Customers are saying

Customers commend the 16GB Memory Card for PlayStation Vita for its ample storage capacity, which allows them to expand their Vita's game storage. However, the major drawback is its high price, which some customers find unreasonable.

    Good memory cards, but pricey

I've had a Vita for a while now, and I kept hoping the price of the memory cards would drop significantly, but they haven't. So you know the drill. You'll need a memory card at some point, so might as well get a large 16GB one so you don't have to swap it out as often as the smaller ones.

    Great but quite high

Does the job, its in perfect condition, but the cost is high, ridiculous when you think about it in comparison to other memory card with same memory space.

Second best if you can't afford the 32GB

If you don't buy a lot of digital games and take the free games from Playstation Plus, then this memory card will be fine.

Works Great, Glad I Waited For a Sale

I've been looking to upgrade my 4GB memory card for a while. At $60 I couldn't justify purchasing this 16GB memory card. But when Best Buy put it on clearance for $30, I had to get one. It works great, allowing me to save more games to the card. It's great for Playstation Plus members to download free games to the card. At $60 the value is extremely poor normally considering I could buy a 16GB SD card for less than $20, but because of the clearance and the fact that you have no other options for expanding your memory since you can only use these Sony branded memory cards, this is the way to go.

The extra space on my VITA now allows me to download more games and it is fairly simple to move your data if you're upgrading from a small card to a larger one.

It is a great product if you dont want to move up to 32GB and pay a lot more but it is still costly. Wait for a price drop or sale and make the purchase. It is great for anyone with Playstation Plus or with a lot of downloadable games.

The 16GB SD card exceeds the minimum requirement of space for most RPG games.

Not bad for a starter card, but pricey

This card is a good starter card for my son who we bought this for. He turned 8 and since there are not a lot of PS Vita games out for his age group right now the storage space is fine. I do feel the price is rather hefty for the amount of storage you get. All in all the card has been working as designed.

Sony may charge a little much for this sd card but its worth it to be able to play the games on the Vita.

    Adequate Memory Card

A 16GB memory card will hold anywhere from 4-16 games depending on their size. I've had no issues with mine so far, so Sony appears to have made a quality product.

Great device. eats up a little of the advertised memory due to system storage but still enough for you to store as much as you require.

    nothing special

I only gave this 2 stars as this card is required to play the system. There is no on-board memory. Sony makes great gadgets and I always have to have them. But it is almost like the big guys at Sony look for ways to sabotage sales. There was not reason to make yet another memory card format. They go the price of the device right and if they drop digital downloads $10 and had a normal (even duo would be alright) memory card they would not be able to keep these on the shelves.

    Overpriced Proprietary Memory Card

    Posted .

This is my biggest gripe with the PS Vita, the proprietary memory card. They are overpriced, slow, and low capacity. These are required for downloaded Vita games. I have 6 games that fit on the card now and so I wish I went with the 32gb or even imported the 64gb one from Japan. Also transferring games from the ps3 takes forever because the write speed on the memory card is slow.

    Pricey, Unnecessarily Proprietary

I assume they made there own card to stop exploits to play free games without buying them since this card can't be hooked to a pc, on one hand i understand but when you can buy a 64gb-128gb micro sd for the price of this 16gb card that's a little insane, people will find a way anyways

It works as expected with my Vita. No issues. If you have Playstation Plus you are going to want a bigger card such as this.
