This comment is from genuine experience with every single noise canceling earphone over 250 dollars. The bose qc35 is close in noise canceling, but the sound quality is so much lacking. I had to return it two days after purchase. If you were to spend over 300 dollars on a premiere noise canceling earphone, these are simply the best at the moment.

It took a lot for me to "pull the trigger" and purchase these headphones as I am not really an audiophile. Now that I have used them for several months I simply cannot put into words how pleased I am with the noise canceling headphones. I have not been able to find anything negative to report. Excellent sound, comfortable and easy to use.

sounds natural but not as bright as my wired sennheisers; probably due to bluetooth limitations. the nfc does not work at all with my android 4.1 os phone, even tho nfc is turned on in the phone. the directions were not clear that I had to press the power button for at least 4 seconds to activate wifi connection; and I had to manually activate the wifi on my mac to complete the connection each time I switched back from the phone-kind of primitive.

For years I bought Bose products; first try with Sony. After reading on-line reviews, decided to buy the Sony 1000-X product. Totally exceeds expectations: easy directions, simple Bluetooth connectivity, and noise cancellation is great (my litmus test: does it cancel out crying babies on airplanes). No disappointments.

I've had every model of apple beats by Dre headset and not a single pair comes close to the quality in these. These are simply the best out in the market for now in my opinion but I'll never recommend another beats product ever again specially ANY of the earbuds.

Very comfortable for long use and battery holds well

While not as comfortable as the Bose qc35s I haven't had issue with them for prolonged periods of time (+10 hours of continuous wear). They offer more features and better sound/noise cancellation in my opinion. Only downside is the Bluetooth calling. Those on the other end tell me I sound far away. Can't go wrong with these though!

I bought these headphones for my trip to Australia. The headphones did a fantastic job masking the kid meltdown and the snoring man in the seat behind me. The airplane noise was non-existent. Music sounded great as well as audio books. So far I love these headphones!

Wow, Still shake my head in disbelief! If you have a hectic life, just put on these bad boys and forget all your worries. I've been listening to music all my life, and I've haven't heard detail on a lot of songs before I purchased these headphones. Hands down with the marvelous R&D Sony has put into these awesome headphones!

Easily the best pair of noise canceling headphones I have ever purchased. the extra features that this pair have over competitors make it just a little better, not to mention the sound quality is great. If you have the money for them they are definitely worth every $. Craig was able to help us out and get us what we needed.

I've tried many headphones over the course of the last 8 years, some noise cancelling, some focused on sound quality. The Sony 1000X is highly capable at both. Noise cancelling on par with the Bose QC35 and sound quality to rival audio focused brands like Sennheiser, etc. Very pleased that I went with these vs. Bose or Beats.

One highlight of the reviews was the sound quality given they are Bluetooth headphones. I have Bose QC 15's (wired) and Sony Bass Boost Bluetooth (non noise canceling). Both have good sound but the 1000x is smoother and better balanced. Noise cancelling? Haven't challenged them yet, but the passive noise cancelling is excellent.

Bought these before a flight out to Tucson, Az. THAT was the beginning of the great times with these things. I have since discovered that while cutting the grass on riding lawn mower...ALL I hear is the music. Mind you I haven't tried to make or receive a call but when I need to hear anything outside, just cup the right ear and I can hear it all. I really would recommend these headphones to anyone that needs to cut out the noise.

I was divided between these or the Bose QC35 headphones but chose these in the end. My deciding factor was the ability to touch the right ear and cut the noise canceling to hear my surroundings. Although I still feel the QC35s are more comfortable for longer usage sessions but both are still a great buy in my opinion.

From unpacking to using it feels as a luxurious item. I feel that I rewarded myself for all shortcomings that I had with other electronics. It just a piece of art, maybe there are better headphones but I just don't care, these ones are beyond all my expectations and have enhanced my listening experience enormously.

I have used Bose in the past, but wanted to see if another manufacturer had something more advanced. I love the Sony MDR 1000X ! It has a more luxurious feel, sound is better, and the touch sensor is a new fun way to change music. Covering the right ear with your hand allows quick access to hear overhead announcements.

These headphones are amazing! Stop reading this and get these headphones today! Yes they are a bit on the pricey side but if you're looking to get some noise cancelling headphones with great sound then these are the perfect pair! Great sound, great noise cancelling function and of course the reliable Sony quality! A must buy!

This is the best headset I have ever had so far. The audio quality is top notch and it is quite easy to control this thing. For examples, you can just use place your hand at the headset, while listening to music, to deactivate noise-canceling (and start talking to other people). Highly recommend.
