Assume the role of hired mercenary Thomas Mason in Soldier of Fortune: Payback, the third installment of the Soldier of Fortune series. After a routine escort mission becomes anything but ordinary, you uncover an extremist plot that could lead to the start of a global conflict. To prevent this tragedy, you'll travel through the dangerous hotspots of the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe on behalf of an organization known as The Shop. From there you'll embark on the most dangerous missions imaginable, where enemies hide in stealth and lurk around every corner, waiting to take you out in a fraction of a second. Use any means necessary to accomplish your objectives, which will lead to the defeat of a lethal extremist outfit. See if you can stop the terrorists in time and prevent destruction of worldwide proportions.

Thanks to a next-generation modeling system with accurate hit detection and detailed damage modeling, enemies who've been hit react realistically to the type and power level of weapons. Feel the sweat form on your brow as you search for more than 15 unique enemies, such as terrorists, mobsters, insurgents, enemy soldiers and other dangerous adversaries. Take advantage of more than 30 well-equipped weapons, such as sub-machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and projectile explosives, as well as attachments and futuristic prototypes. Perilous missions will have you ambushing enemies to rescue a diplomat, infiltrating a terrorist organization, journeying on a seek and destroy mission and other trials that test your mercenary mettle. Extend the action in intense multiplayer modes that pit you against rival in-game mercenaries as a team or on your own.
