Kid had to have it. "it was better than regular cans". Usefor a week everyday trying to get formula right. Either too sweet or not sweet enough and never enough carbonation. Now its just clutter. Overall i think it cost more also.

Got this as a gift and didn't really know what to expect. I drink a lot of soda, about a can or two a day, so I thought it might be useful. I was definitely right! Making soda is quick and easy. When you first get the machine, you have to pop the Co2 can into the machine and you are good to go. Just fill the carbonating bottle with water, screw it in, and press the carbonate button a few times and you're almost there. Just pour some syrup in and you instantly have great soda. Flavors: I was also extremely surprised with how many flavors you can buy. Some of them aren't great, but it depends on your personal preference. They are also pretty cheap. The build of the machine, I think, is a bit lacking. I expected it to be more sturdy, possibly made of metal or something,but it is plastic. It works fine and I don't have a problem with it but it just feels a bit cheap. The carbonating bottles are also pretty nice .. if you are on the go they are perfect for you.

I really like this thing - It's simple to use and very, VERY cost effective. Keep in mind that it won't make something that tastes like a name-brand soda. To do that requires a boatload of chemicals that the Sodastream lacks. Before you get swayed by other reviews, look at the sample pack and compare the nutrition info on the back to ANY other soda. 16g of carbs for a half-liter of non-diet soda? That's right. In the end, it may taste different (IMHO, it's just as good, if not better than any store brand) but between the savings and the lack of preservatives and such, it's a heck of a good deal.

Easy to use, the family can all use and it provides great variety at less cost.

I have my friends come over every week for a game night. We drink a lot of soda, so I bought this to save money. Now, not only do we save money, but we can make exactly what we want for drinks. No more fighting over which cases to buy, hauling them home, and bringing the empty cans back.

We bought this to use on our boat to prevent too many cans and bottles onboard. It's ok and does as advertised. However, it takes more CO2 to make the drinks comparable to the real thing, but the CO2 cylinder on gave us 30 liters and not the 60 advertised. The diet cola is ok, but it doesn't REALLY taste like Coke, Pepsi, or even the store brands. The Dr. Pepper is good and a couple others, but if you want to replace the name brands, you won't. STILL, it does prevent the waste of cans and could save us some space on long trips. When you do the math, it's again, not the huge savings they say it will be. With $15 to refill the CO2, $15 for 3 syrup canisters, that amount netted us exactly 30 liters, or 15 2-liter bottles. We buy the store brand at $0.79-$0.99 per. So for us, it's TWICE as much for Sodastream. (I didn't do the math for cans) Is it worth it? Maybe, but not for the big saving over giant soda companies. It will, however, save us some space. What is THAT worth to us? I'm not sure yet. We'll see in a year.

This is the "entry" model sodastream and its great to find out if you are going to like the product or not. The sample packs are nice as you are learning and experimenting with flavors and carbonation levels. I enjoy my machine,im still finding and tasting new flavors. The machine works fine but the more I enjoy it the more it makes me want a "fancier" model.

I keep this at my office and now I don't have to buy a soda every day. At $1.35/day in the machine, this pays for itself in less than 2 months!

I recieved this as a christmas present and it is the best thing i could have gotten! The flavors are great and thanks to the lack of all of the sweetners traditionally used in soda, i have lost nearly 30 lbs! this machine is easy to use and takes up very little space! love my soda stream!

Bought this for girlfriend who is obsessed with fizzy drinks. We have cut our carbonated beverage purchases by 80% and can last 1-2 months with a single bottle of carbonater.

At first I was not pressing the carbonation button down fully. The first 3 bottles of soda we made were flat. The next day While making a bottle of soda i held the carbonation button down for 3 long times until i heard the buzz sound. i released the bottle and added the flavour pack and to my surprise it actually worked great after that. Perfect soda. I only hope the carbonation cartridges and flavour packs will be available for quite a long time.

This is an awesome product! My kids (5 and 8) love to make they're own drinks. It's easy and fun to use. There are no batteries or cords so you can place it anywhere. Soda Stream has a HUGE variety of syrups to choose from. We are LOVING it!!

The other ones have various problems and are generally too complicated. This one is very simple. There is a tank, a valve, and a button. You press the button and the CO2 is squirted into the bottle. End of story. The rear compartment is also over-sized which allows you to use larger and even third party tanks.

When this first came out I was a bit skeptical. I'm very picky about the sodas I like. I picked this one due to lack of counter space. It doesn't take up much room and since 1 bottle of the mix is about 50 servings, its much easier to carry instead of lugging round 24pk cans, 1,2 or 3 liters and such. If your still not sure about this...come on over and I fix ya one! Even my sister is a convert....and that ain't no easy task.

You can make as much soda as you want. No more leaving half drank cans/bottles of soda that you paid for from the store. And if your careful you can re-carbonate the old soda in those cans/bottles as well. You just need enough to fill up the bottles. Great price for what you save in not wasting soda. This model is a little cheaply made, but a great starter for the money.

i personally like the jet. even tho its the cheapest, its great. easy to use and great taste

My family loves our SodaStream. Simple to set up and use. I like that the flavors are similar to Coke flavors. They're not exact copies of any brand but in my opinion they're closer to Coke than any other. I also like the Natural flavors (Coke, Root Beer & Ginger Ale). They remind me of what soda tasted like when I was a kid AND the Coke/Root Beer are excellent over ice cream. The only flavor that could use some work is the "Sprite" mix, not the greatest. Orange, Dr. Pete, Coke Free are all excellent. I really like that I can customize my own flavors....Coke with Grenadine or Lime is excellent. I figure it costs around .75 cents per liter and in my book a quarter saved in this economy is good. Well worth the high initial investment and will provide many happy returns. ENJOY OVER ICE CREAM, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED
