This game could have been so much better than it is. The game lacks a lot of features that a lot of other shooters have. There is no aim assist like in Call of Duty 4 or the ability to aim at enemies with iron sites. These are the main features I miss. You also can not get extra ammo for weapons that are not a like. For example, if you have an M16 you have to kill an enemy with an M16 to be able to use that enimies ammo. This is bad becuase if you like to use weapons that the enemy does not use a lot you are more prone to run out of ammo. I do however like the graphics. The graphics are better than avaerage and help to make up for other things the game lacks. There is also a lot gore in this game which is cool. When using big guns and powerful pistols, you can literally take an enemies head off. The surround sound is also good for this game. If you have a home theater system like I do then you will feel like you are the one doing all the fighting. At the end of the day though I don't think this game is worth a lot money wise. It is hard for me to recommend anybody spending a lot of money on it.

It's been a long time since I played Soldier of Fortune II for the original Xbox and longer still for Soldier of Fortune Gold for the PS2. All i can say is; Soldier of Fortune has made a successful jump to the next generation and it was worth the wait. While i have heard about many problems with it's cheaper PC counterpart, The PS3 version shines; crisp graphics, an arsenal of powerful weapons (not to mention some useful accessories)and scores of enemies waiting to be dismembered. While the storyline is both short and uninteresting; it is both entertaining and challenging (assuming you don't play it on easy mode). This is a straight forward FPS and stealth plays practically no role here, even if you use silenced weaponry; your foes will still notice your presence. A handy addition to the series is the inclusion of an auto heal. feature (as in Call of Duty 2), just take cover and wait for the screen to go from red to normal. Of course this wouldn't be Soldier of Fortune without blood and gore; and there is plenty to go around. Heads explode, limbs detach and blood sprays onto nearby surfaces, it's a shame that the corpses (or what's left of them) aren't persistent and you can't completely disintegrate your foes. At this point there aren't very many people playing online, but usually there are enough to enjoy a full 14 player match. The only key differences between SP and MP are that you can't dual wield anything, and you have the option to use different types of grenades other than frags. The sad part is that the game does not support voice communication, but it is still quite fun. The only other downsides to this game are that weapons that should have interchangeable ammo don't and practically every pistol is underpowered (ex: A Desert Eagle .50cal takes 3 rounds to kill someone) and all the dual wield weapons are extremely inaccurate. This game isn't perfect but it is still a fun game to play and is worth buying.

This is certainly not in the ranks of COD4 or GWAR2 which really set the bar high as far as a complete shooter game. What this game does offer is GORE factor. Dismemberment and over exaggerated blood loss makes this good eye candy. If you shoot an enemy's leg it will fly off and the limb will bleed like crazy. It is almost comical in the sense that limbs and torsos almost have seizures from being shot. So if you are looking for realistic, this is not it. If you want some gore this is it. The game was very short too.

Save your money. Don't buy it. It is a very bad game that I beat in one sitting. Overall, there are better things to do with your time and money.

Don't waste your money on this one. Game play is terrible; you shoot at characters and they don't die; yet they shoot at you when they can't even see you is just an example.
