    Lovely product, but painful!

The shape of the plastic housing (not the bud part, the hard plastic earpiece that the bud attaches to) is so awkward that it pushes against the cartilage of my ear and gives me great pain when worn for longer than 30 minutes. All other earbud type earphones have been fine with me, these ones are just shaped so awkwardly. I recommend trying them on in store if you can. I can't help but feel a more minimalist design would have worked better. Despite this (pretty major) issue, the sound quality is excellent and Bluetooth connectivity is standard. Battery life is also impressive- lasts all day for me. Been to the gym in them to find that they're okay for running, will shift left or right whilst running - and are useless when doing bench work or sit-ups! I would say "don't buy these!" because they're painful- but it seems no one else has the problem I have had. Despite the fact I can't wear them for longer than 30 minutes, a decent product. Does what it says.

best ever bluetooth earbuds, fantastic base sound!

These new ear buds are exactly what I was looking for. The ear buds are nearly the same as the ones on the Apple in-ear buds. (white silicone) and they fit the same. Base is great with these because of the silicone buds. Noise cancelling! so they are perfect for working out at the gym, For the jogger, you might go with a different one as these will fall out with all the joggling that comes with running and noise canceling isn't for the serious street runner. the neck band would make running or jogging difficult as well. the band fits loosely around the neck. The wire that comes from the neck band to the ear buds is substantial and will last well, I think. I love these ear buds!! Highly recommend for those audiophiles who have to have good rich base and all around great sound. Did I say I love them?? I do. They also have a skip feature that is nice to have.

I wanted something wireless but also not impeding while I worked out at the gym. I also didn't want anything bulky. I did some research before making the decision to purchase these. While they don't sound as good as Bose or Beats they sound much better than expected. Connected easily to my iPhone 5, no issues so far with losing connection. They are lightweight so you barely feel them!

?? Where did these headphones come from?! Amazing!

Ok, so I am historically a huge fan of Beats headphones. I seldom purchase any headphones that aren't Beats headphones. My favorite are in ear headphones, and I have had my Beats Tours for about 3 years now and they sound just as good as they did on day # 1. I bought a pair of inexpensive bluetooth headphones to work out with a year ago, but they weren't always my favorite as the sound quality was pretty poor (it was a great $30.00 Groupon deal). In any event, I wanted a nice pair of bluetooth headphones so I immediately looked at the Powerbeats 2 wireless by Beats. I had the original Powerbeats and I was NOT a fan of them at all. I like in ear headphones that create a good "connection" with my ear canal. The Powerbeats did not do this, so I didn't have high hopes for the Powerbeats 2. I checked the reviews on Best Buy and while they were good overall, they highlighted the two things I really look for that they didn't have - a solid connection in ear and loud volume (I definitely blast my music). That said, I looked everywhere for solid headphones that would meet my needs and came across these Sol Republic Shadow Wireless headphones. On a whim, I clicked on them and read the reviews. They were outstanding. Hmm... Also, they were half the price of the Powerbeats 2. Ok, so I went online and read reviews. Everyone loved them - the only thing that was a minor complaint was that they couldn't go a very far distance when using them or the connection may distort. Considering I use them right next to my phone all the time, that wouldn't be an issue for me. I bought them yesterday, so I am 24 hours in here. All I can say is - What in the BLEEP is with these headphones?! They are INCREDIBLE! They sound amazing, very loud, clear mids, clear highs, deep and rich bass. They weigh nothing, you have no idea you have them in your ears, the neckband is completely lightweight, but weighted enough on the ends to be balanced. When I say these are loud they are LOUD. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and while the headphones are at full volume, I am only at about 75% volume on the phone because any louder and I'd be deaf =oP. I used them to watch an entire film, two television shows, four hours of music, and about an hour of phone calls before I got the "low battery" warning. That's about 8.5 hours of use before they needed a recharge. Very impressed. At the end of the day, this is a fantastic purchase! I WISH they came with a carrying case of some sort, but I ended up reusing the little bag that came with my old bluetooth headphones. The neckband is flexible, bendable, foldable rubber material and it folds up to be quite small so it worked out really well. I highly recommend these as a great alternative to Beats. Huge, huge fan. #solrepublic #believer

    Good Earphones

Purchased these cause my dog kept trying to eat my wired earphones. They paired with my Galaxy Tab 3 & iPod Touch easily. Only issue was with my tablet, but it could be because the tablet is old and running slow. Music and video starts to skip during start but then goes to normal after a few seconds. No other issues on these and sound is very good.

Sound is excellent, not a fan of neck band.

I have a LG neck band bluetooth now, and the sound is OK. I tried the jabra pulse, but didn't like the audio quality nor the voice that interrupted my music to tell me my pulse. Didn't realize how poor the audio was until I picked these up. These are wonderful, the bass is awesome. these are really nice for walking or sitting at the computer. I actually like the neck band of the LG better, because it wraps around the neck better and stays put. The shadow does not do that, so if I lay down (I use headphones to sleep at times) they fall of the back of the neck. The "wires" the earbuds are attached to are a bit long for my liking as well. I'll keep these for the sound quality, but may get a set of LG again for exercising and sleeping. These I'll use at the computer or for walking.

had them for over 6 months and lost them while working in a office I was very pleased with the full rich sound of the shadows i now have LG tone HBS 900 and the LG sound weak compared to the Shadow connected to 2 cell phones no problem, range was great and did not have them cut out if too close to the cell phones as I have with the LG's Battery life was as advertised, not as good as the LG's but would go a full 8 hours but not more but they would not say around my neck, was constantly moving them when i was not siting still, if they were longer and stiffer like the LG they would be great and i would have purchased another pair (would not have lost them in the first place)

I had a pair that broke after about 15 minutes. It was very disappointing. They got good reviews, so I decided not to give up on them just yet. Upon contacting customer service, they sent me a new pair in 2 days, and a free carrying case! They sound nice, and I don't have to worry about ripping then out of my ears when I'm shoveling.

I had high hopes for this headset, but unfortunately was disappointed. Sound quality for both audio books and music was excellent, no complaints there. Build quality, and materials used for the headset is acceptable, and they are water resistant, great for the gym. Fairly lightweight, and stay on during most workouts. The negative comes when you receive a phone call. The microphone is horrible and everyone I talk to says I sound muffled. These are going back to store.

    Losing Quality

These headphones used to be my favorites, but I have re-purchased them several times over the past three years and they are slowly losing quality. The battery life is shorter than it used to be -- My first pair would last at least 8 hours, but the current iteration doesn't make it through a work day. I bring backup headphones now and use them as long as possible to ration my bluetooth guys. The battery life is short enough that I am constantly on edge about when they will die. This is unhelpful because I am using headphones for most of my waking hours. I think technology that I have to specifically NOT use as much as possible in order for it to be functional is probably a bad sign. Previous iterations could charge and play music at the same time, which would solve all my problems, but the current version can only do one. Very frustrating! Also, the microphone doesn't really work. I used to be able to talk on the phone while taking walks and I can no longer do this. Again -- backup headphones. Maybe I should be reviewing those; seems like my $15 skullcandies have a wider range of functionality, all things considered? The sound quality seems like it's going down as well. Though, to be fair, three stars because it's still really good. I haven't found another pair of bluetooth headphones that sound this good, and I have tried a handful of others. They're comfortable to wear for a long time, though they do slip off pretty easily during any jangly activity. They seal off enough outside noise that I don't have to blast my music to drown out the sounds of the metal shop I work in. That's a huge plus, I don't want to have to constantly blast music into my one set of ears. I think that this pair will be my last, though it was good while it lasted.

I had to return my Shadows. They fell off my neck regularly, just sitting around. Sound was good. But between an ill fit and no buzzing for incoming calls, I figured they were terribly overpriced and returned them.

These rival the best corded headphones! You don't realize you're even wearing them! Best with collared shirts. If your wearing a tee shirt, they don't stay on as well! But the tone is incredible!

I lost my Jaybird BlueBuds X headphones and needed a quick replacement. These were really cute and less expensive, so I thought they'd be a fitting replacement. Yeah... no... They are perfectly fine for walking around or working on the computer, but any more vigorous activity and they just slide off. You REALLY can't work out in them and even doing simple things like leaning down make them slip from around your neck. They are cute, and if I didn't workout so much I'd keep them, but I need something more versatile that I can run while wearing. My only other complaint is that the controls are not very accessible. They sound fine and are very attractive.

I have been using this headset for almost three months and have had no issues. They are very comfortable to wear. The sound is great! The battery life is great! I have no complaints. I don't wear them to work out. Mostly sitting at my desk. I do go walk around quite a bit indoors and out with no problems. The ear buds stay in with the size I chose out of the three they give you. Extremely happy! Would buy them again and have already recommended them to many people.

I picked these up to replace the LG HBS-800 BT headphones I had when I thought they were cutting out (turned out to be a problem with my phone's BT, not the headphones). I had read the few reviews that were out on these and everything seemed glowing, with the only negative being they weren't stable around the neck enough for workouts. Since I had no plans to use them for working out, I went with these since the store was out of the HBS-800's. The next day, I put them around my neck, but didn't put the buds in my ears yet and headed out to the garage to round up some tools to do a brake job on my daughter's minivan parked in the drive. When I went to put the buds in my ears, the headphones were GONE! So I spent the next 5-10 minutes backtracking my steps until I found them. Put them on, this time with the buds IN my ears. They sound great, but in the two hours or so I was doing the brake job, the collar piece kept sliding back and forth until the cord would start to pull tight enough to bring notice. IMHO, this was some pretty sedate activity. They went back to the store the next day and I had them order me a replacement set of LG's. FWIW, I've worn the LG's for hours without the buds in my ears and never feared loosing them. I was glad I "lost" these at home. If I had been out in public somewhere, someone else would have a new set of headphones and I'd be out $100!

    Better than LG tone

If you are wondering... these sound much better than LG tones. Ultra or Infinum. That other reviewer says they fall off when laying down. Really? I thought they weren't affected by gravity. What a bummer. Anyway the collar portion is shorter than the LG's but they stay put if you are vertical like most people will be when using them. Trust me, they are fine. Also the wires are thick and not skinny and brittle looking like LG's. I can see those shorting out sooner or later. Also bluetooth 4.0 vs LG's 3.0. Highly recommended!
