All-in-all better than Bose QC35 and JBL Elite 700. Very comfortable for extended use, battery life greater than 20 hours. Noise cancelled is as good as Bose, but has two ambient sound settings to hear voices only or full ambient sound. Great sound ranges so you can enjoy your music for hours!

Awesome sound and very quiet when wearing. Do not hear TV or anything. The features are awesome!

Noise cancelling works well. Overall comfort pretty good. Only 2 less than perfect issues - (1) if it is warm, the headphone pads get pretty sweaty for me and (2) I pair them with 2 devices and switching between them is rarely seamless - I usually have to turn off Bluetooth on the device I am disconnecting from.

These headphones are as advertised. I got them after trying the beats. These are far better. Noise cancelling is excellent. And the hand controls on the earpiece work great. The price is a little high, but they are worth it.

These have great clarity and range, seemed like a pretty neutral sound stage to me which is what I prefer. The head band was nicely padded, the ear pads were very comfortable and it felt solid yet light. The noise cancellation technology is superb, which means I had a similar although lesser problem with these headphones as the Bose unit. After a while I get a very subjective feeling of pressure in my ears, which is very uncomfortable. While the Bose had an extremely irritating white noise hiss, I could feel pressure in my ears immediately and it drove me to remove them after just 5 mintes, the Sony technology produced a lower range hiss, almost a rumble, that I could ignore and no initial feeling of pressure. Sadly, after about two hours with noise cancellation on I did have the same pressure in my ears feeling... almost like fatigue. Still if you can deal with other NC headsets or would wear it for a limited time then I believe these are the best available.

I like the sound quality of these headphones. The fit is good and does not give any trouble.

I bought these over the rival Bose QC35's after checking out a few reviews and have not been disappointed. The active noise cancellation along with the advance tap/touch features help these stand above the competitors too. Very good quality headphones with no obvious downsides.

I purchased the Bose QC35 first, but then returned them and purchased the Sony MDR 1000x's. Both headphones are comfortable and provide high quality noise cancelling, but the deal breaker for me was sound quality and versatility. The MDR 1000x's have great sound quality, far superior to the Bose. Plus, you can turn the noise cancelling off and/or use voice only or ambient only sound adjustments. Another great feature is that you can cup your hand over the right ear cup and everything turns off so that you can answer a question or hear something important. Remove your hand, and everything goes back on. Volume control and forward/back are also controlled by swiping gestures on the right ear cup. There is also a feature that adjusts the noise cancelling to exactly how the headphones fit on your head. These are hands down the best wireless noise cancelling headphones currently available. I highly recommend. Watch for a sale, they go down to $349 occasionally.

I got a great deal on them from Best Buy as they’re making way for the upgraded model. I couldn’t be happier in my purchase! While I will give Bose credit for making great noise canceling headphones I have never been a proponent of purchasing their products out of principle; by and large they’re awful. The downside was no good competitor for noise canceling cans...until now that is. I got to really put the Sony headphones to test on a trip and they were amazing. They really cut outside noise out very well and the overall sound is detailed, full, and accurate. I found the headphone tap controls to be finicky and didn’t use them beyond initially messing with it but I loved their ability to amplify outside sounds when cupping the right can. It’s be nice if they automatically paused when you do that, or pause when you remove them from your head. All in all I’m extremely happy with them and would absolutely purchase again.

I listened to both, these and the Bose QC35 while in the store. The sound quality (to my ears) was just slightly better with the Sony headset. Because I like the Finger Touch and the Quick Attention features and I assumed everything was going to be pretty much the same, I decided, after about two months or so, to go with the Sony 1000X. I am glad I did!! The Sony's were on sale for the same price as the Bose. However, I would paid the extra $50 for the extra features. They sound so much better than my LG wireless earplugs. I wear them for up to two hours while walking outside. They are comfortable and do a great job of blocking out exterior sounds. I thought the price was a little high but I plan on using them for many years.

These headphones really takeout the outside noises. Excellent stereo sound as well!

Great sound. Long battery life. I used these on a series of flights, one of which was 12 hours. In that case I plugged the headphones in to extend the noise cancelling battery. I was very pleased with the sound quality and appreciate the compact folding/carrying case.
