Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the excellent sound quality and comfortable fit of the 1000X Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones. Positive feedback also highlights the long battery life and user-friendly touch controls. However, some customers find the headphones to be a bit expensive and heavy. A few users also noted that the volume could be higher and the fit may not be ideal for all head shapes.

What if you could choose what you hear?

I just want to ask you..... have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could choose what you hear? I'll tell you..... it's amazing! Annoying noises? Gone. What's that? You need to hear someone that's talking to you, but there's an annoying noise you want to block out? It'll do that too! Want to hear for a second? Cover the right ear cup! Okay, enough of that. These are fantastic headphones. The ANC is AMAZING and I would say as good as the Bose QC35. The sound has great detail, clarity and warm base although, for those who like more bass like me(I personally listen to pop and edm) you might need a equalizer. These are pretty comfortable even if they're a little on the heavy side although, if your jaw is sensitive to pressure or you have sensitive ears(yes I'm one of those people too) I'd suggest the Bose QC line. There is also a little bit of pressure because of the ANC but not that bad. But the Features are great on these! The touch pad on the right ear cup works great and the carrying case is pretty nice although it only has a pocket on the outside. All in all, these are great ANC headphones if you like a lot of features but if you need more comfort (like me:) I would suggest the Bose QC line or the Sennheiser PXC 550. These are very good but sadly...... not the most comfortable for extended listening sessions.

I wanted to replace my old noise-cancelling headphones. The Best Buy representative showed me the Sony headphones as an alternative of the Bose unit similar to my old one. Both had Blue Tooth, but the Sony unit had feature to control volume and allow overriding the noise cancelling in order to hear airline announcements or converse with a person without taking the headphones off.

I love these headphones. They are not as comfortable straight out of the box as the bose 35 but after a month or so of constant use they are really comfortable. In terms of sound the Sennhesier M2 wireless are I think better but the noise canceling is no where near as good as the Sony's. I choose these over the Bose because I had doubts that the power button would hold up over time.

I'm a software developer and recently moved into an open office environment, thus I decided to look for some good noise-cancelling headphones. After comparing these to the Bose QC35's, I chose these because of the feature-set. No doubt that the Bose are great, but I liked the modern touch controls, noise-cancelling adjustments, and ambient sound features that the Sony's provide.

I bought these headphones with high expectations. These are the most expensive headphone I have purchased and my first true "audiophile" headphones. I have previous experience with the Sony mdr-xb950bt which are still one of my favorite pairs of headphones. The biggest positive I have towards these is their noise canceling. It's phenomenal. Once you have some music or pretty much anything going you can not hear anything else unless you have ambient mode on. The sound was, in my opinion, underwhelming. Much of this I feel comes from my personal preferences as I lean towards a bass heavy eq. I will say without a doubt that this is very crisp and clear audio that at the volumes I am able to handle, does not distort. These headphones do have a very flat eq. What comes from your playback device is what you hear. If you like a punchy bassey sound, these are not the headphones for you. My biggest complaint with these headphones comes from the controls. The touch gestures seem great in concept, but trying to quickly change volume or skip between tracks just becomes a jumble of awkwardly poking the side of your head. Something very attention grabbing to do in public, which slightly defeats the point of noise canceling, which is to take you out of your surroundings. The touch controls are an awesome novelty and something cool to show friends and family, but in daily use, there's something so convenient about physical buttons that provide tactical feedback, and not an awkwardly pitched beep in your ears. The one control that I do truly love is putting your palm over the right ear cup to be able to quiet the cam using and head everything around you. It is a beyond convenient feature but it confuses those trying to talk to you who would expect you to remove the headset and believe you to not be able to hear them. I would recommend these to someone who doesn't want to hear what's going on around them, and wants a true representation of what the artist intended to be heard.

I have had many headphones over the last few years. These have to be the best sounding ones I have ever had. Even better than the Audio technica ath m50x. The bass is just right and the noise cancellation works great. Maybe the only thing I can say that can be improved is the padding as it can be a little uncomfortable when wearing longer periods of time.

I use these headphones daily to watch TV while my wife is sleeping. They sound great when paired to my Smart television and I can pretty much walk around the whole living room and kitchen without loosing connection. I have had them for 5 months now and love them. The battery lasts all week using them for an hour or two every night.. great product by Sony

I got these for around half retail as I assume a new version is coming for the holidays. At this price point they kill the Sennheiser, Bose, and Beats equivalents. The Bluetooth is strong, noise cancellation is not a gimmick it's very very good, and the on ear usage is intuitive and easy to use. They are sturdy and they fools into a nice soft case.

I had Bose QC 35's and decided to switch to these and I found the noise cancelling to be marginally different if not slightly better on the 1000X. However, the touch controls on the 1000X add such a convenience and make a better than the 1000X. One downside is switching between bluetooth devices is much easier on the QC's than the 1000X

Great Sound, they stay put on my head when bending down, and they are comfortable. The touch pad on the right side is sensitive, I have accidentally skipped forward and when wearing my hair down it has caused the headphones to react as though I have touched it. I still really like them though, I just wear my hair back when I have them on.

The best thing about these headphones are the ability to cancel out loud noises. I work with children and when I need to concentrate on paperwork, I put them on to block out noise. The great thing is when a child needs my attention, I can tap the headphones and it cancels the noise canceling feature! Then I can interact with people without taking the headphones off. It is a wonderful feature, along with the ease and convenience of bluetooth.

Pick these over the Bose QC. Sony delivers an all around sound for a similar price point and, I dare say, better than the Bose QC at noise canceling. Comfortable, 20 hour battery rating, and it's built in touch comes in quite useful for stopping sound or skipping a song without having to take them off or take our your audio device.
