This headset is good for the noise canceling and the sound is great. Only draw back is the accidental touching of the earpiece with the hand or arm that allows you to hear sounds around you, like the flight attendants or crying babies.

I personally own the Bose QC35, but these Sony MDR-1000 have similar or better noise reduction vs the QC35. The touch features on the right ear phone is super convenient. And this thing comes with different modes, such as ambiance mode where you can listen to music while being able to hear outside noises. The only negative is they it's a bit heavier and bigger than the QC35s. But these are my goto headphones everyday.

Was between these and the BOSE QC35. Online reviews of both were great, took a chance on the newer Sonys. Have been super happy with my decision. Features I love are top notch NC, Ability to pause NC to hear announcements and touch controls for volume and track selection. Only thing I don't like is when connected to one device I need to manually disconnect to connect to new device, even if other device is sleeping.

After much deliberation choose this over the Bose and not repenting the decision. Apart from the great built quality and the long battery life, the Active noise cancellation is truly amazing. The noise cancellation even works when you are not listening to anything - great for long flight journeys. And the cheery on top are the various features like setting ambient noise levels and the swipe gestures to control tracks.

I love these! I use them at work when others are talking and it really helps to with distractions. I bought them for that, and to listen to music while working in my garden. The kind of headphones that you plug into your ears always fall out of mine, and then I don't want to reinsert them with my dirty gloves. And I don't want to blare my music through my portable bluetooth speaker, so these will be perfect. And if they block out some of the neighbors' barking dogs, that will be even better. The write up says that it doesn't necessarily block out voices, but does an excellent job of blocking out constant noises, like a blowing fan, the hum from an airplane, etc., but I have found them to do a good job. When I use them at work, it blocks most of the talking around me (I am also playing music). One of my coworkers was standing behind me and called my name several times and I did not hear him; they have to touch me to get my attention. That's exactly what I was looking for. And the music quality is great. I almost forgot, the reason I chose this headset over a competitor is this one has a motion sensor on the outside of the right ear cup. You swipe up or down to turn music up or down, and left or right to go forward and back. You press (the ear cup) to pause the music. To turn the music down and turn off noise cancelling, you cup your hand over the ear cup. This is very handy when I am having a quick interaction with someone; I don't need to take off the headset and turn them off, then put them back on when I'm finished.

The headphones are great for my daughter in college. She puts them on with soft music while studying and they block out background noise by her roommate and friends

These headphones produce great, clear, unadulterated sound. The noise cancellation is good, and the ability to touch the right ear to hear announcements on an airplane is handy. The only weak point: You cannot listen while charging.

I work in a office setting with cubicle walls. My work requires lots of focus and accuracy and I found general noise (i.e. Talking, eating, nose blowing, etc) very distracting. Bought the Sony headphones for the noise canceling features and I love it! I also like the the touch sensor control panel. One of my coworkers just bought one after testing mine out. It's great and I highly recommend them. One thing I have noticed is the ear pressure therefore I would not recommend using for long extended time (unless that doesn't bother you).

This is one of the best all around noise canceling headphones that money can buy. The noise canceling was a little strong for me at first, but over time that cabin pressure feeling goes away and all you are able to hear is music.

I love the noise cancelling feature. Mowed the lawn yesterday and couldn't even hear the lawnmower! Bluetooth is easy to set up and the HD voice for phone calls is great! I love how i can forward/rewind and volume +/- from the right ear cup. Also cupping the right exterior of the headphones shut off the noise cancelling so you can hear when someone is talking to you. At $100 off this is a great price.

These are by far the best headphones that I've ever purchased! I bought a black pair for me and grey beige pair for my wife! We couldn't be happier with them.

These headphones are great being able to stop noise cancelling by cupping my hands over the right side is excellent. NFC makes connecting to devices so easy.

Good sound quality, NC, control mechanism, weight,and price. The only problem is that the headphone turns itself off if not paired after 5 min. very annoying. further, you need to reset to pair with another device, e.g. PC.

Great performance on a plane or in your office and home. Touch controls on the right cup takes some time to get used to but in the end you’ll love them.

These were a much better choice if you want noise reducing headphones then the Bose I got first. I don't know if anyone makes 100% noise canceling headphones but these do a very good job of noise reduction for the price.

Comfortable fit with great noise canceling. Sound quality is excellent and it is as easy as tapping the right ear muff to pause play. Highly recommend.

Best noise canceling wireless headphones. Ive had beats 2 stars. Ive owned Bose qc 15 4 stars. Sonys headphone have better noise canceling than Bose and many features Bose lacks. Plus sound sound is superior to Bose. Comfort and noise canceling is superior to the Beats and many features that Beats lacks. .

I use these headphones daily at the gym and I love them. I love that I can cover the earpiece and it stops my music and magnifies the speakers voice.
