We have had a SodaStream for a couple of years and bought this one as a Christmas gift. The recipients are just as thrilled with theirs as we are with ours. Love being able to have whatever flavor of soda we want, and being able to adjust the carbonation level to what we enjoy! Like the flavor of the soda but it's just a bit too strong? Customize the flavor by using less syrup. I can't say enough good things about this product.

This is definitely the way to go if you like soda but don't want to keep buying cans of it. So far the flavors we have tried are equal to the canned stuff but without all the sugar. Each glass (8oz) only has 35 calories! We probably won't buy any more canned soda. This machine is so easy to use. Since it does not need to be plugged into electricity to use it you could take it with you if you traveled or even went to a party. I don't know why we waited so long to get one.

If you like alot of fizz, this is perfect. I'm a big club soda fan and this meets my needs. The fizz are small so they burn going down but it makes you burp pretty quick. It's a different fizz compared to the name brand club soda. The syrup I probably would not recommend. I bought the cola and the lemon lime. It tasted like cough syrup,artificial, diet-ish. Only issue if you follow the instructions during carbinating it sprays water. Shorter burst seems work the best and watching the water as it starts to bubble up to the top tells you when to let go, give it a sec for it to come down and push again.

First I must say that the whole family loves this unit. It's great for making your own soda right at home. The huge adjustment we had to get used to was the reduced sugar in the soda. the soda syrup has only 8g's of sugar per 8oz...vs...a regular can of coke or pepsi has has 24g to 28g for 8oz (36g to 39g per 12oz can). That is a BIG taste difference to adjust to when and if you are used to drinking the canned soda. Other than that the L's they state you can get out of the CO2 bottle on the box is misrepresented - grossly mislabeled and/or not explained well in the instructions. It states you will get 60L out of the CO2 bottle. Ok, yes one might if they only fizz it to the first light (low fizz). We did a variation from the second light to the third (which is high fizz like a can of soda) and only got about 25-28L's and now need a new one. And finally, we do think it's a great buy if you would like to cut back on the amount of sugar one consumes if drinking cans of soda. And it's kinda nice not having to lug those 12pks into the house anymore.

Easy, tastes better, creates less garbage and it's a little cheaper. All good news.

I was skeptical about this product at first, but now I'm so glad I purchased it it. My wife and I used to buy 10+ bottles of seltzer water at the store, but now we can skip the water aisle entirely! That's great for the environment and our wallets! If you drink seltzer water a lot (like we did), you'll easily recoup the cost of the unit in about a month-or-so; also, the cost of changing the CO2 bottle (and getting new water flavors) after about 80 bottles is very affordable (as opposed to getting 10+ seltzer bottles from the grocery store each week). Definitely recommend this item.

We drink a lot of sparkling water in my house, so this machine saves many trips to the store and saves many bottles from the landfill. Unfortunately, it is difficult to get to the cost effective part, since the CO2 canister is only good for about 50 liters of carbonation (25 20-liter bottles). At approximately $1/each, I'm actually spending more to do it myself than I would spend to get them from the store. Best Buy and other stores now allow people to swap an empty canister for a full one for about $15. That could become cost effective, but not without purchasing multiple canisters. That way we are never out of carbonation. It is definitely a cool piece of equipment, though.

Great product, easy to use. i have not brought a bottle of sparkling since i brought my soda stream. don't need the flavor sryup that comes with it as a sample they taste horrible. add some fruits or juice to flavor. only problem is finding a place to refill CO2 canister.

I'm not a soda drinker but do like carbonation so sodastream is perfect. I have the Source and like the LED indicating the level of carbonation. No more buying bottles of sparkling water or worrying about running out. As an alternative to the flavors I like to get creative and do my own. Mix the carbonated water with 1/3 or 1/2 juice to keep the sugar and calories down. Also blend up fresh fruit and add your sodastream water.

I was skeptical but love sparking water and wanted to stop filling the environment with plastic bottles. Easy to use. Nice looking. Seltzer holds fizz over time.

We've owned ours for about two months so far, and we love it. We wanted to stop buying bottled unflavored sparkling mineral water, and I did the math and determined it was going to be cost-effective to get the machine and make our own soda water. The machine is dead simple to use, and the ability to select the level of carbonation is a thoughtful idea. I was a bit surprised it doesn't even need any electrical power for the carbonation to work. However, there is a 3 element LED that shows you the level of carbonation you're getting, and that's powered by a "non-user replaceable" battery. This is probably the only con about this machine. According to the user's manual, you have to return the machine back to the company to replace the battery. But the good news is that there are videos available on YouTube that show you how to replace the battery by DIY means. It's a bit of a hassle, but you should be able to do it if you know how to use a screwdriver. Also, if you're going to get one of these machines, make sure to budget for about an additional $20 to get a two pack set of one liter bottles. One liter is not a whole lot of liquid (it's about the size of a 32oz. Big Gulp), and two people can easily go through one bottle per sitting. Three bottles (one comes with this machine) is probably a minimum, and probably four is ideal for a household with two adults who like to drink soda water to hydrate.

I have been drinking sparkling water for years. I love bubbly water and avoid sodas, both sugary and artificially sweetened. Earlier this year, I moved back to NYC, where I consider not having to own a car to be just ONE of the many great things about living here - except when it comes to shopping for large or heavy items. Bottles of sparkling water are not only a heavy load, there is a bottle deposit, so one must return the bottle or basically be throwing away money if one recycles them. So, here is the perfect answer for me. In addition, after the initial investment for the unit, the cost to keep going with refilled carbonators is as low as $.50 a liter, which is the best "sale" price I have seen anywhere. I also invested in a pack of two more bottles, so I always have well chilled bubble water in my fridge.

We've owned the original expensive penguin shaped SodaStream model for many years and purchased this new lower-priced one as a gift. The plastic bottle on the new SodaStream Source can be rather difficult to snap in place in the unit for carbonation. It took some practice before we got it to work correctly. We mostly use this machine to make our own low-sugar low-sodium fizzy drinks and not to try to duplicate the taste of bottled soda. If you plan to buy this to make Coke or Pepsi style drinks at home, you''ll probably be disappointed. The lemon-lime and Country Time Lemonade syrups are very good, the Dr Pepper clone syrup is OK, but the others we've tried didn't taste like name-brand bottled drinks. However, I've had success making good alcoholic mixed drinks with this machine using concentrated lemon. lime, cherry and pomegranate juices.

Smart product for anyone who likes sparkling waters or soda drinks. Provides flexibility and saves all the plastic bottle waste. Modern, streamlined design. Does not take up much space. Also, got great price at Best Buy. Highly recommend!
