Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the excellent sound quality and comfortable fit of the 1000X Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones. Positive feedback also highlights the long battery life and user-friendly touch controls. However, some customers find the headphones to be a bit expensive and heavy. A few users also noted that the volume could be higher and the fit may not be ideal for all head shapes.

These headphones can be used to about 20 feet. Great sound and the noise cancellation is the best. Love the jesters on the right headphone to operate the controls of the headphones.

I bought these to drown out the noise from working in a cubical environment. I'm not use to working in a very noisy place. all that noise. They work great. The charge cord is short. Sometimes you can fill the pressure of the noise canceling feature.

They sound good but I realized that they're not as loud as the older model which I liked very much. Noise counseling works great as well as the other features. Just wish they were a little louder.

I had an early Bose model before these. The difference is unbelievable!!! I was sitting near a crying baby on my last flight, I barely heard it. These are worth every penny I spent!!!

Sound cancelling is incredible and the sound is crisp, but the headphones are not 400 dollars incredible. They are 400 dollars good as in you are expecting them to be at least what they are. They won't disappoint and they work how they are supposed to.

These Sony headphones are amongst the best I have ever used. I was able to easily connect via Bluetooth for gaming to my PC--without any sound lags and with really superior sound. I was also able to easily connect to TV for watching the Vienna Opera (guess I gave you a clue about my cultural preferences). Sound is amazing. My only complaint, after wearing for many hours, is that the headphones fit too tightly on my head (maybe my head is too big!), and the plastic construction gives me some concern as to longevity. But for now, for what I've used them for--terrific headphones and equal or better to most all in this price range.

These were a perfect pair for my wife. She traveled to Paris and with the long flight needed something to block it the noise for passengers and the plane. Worked extremely well.

I have never purchased headphones that were more comfortable. I particularly like the feature that allows you to talk/listen to someone without removing your headphones or taking them off. That said, they are not 100% noise cancelling. Is anything?

I tried both the Bose QC35 and this Sony. The noise cancellation on the Sony is on par with the Bose, but the Sony offers much better audio quality. You won't be disappointed!

Used to use the Bose qc 35. This is by far the better headphones. I would recommend these to anyone who wants superior sound with the benefit of not being tied to a cord

I compared Sony 1000x with Bose QC35 in store. QC35 is a classic but Sony provides better sound quality and brilliant features.

    A Delight to Own

To preface this review, I am a Best Buy store employee, and this is an unbiased review based solely on my personal experience with these headphones. These are the most expensive and highest-quality headphones I've ever owned, and I love them to death. PROS: - Provides strong bass while still providing crisp treble - Easy to pair with your device (Bluetooth or cable) - Decent battery life and charging time - Active noise cancellation feature is the best I've heard (better than Bose QC35) - Includes ambient noise features in case you'd like to be able to hear your surroundings - Touch features work well and are surprisingly intuitive - Sleek design - Comfortable CONS: - Instructions consist purely of hieroglyphs - Buttons on left side are somewhat difficult to locate until you get used to the headphones - The price, while fair, is not exactly wallet-friendly This is both a pro and a con: the materials of which these headphones are made feel high-quality but fragile. They are okay for travelling, but they might get worn out after a while. I recommend familiarizing yourself with Sony's warranty or adding a Geek Squad Protection plan at the time of purchase to make sure that this isn't an issue. As a Customer Service Specialist, I can tell you that I see a lot of headphones come back for plan fulfillments. Even if they're well-made, they eventually get worn down. (I'm aware that this sounds like a sales pitch, but it's really just honest advice from one audiophile to another.) Overall I'm tickled with my purchase of the MDR-1000X. It was worth every penny, and I've been showing it off to pretty much everyone I meet. Although this review is marked as "I would recommend this to a friend," I want to clarify that I would only recommend this to a friend who has enough money to spare for these sorts of things. If money is an issue, you might want to go with Bose QC or Sony Extra Bass.

I think this is the best acoustic noise canceling, one draw back it has, that your ears will start to sweat after nearly 3 hours of use, other than that it is the best by far
