FPV app. The app actually looks nice and is easy to navigate, there is also a video on how to set up the drone and fly it for the first time. The app is how you get a FPV of your drone when flying.
After charging up the batteries, and the controller, I was able to take my first test flight. This was right about the time I realized why they made the blade protectors stick out so far. As far as precision control, there is none. To land the drone, you point the left joystick down, the same control used to lower and raise the drone in mid-flight, so there were many times my drone would land when I just wanted it to lower it a little bit. The drone moves with the slightest gust of wind making it hard to control and when I tried to hover it, it would constantly sway to the left. Then there’s the connection issues I was having with the drone and my iPhone, making the drone fall straight down immediately, so I wasn’t able to fly it very high. I was excited to use the 3D flip button, only to be disappointed because the button didn’t work at all. After about 14 minutes of the drone smacking into the fence, the battery died. The footage that I was able to capture, was kind of grainy, and not that steady.
Overall, I was not impressed at all with the Snaptain E20 drone. For an entry level drone, it barely succeeds at that. The controls are mediocre at best, there is no stabilization, so it flies all over the place. There were many times that the drone would lose connection to my phone in mid-flight and fall flat to the ground. The 2 batteries that come in the box have to be charged one at time, and only last about 15min and with no charging dock. So, if you’re out in a field, you better have a battery bank and plenty of spare time. With all that said, sadly I would not recommend the Snaptain E20 drone to anyone.

About the function of 3D flip, after flying the drone to a height of at least 6.6ft(2m), press the 3D flip button to activate the 360° flip function. Once activated, use the Right Control Stick to perform flips. Push the stick forward, backward, leftward, or rightward to execute a 360° flip in the corresponding direction.
The drone has two landing methods: one-key landing or slowly pull the Left Control Stick backward to land the drone until the propellers stop rotating. If the operator is not proficient, it may seem difficult to control the drone.
The drone may shake in the air because it is designed as a beginner's drone with weak wind resistance, making it less stable in windy conditions. Therefore, we recommend flying the drone in mild weather and in an obstacle-free environment. Additionally, please note that our drone has a control accuracy and optical flow sensor with an error margin of 0.5 meters.

Very fun little drone. Once you get the hang of the controls it’s very easy and is a great introduction to drones. As a warning - it is extremely light and sensitive to wind which can make it difficult to control from time to time. As long as you’re aware of that - you’ll have a great time with this. The drone was safely packaged and it's the Perfect size. It takes amazing clear pictures and the range is great. I don't need to worry about losing connection and chasing to catch it while the drone is up taking the pictures needed or simply using it to fly around. The battery charges quite fast and last a great amount of time before needing to recharge it. I would purchase this Drone again If i needed another one or to give a a gift. It's a fun device that comes with everything you need. If you're thinking about it. Think no more is that great!

A friend purchased this for me as a gift for completing school recently. I have played around with smaller, cheaper drones, so this is a step up from those.
It was easy to get set up and easy to start using it. I have been to the local park a few times and felt pretty safe using it on the large area of grass there.
I really like how intuitive it is to use. Also, the photo and video quality is really great.
I'm still very new to using drones, but I'm looking forward to getting even more capable of flying this drone around.
