Amazing sound quality and works well even without a subwoofer. Took advantage of $100 off for Black Friday. Pricey but better than $100-200 products I had purchased, tried out, and returned.
The set up and installation was also so incredibly easy, EVERY product should be this intuitive with set up.

Before purchasing a sound bar, I recommend going to a retali store and listening to the ‘Sonos Beam’ first. My wife & I could not believe the outstanding sound quality of this product. We kept asking the salesman if he was sure that the sound was coming from just the sound bar alone because it was hard to believe based on what we were hearing. Setup at home via the ‘HDMI/ARC’ port on our Samsung QLED was as simple as following the directions on the Sonos app on my iPhone. We ‘tuned’ the sound bar to our 300 sq. ft. family room as directed and again, we were amazed; it sounded even better at home! Go listen, as we did and you will be amazed, too.

I purchased as a Christmas present for my daughter. She loves it!
The set up was super easy. Hook to your TV, download the App to your phone or device and it walks you through configuration.
The sound is amazing! It has plenty of base, but if you want more, simply add a subwoofer. It has a streamline design that complements your TV etc.
Overall, a great buy!

After replacing our old defunct sound system, I was having constant issues with a wired system. After hours upon hours of tinkering, changing cable gauge, etc, it seems like we just can't do a wired system in our home without massive interference.
I grabbed this on sale, as well as two Ikea bookshelf speakers, and oh boy do I wish I had just gone with this system from the start. Setup was a breeze, TruTone makes you look like a dork but it absolutely works, and the sound quality is fantastic. We're already considering branching out to multi-room, though it would make more sense in a home rather than large 2BD apartment.
The app can be a mild bit finicky every now and again, but it's very seldom. I have it set up to control volume from the lockscreen of my phone but every so often it seems to take a bit to recognize what I'm doing. We also always have night mode and speech enhancement on (again, apartment) which does help but occasionally different inputs (game vs movie vs youtube) have drastically different volumes, so choosing a "sweet spot" to leave it on hasn't been overly effective.
All in all I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone that asks.

Sonos products are phenomenal. This is the 4th speaker we’ve purchased from the Sonos family. So easy to setup, great sound from highs to lows and easy to stream music or watch tv with the beam. Great addition to our home and highly recommend with no hesitation. Built in Alexa or Google make this an absolute no brainer purchase.

This device is a bit pricey, but well worth it. I'm still working out the bugs in it, alot of them stem from having multiple households with multiple devices. ie (house has Sonos Sound Bar, sub, and 2 One satellite speaker, my apt, (due to work) has the Beam. You have to link your Google Home and Google Email addresses or you can't access the devices. It takes some patience and thinking through what it is you want to do. I managed to get my Iheart Radio app to play on my beam, but my SiriusXM app will not. There is definitely some issues with compatibility between Google and Sonos, I had hoped for better communications between the two and of course there is no google tech support. The sound is amazing, I have an xbox one and a HDMI cable box hooked to the tv, and have the sound through an HDMI back from the TV. Call of Duty sounds great (my neighbors might not think so but oh well...) Iheart plays with no problems, so it is definitely worth spending some money on this device. I love the Sonos family, I just wish it was more user friendly with Google.

I really liked this product, I always had home theaters, with receiver and I didn't have very high expectations with just a sound bar, I installed in my office with a Samsung 55' TV, and what a surprise, the sound quality was great, the sound volume can be low and very loud, the color match the no-frame tv and the mount arm to attach it to the tv make it look just great, no cables, very clean, the app is very easy to manage and understand, the fact that you can use any apple device and just stream your music there is amazing, I though about getting the subwoofer to pair it with the bar, but to be honest, you don't need it if you plan to install this in an office a room or a small living room... up to you, but as it is it sounds great.
there is limitation when your tv doesn't have that many HDMI ports, but in general most tv now have 3 to 4 hdmi so you can use that instead of the optical convertor.

Been a long time Sonos system owner and love the new Alexa integration (to help reduce device clutter and the ability to use my voice to use my sonos accounts and linked speakers). The speaker was a perfect size for our bedroom and looks awesome mounted just below the TV... and of course is sounds great!

I’ve waited to review this for an a month. I was originally considering the PlayBar but just couldn’t justify the cost. Don’t get me wrong the PlayBar sounds better, but not $200 better IMO. Also my TV (65” Sony X900f) is in our basement which is about 18’x15’ and the Beam sits perfectly below the TV still allowing IR access for the remote. In that space the Beam is more than enough. I love that I can stream music from all my apps (Deezer, ITunes, and Amazon Music). I was not so impressed with the Sonos app to do this so I most often stream through one of those apps to the Beam. Now you should know that 5.1 is not available in all Blu Ray disk through this Soundbar because it does not convert DTS audio to Dolby 5.1. Also, I have Youtube TV and it does not stream content in 5.1 either, but that is. YouTube TV issue not a Sonos Beam issue. All other sources/content (Netflix, PS4, Amazon Video) I have connected to the Beam do output 5.1 Dolby. If you love bass with your music and blockbuster movies you’re going to want to add the SUB. I purchased a Open Box SUB from my local BB for over $100 less! I think this is great investment and I’m considering adding two Ones for full 5.1 surround. I would give it 4.5 stars if that was an option, taking off that half star for the lack of DTS support.

Waited for this to come out, actually replacing a Sonos Playbar. Really wanted the smaller size, lower price and built in Echo for easy volume control. Easy to set up with TV and Sonos Sub-woofer. Sound quality is all I need, not quite the level of the Playbar, but still very good. Excellent value.

disclaimer - this is my 5th Sonos device - I love their products!
When I finally upgraded to a 65" modern TV, the first thing I noticed was the sound... it was bad. It makes sense as these TVs are getting thinner and thinner. After reading reviews, I went with the Sonos Beam... it's perfect. It has decent bass, without shaking the whole house (I have little kids I can't wake up), and the voices and music are great. 100X better than the TV speakers.
Setup couldn't be more easy. Alexa integration was easy, BUT it did conflict with another Alexa device in the next room over. That being said I switched the Beam to use Google Home instead, now I can use either voice service to turn on / off my TV.

Thanks for the great review of the Sonos Beam and for being a Sonos owner! The Beam truly does add great sound to any television! In order to not wake up the kids try the Night Mode feature that allows you to listen to your content at the level you want without having very loud sections reaching for the remote!

So I marked this a 4 star but debated about 3 stars... but not because it's bad in any way. More so because of "worth" and what you're getting for your money. So it really depends on you. Here we go:
I bought this for the sole reason of syncing with a Sonos One in the kitchen for dual room audio when watching tv and movies. For that, it does a great job. But I spent way more than I should have for that capability and that's because you're paying for the name. And admittedly there is no delay, no echo, it syncs perfectly.
Sound quality is just decent. I am using this on a 65" OLED and the built in speakers weren't actually that bad. I would say this bar is a marginal upgrade at best.
Now if you were to include Sonos sub woofer, then this thing would shine. But that thing is EXPENSIVE.
So what it boils down to is "worth". If you have a small tv with crappy built in speakers and no physical space for a full on reciever and multi- speaker setup, then this would be great.
If you just want a better sound system, you can get a reciever and entry level speakers for around the same price as this and it will sound better than this.
If you want multi-room audio, you can't go wrong with Sonos in general.

I am a huge fan of Sonos. These are very easy to setup, small when compared to other center channels and sound great. We have it connected to a new Samsung tv and it blows the tv speakers away. Will be buying more for all of our tv’s.

Sounds Great

I should preface this by saying I have an unsophisticated ear, but so far I am loving the sound. I have this set up in a fairly large size room with vaulted ceilings and by itself the sound is underwhelming, but I added two sonos one speakers to the mix. I do not have the sub, which I imagine would further amplify the sound. It has impressive bass without the sub for those actions scenes though. I get the vibrations now. Voices are clear. Only in some circumstances, depending on the channel/app, is the voice sound just as good as the TV alone. Alexa sometimes hears her name and cuts out the TV sound which can be annoying when it happens, but it doesn't happen enough to be upsetting. I got the beam specifically for the Alexa speaker so I could move my echo dot elsewhere. Everything integrated seamlessly. I have several smart home devices. Overall, it is a great system and huge improvement over nothing.

Very happy with the sound quality of this small soundbar. For the first two months I had this set-up with a pair of 1's for surround, which provided excellent sound. I've since added a subwoofer and taken the system to a new level. At times the Beam feels slightly undersized, but for my medium sized room it works quite well.
Functions very well and very easy to set-up, just like all Sonos products. Take the time to understand the audio settings with surrounds, playing with surround settings can make a big difference especially with music. For music I prefer the full option with surrounds vs. ambient. Also, with cable sources make sure they are set to 5.1 audio (assuming you have surrounds). I unknowingly had my cable box set to stereo for about a month and half, finally discovering I needed to switch my cable box to 5.1 was quite the breakthrough in the audio experience.
Only grip is that Alexa functionality disconnects from the Beam on a very regular basis. I have a Play One that has never disconnected from Alexa without my action. The only way I've found to re-establish Alexa is to unplug, wait a minute, and then plug back in. After the manual reboot Alexa usually works again. Would be nice if the Sonos App had a reboot or restart feature instead of having to manually unplug.

Great Size/Powerful Sound

I've been slowly buying a Sonos product per room in the house. When the Beam came out, it caught my attention with its sleek size, powerful sound, and ability to connect HDMI ARC. With the HDMI ARC connection, you are able to give the TV commands like "Turn off, Turn on, Volume up, Volume Down." Not only did Sonos create a simple solution with voice commands, your own remote controls the very audio of the Sonos Beam, I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of remotes in the living room.
Now let's get down to price point, SONOS is known to have sounds bars that can get into the $700 dollar range, which I think is still worth it. For the size of my house and living room, the beam is more than enough, especially paired with SONOS 1's in the back. Anyone who is a hardcore moviegoer would enjoy the stereo surround with multiple Sonos speakers combined with the Beam.
If you enjoy comedy, documentaries and other shows/movies that are heavy on dialogue, the beam has a great speech enhancement that helps balance tones so that you aren't overloaded with bass and treble when dialogue is over. Let's get down to music, for my podcast junkies and people who just want to turn off the TV and relax or put on some tunes for the home gym, the ability to play the beam with other SONOS speakers is great. I love being able to throw on some music and have the house filled with balanced premium sound.
I've been really happy with the Beam so far, can't wait to see what other updates will be coming out for Alexa devices, and this really helped give my entertainment center a more minimalist approach with its size factor. What I mean by this is, I don't have so much stuff crammed together, things breathe better, fewer wires, just simple. For people trying to build a real theatre in a separate room, with a projector, this probably isn't for you.
If you live in an apartment, loft or small/medium home, this is more than enough to get you started with the Sonos ecosystem of products.
