I was in the market for some premium NC headphones. The headphones are nice, but not too flashy which is perfect for using at night, on public transit, and in the office. The controls are a little strange at first, but give it a day or two and you'll get used to them. These headphones are a little too good at times, so be sure to use the cuff-right ear technique to hear what's around you as needed (especially if you optimize your NC experience). I also really love the device's voice, haha. Some room for improvement includes more pockets in the carrying case, better hanging-on-the-neck experience, and an easier Bluetooth pairing method (which is very secure, but can be a but tedious and slow). Other than that, great buy!

I used to be like many of you. Used to go into work and have to hear the coworker talking to himself while secretly trying to get me to ask him what's up so he can tell me about stuff I don't care about. Everything changed when I picked up these headphones. Now I cant hear anything in the office even if this coworker stands up to face me and is running his mouth. He even knows they are noise cancelling headphones yet he continues to try to talk to me. So I just pretend I didn't see him stand up, turn around, lean on my cubicle and start talking. I highly recommend this product if you work in an environment where you don't care what other people around you have to say. Now on the rare occasion where something important is needing to be heard, just cover up the right ear piece with your hand and it lowers the music and allows that annoying voice you've been avoiding all day to penetrate your ears.

Let me start by saying I really want to like these and keep them. The sound and noise cancellation feature is tremendous. The functions are on the headphones are the best I've seen in a pair. The reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because of the pressure the cans seem to put on my ears and head. Might just be due to the size and shape of my head so may be great for others but can't wear for a long period of time.

these headphones are fantastic...and they're also infuriating. sony has managed to make a great sounding pair of bluetooth ANC headphones with some really useful features, but somehow they managed to ruin the party with poor hinge design. i'll explain. pros: -sound, sound, sound. these come well tuned right out of the package, no external EQ necessary. not for bass-heads, but certainly not lacking either. powerful, punchy, and crisp. i recommend the Gladiator soundtrack, track 3 'The Battle' for testing. you won't regret it. -comfort. not bad at all, comparable to probably their biggest direct competitor, the Bose QC35. -ANC. noise cancelling *almost* on par to the QC35, which to say, it is pretty good. -intuitive touch features. these are actually really handy and easy to use. my favorite is probably the 'hand over right cup' to immediately attenuate the sound and pipe in the outside world. very cool. -battery life. again, on par with the QC35, which is a respectable 19-20 hours, with no cable and ANC on. cons: no minor cons...see below. deal breakers: -hinge creak. wow. not so bad at first, but after about a week, every movement of your head or jaw causes an audible creak/click. barely hear it during loud music, but put on something soft and it is impossible to ignore. long story short, only you can decide if the hinge creak bothers you. it didn't bother me at first, but now i can't *not* hear it. for an MSRP of $399, this type of thing is inexcusable. i will of course be exchanging my pair in hopes that this is just a defective pair, but i have a friend who is experiencing the same thing with theirs. we shall see..

These are some of the best headsets I have used. I compared them to another high end brand, and while sound was comparable, the features and options of these headsets made up my mind. The two were priced pretty much the same, so I am glad I went with these.

This headphone has been hailed as the best bluetooth headphone. I know now why. It's noise cancellation in in par with BOSE. Yet it has so much better sound quality. And has an awesome battery life. There is nothing not to like about this headphone!

These Sony headphones are top of the line in regards to noise cancellation. The features are robust and the noise cancellation works very well. Only gripes would be that the size / weight is a bit heavier than the Bose ones. Overall, happy with the purchase!

Wireless noise cancelling music, audiobook, and podcast heaven while traveling!

These headphones are everything I had hoped they would be, but with some minor issues. The fequency response when plugged in is the best I've ever heard. Seems that no one publishes those any more. These are 4Hz to 40kHz - wow! Plus the frequency response is as flat as it can be across the entire audible range. One of the things that bothers me is that they cannot be plugged in and remain connected to Bluetooth. I don't expect the Bluetooth audio to sound as good, but it's pretty damned good! The controls are easy to use, especially the buttons on the left earcup. I have accidentally muted and hung up a call by bumping the outside of the right earcup. I am now trying to train myself to avoid doing that. :-) The active noise cancelling is also amazing. Be sure to use the optimizer feature. It helps a lot by customizing the active noise cancelling to the current environment. I was close to renting some office space for a more quiet environment. But now I don't have to, thanks to these amazing headphones. I had considered the QC35 phones by Bose. I took a pair of those for a test drive at my local Best Buy. I'm not sure why, but they sounded thin and watery. These sound rich and soulful.

the noise cancelling rivals Bose QS35,in my opinion I think its a tad bit better. i love the touch controls. they are very comfortable for me. the sound quality is what sets these headphones apart fro most. to me it cover mids and highs very well.

These headphones are exactly what I was looking for. Good bass and treble.

I was going back in forth with the Sony’s and Bose . I went with the Sony’s because they have better controls great sound.

it lives up to its reputation. the sound cancelling is excellent. the sound quality from the bluetooth is also excellent. the one "but" is that the most common place i want to use this is on an airplane. this is where we set our cellphones to "airplane mode" and are disconnected from bluetooth. to save battery power the headphone automatically turns off eery 5 minutes. but i want to sleep in silence and every 5 minutes i have to tell the headset to turn back on. i went back to best buy and was told, "yeah, that's how it works. you can't get it to stay on longer unless you are listening to music and connected to bluetooth." hey, sony, i want to sleep on the plane. allow me to set the default to stay on for up to 8 hours for when i travel to europe.

Great product. Exactly what I wanted for my flights. Works as expected.

I prefer this over the Bose. This has great noise cancelling and has great sound quality. Bass isn't exaggerated and you still get the mids and highs. Battery life is great too. Great for travel and comes with a case to keep it protected.
